Discusssiontofollow

Third on debut then second to sky garden at catterick on Wednesday, there was an older handicap on the card won by wild sauce rated 74 but only .08 slower the maiden than wild sauces race, discussiontofollow carried 8 pound more. The runner up may creep into handicaps off a reasonable mark winner sky garden only rated 64 so maybe worth a bet in handicap or may even get underestimated in one of these typically weak maidens.

Yet another two hannon horses that were eye catchers and look huge improvers worth bearing in mind when looking at the big race entries as there's no way hughes will get these right so many of comparative ability.

edge

KABBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBOOOOMMM Nice to see the speed figure working out just wanted easier ground and back at chester, may still yet be better than this on softer:ninja:

Was miles off the pace at chester till the last 1/2 furlong and was nearest finish,in all probability at least a 6f or 7f may suit best. The winning time of this race only .66 slower than dutch masterpiece winning off 89 later on the card, another hannon runner that could be overpriced with multiple entries.

brown sugar

Another hannon runner 6/7ls off the pace, finishing under hands and heels giving the impression he was easily the best horse in the race with loads of improvement to come.As mentioned on other previous runners this one was 40/1 outsider of his three, again showing there isn't much between the majority of his runners and also showing there is value there with all the multiple entries he will have. The time of the race was respectable as well only 1.1 seconds slower than nocturne winning off 94 in later handicap and with loads of improvement to come will leave hughes scratching his head on the big races yet again.

solar spirit

Bit of an eyecatcher solar spirit trapped in a pocket at a crucial time when looked to be cantering, impossible to win when switched at catterick ended up 4th beaten 2 1/2ls.Solar spirits got to come down the weights now hopefully a drop of 2 pound and that would allow him a nice drop in grade as the races he's been competing in have been very competitive. That would allow him onto his lowest mark since winning off 74 april 2012,looking at his profile in recent time his best runs have been on softer ground as opposed to fast ground so that run may have been even better than it first looked

Marmalady - 05 Sep 2013 20:40 - Kempton, 0m 6f 0y
Trainer: G L Moore
Jockey: G Baker
Form figures: 874521
Age: 3
Country: IRE
Past Form: Won on her latest outing when 15-8fav over this course and distance last month, beating Brynford by 7l. Carries a 6lb penalty today for that success.
Your comments: Yet again a sleepless night so have l;ooked through last weeks results not thoroughly as havn't energy or inclination but saw marmalady time of 1m 12.02.Thats a decent time for a 60 rated 3yr old and still only the 6 runs, she's going to get a big hike which maybe slightly unjustworthy on what she's beat even though winning by 7ls.I was hoping she may just get put up 10 pound but highly unlikely but still she won so well and even though a very poor race she has to be worth following short term at

Hawkeyethenoo - 07 Sep 2013 15:50 - Haydock, 0m 6f 0y
Trainer: J S Goldie
Jockey: G Lee
Form figures: 446508
Age: 7
Country: IRE
Past Form: Has won eight races from 5f to 1m on ground varying from good to firm to good to soft. Beaten 4 1/2l behind Rex Imperator at 14-1 when eighth of 27 on his latest outing at Goodwood over 6f (good) last month.
Your comments: Ayr Gold Cup - 20/1 365/Hills -This group 2 produced two massive eyecatchers in may and could well be two of the main contenders in the ay gold cup.Hawkeyethenoo looked unlucky in this race sitting behind but not getting the gap and could've had a group 2 to his name as it is has slightly disappointed since but a few excuses since trip ground and last time out at goodwood looked unlucky.Held up away from the pace was stopped in run several times and looked the second best horse in the race finis

Hors De Combat - 07 Sep 2013 13:45 - Kempton, 0m 7f 0y
Trainer: J R Fanshawe
Jockey: F Tylicki
Form figures: 1
Age: 2
Country: GB
Past Form: Foaled 28 Feb. Half-brother to Maid For Sunshine, won at 1m. A winner at 12-1 at Newmarket over 7f (good to firm) on his latest outing last month, beating Rosehill Artist by 1 3/4l.
Your comments: Another impressive winner from the fanshawe stable time looked ok for debut run, although the races on the straight weren't run at true pace but wasn't far off askauds time .42 rated 86 in the older handicap. The following day the nursery won by dancealot rated 73 running off 8-1 yet only .20 quicker than debut run of hors de combat the times aren't really comparable due to pace but the debutant carried 9-5 in the maiden so can only see it as a positive with improvement to come.

Simple Magic - 07 Sep 2013 16:10 - Kempton, 0m 6f 0y
Trainer: J H M Gosden
Jockey: R Havlin
Form figures: 731
Age: 2
Country: IRE
Past Form: Foaled 5 Feb. Won on her latest outing when 4-5fav at Wolverhampton over 6f last month, beating Palace Princess by 8l.
Your comments: A very fast time of 1m13.60 on the aw eased and hacking up by the filly, can't remember anything quicker 2yr old wise and considering the ease of the win probably one of the most impressive winners seen on the aw in recent times. Her form on the turf over 5fs previous looked average she may yet get a nice mark for nurserys, even if she doesn't repeat this run on turf she looks a top class aw horse.

Just my view Gigs, but Hawkeyethenoo is getting a bit long in the tooth now, and needs help from the ground to slow the others down a bit (though he doesn't act on proper soft/hvy).
Still a very capable horse (would have won at York earlier this year with a clear run), he looks bound to come across his ground somewhere this season.

