Daily picks.

Gig, you've done it again, Hugh Taylor has put up Silvas Romana as well (must be watching your thread!!!), loads of people will be backing it now and the price has tumb;ed accordingly. You are the master!!

amazing again giglo, i am surprised a big firm aint come in for you, you could easily demand 25-30k a year

Anyone doing Silvas Romano in the next might like to know that PaddyPower are going "money back if second" in all of tonight's Chepstow races.

Well done with Rusty Rocket, Gigilo, great call.

I ran through my data base with the draw at Haydock on Gd-Sft or slower, which goes back to 01/01/00. What I found was the high drawn horses do indeed seem to be at an advantage from around mid way through the naughties, just s you said.

Prior to that though, it seemed pretty balanced.

Did Haydock do some drainage work around 2005 ish? I can't remember, but there seems a definite sway towards those drawn high from around that time.

I'm just curious, thats all. The swing seems like something must have happened.

Can't remember many 2yr old horses running faster than older handicappers rated 83 on debut, this form looks red hot an unbelievable time .42 quicker than than above standard rated 84 winning bthe ultra competitive handicap later on the card.Nothings come anywhere near this on times so far and the race as a whole must be worth following at least on fast ground.I can't remember the last time horse made its debut and ran as quick as this probably something like strong suit as a 2yr old.Royal mezyan has proven itself to be decent as well and a maiden on this ground a formality running .20 quicker than the winner of that handicap but carrying 2 poind more. This race should be chocca full of winners and probably worth looking for some ante post bets as the winner will more than likely be overpriced. Its probably worth watching the race several times as right back to 8th place there could be winners.

Like many of the tracks the stands side used to be a huge advantage especially on fast ground, this must be over 20 years ago it was virtually impossible to pass on the running rails.Don't know what happened at haydock probably 20 years ago you'd be backing either side on soft or heavy ground now its completely changed very rarely see winners on the far side.

Again a very quick time on the aw must be the quickest 3yrold race this season and for 3yr olds only rated 73 and 67 very quick and so lightly raced.Loads of improvement to come fropm winner on only third run as well and I like the fact naaz back in third beat labienus on previous run, labienus winner since off 78.These maybe future aw stars, one slight? is how quick the track was riding but still looks very good form worth following.

Going to need a reminder now and again as I only put them on here and havn't kept note of them as I usually do,so would be helpful especially the lightly raced horses as the older handicappers are easier to remember than newer horses.

Don't think sound of guns is on here benny half of those are either on wrong ground, trip or bad draws or prices no good. Can't say any of them look great value races are far to competitive better off just having an ew lucky 15/31 that like the ground and havn't got bad draws.Bosun breese I knew would be tagettted fir that race today needed soft ground and would've been a great bet.Think there's loads of non runners due to it being firm. Most of these look better for other days.

washaar

Very little 7f form to go on 2yr old wise but another reasonable time on soft ground at haydock by washaar on debut, only .49 slower than the progressive 3yr old equity risk in the following race.A decent standard set and at least one to follow short term this looks listed class form already and maybe even better with another step up in trip!!!!!!
