Cheltenham Trials Day

I'd be tempted by Energumene but I'd wait until closer the day as I think you could get 3s or 7/2 now on the day.

Plus I couldn't back him now as I'd want an update from Mullins first about why he got beat today and if he is ok from a physical point of view.

I doubt you’ll see any 3/1 on the day let alone 7/2

He was primed for the week before. Could we have a similar scenario with this horse that transpired with BMG when he was terrible at Aintree after being pulled from the Brown Advisory last minute.
So you don't think WM does training runs - even though he used the same race (albeit Ascot) last year?

Apparently Willy Mullins thinks he was put off by the white painted fences since he’s not used to them…….:)

Im surprised by that comment as you would have thought WPM would have painted some of his schooling fences white by now, in time for the festival?

Our pal Roddy Owen got a good run in X Country race.
Fair dues.

Do you know when the first official entries get made for the cross country, Edgt?

I am surprised Delta Work is so short. Yes he has won it before but he is priced like defeat is out of the question.

I was actually quite impressed with Deise Aba who was second yesterday who ran a brilliant race on his first attempt at the cross country circuit. It doesn't look like he is currently entered in the race though.

Delta Work is among the 'possible entries' according to the racing post. I'm not sure if that is a proper entry or the racing post guessing as to what will run?

I assume you know this Martin but the X Country in March is a level weights contest nowadays so for example, were Deise Aba to run, he’d be 18lb worse off with Delta Work and Back on the Lash 16lb.

Delta Work is actually a good price at odds against NRNB in my opinion because he is more likely to win than not.

Ah we learn something new every day don't we...thanks Lee!!

Still reckon Deise Aba could improve again, in a race Phillip Hobbs has done well in before.

I might take that 33s Hills NRNB.

Accordingly to RPR he attained his joint top rating running second to Shiskin.
Ratings, schmatings; Imo he ran in last year's Clarence House to find out how best to ride him against top opposition over a stiff track.
They clearly learned from that for the QMCC, which was WM's stated aim from the previous April.
Shishkin's never been the same horse since, despite his rating saying he's close.

Mortal E/W was the one to take out of the race, Deise, Delta etc were race fit....

Only 8L off Delta Work in a grade 1 at levels in 2018, didn't get a clear passage on a few occasions...

Maybe, reet, but they’d presumably want him near spot on for the finding out.

ps: apparently Star Sports took two bets totalling £725,000 on him in the Clarence House, so some thought he was up for it!

And how many horses peak 6 weeks before their target?

Judged on his SP, thousands must have backed him for Saturday. Clearly, they were wrong.

Two bets, reet, for that much, blimey. I do agree with you, but he must have been pretty much there and certainly enough to win it. Got to be more to it than his fitness level imo.

I thought the Bowen horse ran well at a huge price ( if only he’d got 4th though). Didn’t realise he was Roddy’s till just now.

Aye.the same punter backed him last year - with the same fate.
You continue to follow the money, I'll carry on trying to figure what Willie's up too.:)