Jim Goldie more or less confirms this assessment:
"He won't mind a wee bit of rain, but not that much,"
and today could well be the day. Has Gordon Lord Byron to beat, imo.

Dungannon

Seems tio be relentlessly getting backed but some of these tracks are not suited to his running style one that is is ascot.Last season 5th in the Wokingham off 97,then followed that up with a 5th when running on the standside, nearest other stands side runner was 12th in that race behind taajub. His last previous run to that at ascot was august 2011 when beating medicean man off 95 this looks his track and hopefully the horse will be forgotten and some attractive prices in the bigger races.

1st time back at Ascot off 86! Shame about the price, put up in May.

Talented Kid - 10 Sep 2013 14:50 - Leicester, 0m 7f 9y
Trainer: M Johnston
Jockey: F Norton
Form figures: 1
Age: 4
Country: GB
Past Form: A winner at 7-1 at Windsor over 1m (good to firm) on his latest outing last month, beating Vanity Rules by 3l.
Your comments: Another horse Johnston has turned around fromlooking slow in bumpers to hacking up tonight at Windsor conceding the 82 rated 3yr old vanity rules 11 pound and a 3ls beating. The time of the race was fast by 1.08 seconds good considering ease of win and over a second quicker than al jamal winning off 76 in following race, that winner carrying 9-1 winning easily.Looks yet another Johnston horse to follow and the mark given will be very interesting.

Barley Mow - 13 Sep 2013 15:50 - Doncaster, 0m 7f 0y
Trainer: R Hannon
Jockey: R Hughes
Form figures: 1
Age: 2
Country: IRE
Past Form: Foaled 19 Apr. Half-brother to Glean, won twice at 7f and 1m. Won on his latest outing when 6-4fav at Newbury over 7f (good) last month, beating Yuften by a neck.
Your comments: Two more that were outstanding on the newbury cards on the two days coming 1st and 2nd not sure how the ground compared on the two days but this race was 1.14 seconds slower than somewhats on the following day but lots of improvement to come from the pair. The time of the race also compared well to the very decent claimer on the card win by tatlisu beating balty boys .50 slower.Again hard to at least not have them noted with decent debuts.

Be Ready - 13 Sep 2013 15:50 - Doncaster, 0m 7f 0y
Trainer: S bin Suroor
Jockey: S De Sousa
Form figures: 2
Age: 2
Country: IRE
Past Form: Foaled 14 Apr. Half-brother to Trending, won three times at 5f. Beaten 4 1/2l by Somewhat when second of 7 at 5-2 on his racecourse debut at Newbury over 7f (good) last month.
Your comments: I got to watch this race while away and thought be readys run was pretty impressive for debut run behind somewhat the first two look group horses and the time of the race only .29 slower than gken moss winning later on the card. There looks loads to work with be ready and would imagine is a group horse although might not be a great deal of value such a good debut hard to ignore.

The outsider of the field Rocky Reef would also appreciate it, dropped to a mark of 80 after 2 runs for new connections, he sluiced up by 10 lengths at Doncaster prior to those runs off a mark of 74 (Apprentice race, jockey claiming 5). Whether tomorrow is the day or not, the market may give some indication, high as 33/1, low as 18/1. Many have already been shortened in this race.

Steve rocky reef I put on here when I put it on here at 12/1 that day was one of my best on here I had a 600/1 treble that day ,that day it ran a second quicker than captain ramius and was over 2.3 secopnds quicker than the second div. It's already on the to follows with a write up on here a few months back, but I havn't got a clue where it is.Don't understand why it left the balding stable as it would be impossible to have given it a mark on those times.

Frustrating, 4th albeit beatan 6L by the front 3, maybe down a lb or 2 for that though?

Wants soft ground rocky reef couldn't believe it got so close penultimate run probably an autumn horse.

The rain continues to fall and the money continues to come for Rocky Reef in the last at Sandown today, down to a mark of 73 (won off 74) and first time blinkers, is today the day?!!

No.

A frustrating beast, travelled well in the 1st time headgear, shouldn't rise too much in the handicap for finishing 2nd today.

Trainer: E Lynam
Jockey: J A Heffernan
Form figures: 2
Age: 2

Past Form: Foaled 1 Jan. Half-sister to Ballyorban, won twice at 6f and 7f. Beaten 2 1/4l by Terrific when second of 7 at 25-1 on her racecourse debut here over 7f (good) last month.
Your comments: Very rarely look at the irish cards/horses but as not feeling well over the last week been doing little form so just looking at the results and yesterdays curragh results. This opening fillies race seemingly run in a decent time .91 quicker than war command winning the group 2 although that race friendship going off to quick but still makes the maiden interesting. The second out of duke of marmalade blocked in through most of the race finishing well probably loads more to come over further and the

Have been seriously ill in hospital for past two weeks an operation and another procedure, catalogue of incompetence and pain was on self induced morphine for 6 days has left me with very weak and a lot of weight loss.Have just started eating again but there looks like future operations ahead and still in a lot of pain.Racings obviously not a priority now but I will probably use it as I usually do for a distraction even if it just means looking at results.

A mirror of what my other half is currently going through Gigs, incompetence and low moral is rife in the NHS.
