Cheltenham Festival Photographs 2009. Souvenir thread.

WOW! :)

This is better than watching the video again.

Love so many of them, and can really see the different build and character of each.

Dunguib is wiry isn't he? That was a great race, like so many of them ....

Thanks for sharing!

Just looking at the various different pictures...is it hard to move around at Cheltenham to get photos like that? Imagine its a struggle to get from one place to the next quickly?

Yes, I thought that too, it's a big course, we were just trying to view in parade ring and get to Winner's Enclosure and were totally knackered after first day. :D

Hats off to the photographers who seemed to magcially appear everywhere. (And not out of breath like we were)

i really think this UG must be a professional :)

absolutely brilliant stuff as we know him and thanks so very much for sharing them.

may i now ask for whiteoak please *shy* ?

I must be the only one who can't see the pictures on my work computer (just the captions, which I'm sure don't do the photos justice). I'm looking forward to viewing them at home!

The contributions from photographers used to be the glory of this forum and it's great to see UG putting up new stuff once more.

Thanks everyone for your comments.

EC1, yes I use Photoshop elements 5 to edit my photographs. Hamm, yes all photos are available for purchase to anyone! Galileo, it was much easier to move around the enclosures this year, even Gold Cup day. In previous years I would not even attempt to make it back to the winners enclosure even from the last fence, let alone the 3rd last! Its fairly easy to move around the track for various positions, though I do give myself a bit to do sometimes.

Thursday...

THE VICAR goes out in a strange combination of elastic and leather, whilst not unusual for a namesake perhaps.

There you go Jinnyj - told you The Vicar ran in bloody draw reins!! I still can't for the life of me understand 1) why the horse wore them in the first place (they have no place in racing so far as I am concerned; nor do any type of gag bit, even the continental snaffles) or 2) why they were fitted so badly, being put on under the breastgirth.

Yes, that is a weird set up isn't it?

Looking at the mistakes VPU made in slow motion here is painful. Chocs did well to keep him on his feet. Shame..... but Imperial Commander just gallops and jumps.

The photo of Denman and Kauto neck and neck is just ridiculously good Uncle Goober...just an awesome shot.

Love the one of Mighty Man as well.
