Compton

A very obvious one which I wasn't going to include as its so obvious for everyone to see,but just from a handicapping perspective could be interesting to if/how much Compton progresses.Winning today off 75 in what was quite a weak race and run at relatively slow time, first time tongue tie Compton won with any amount in hand.In October 2012 was rated 93 and was 4th to jack dexter in ascot handicap, stewart Williams trains and with the higher prizemoney on offer with better class races you will probably see Compton entered in a lot of forthcoming handicaps. It looks like tt has made a big difference as had shown nothing on previous aw runs an interesting runner although another that maynot be a great deal of value.

I havn't backed it doesn't mean it can't win but when I back 5/2 shots I want to think they're even money shots which on previous 5f race you couldn't.It's pure speculation, what I will say is chris dwyer wouldn't run it over the 5fs unless he was pretty sure it could run well.I've known him for 20 years and he's good with improving handicappers and running up sequences,he actually said he wished there was a listed race for her on fibresand.Actually reminds of when he trained sea deer and wardara, wardar went onto win a listed race in Italy with similar profile to hannahs.

Probably runs over 5f as it's her last chance to run here off her old rating (+ 6lb penalty}.
She won 7l latest, and looks bound to go up more than that - which kicks in on Saturday, before the next Southwell meeting.
Just saying, of course, and she might still win, but not one to go in heavily on, imo.

Noble citizen

Veteran now and anyone who's backed him in the past would've lost fortunes only 4/58 so now maybe the time to bet him.He was the biggest eyecatcher in this race travelling best 2fs out stopped twice in run and then switched to the inside when race was over would surely have gone close with a clear run.
He may just get overpriced after so many losses and on this form there should be at least a race in him he's worth following for a few runs.

Hannahs Turn ran a blinder in a very fast run race, and looks something to bet on back here at 6f - even off her new mark.

Hannahs Turn ran a blinder in a very fast run race, and looks something to bet on back here at 6f - even off her new mark.

I think she might be overbet Reet.

Looking at the times today, especially the first race, the track looks to have been riding fast. Not been harrowed for a week, so no great surprise.

I also think the the first 1f on the sprint course is very unpredictable bias-wise at the moment.

Actually put noble citizen on here after its last run November 21st put on here the 29th,so hadn't even run the sire proud citizen has one of the best roi for progeny, this was noble citizens first ever run on fibresand. There was obviously a ? over trip so couldn't be overly confident I also backed the second again out of nayef also one of the best roi from progeny on fibresand again debut run. Those stats work out really well on debut runs for progeny, the obvious thing to do was back the pair £49 fcast as well.:ninja:

Not form to be looking to closely at but just highlighting how the track changes so quickly this race from memory something like 1.7 seconds quicker than any handicap won there this season.I t was infact comparatively quick compared to the other races as well, maybe worth looking at the first two if they come back to swell but the proximity of George benjamini and munaawib seems to show the weakness of the form in what looks a very quick time. What will be more interesting will be the forthcoming meetings as the last few meetings the track has become quicker and quicker..

It probably will get quicker. Clerk said there would be no harrowing of surface until the temperature drops.

I think its rain rather than frost for the next 5 days.

Just looking at it's profile, looks a better horse left handed.

having said that I don't know what it's up against.

Munsarim was highly unlikely to win the race not just conceding weight was actually 8 pound worse in with winner, plus there was no pace in the race 1.7 seconds slower than mr chocolate drops dire handicap. Was a strange entry as trainer must've known the small field and pace was against it,yet looks in real good form for 1mile handicaps.Looks like another one of those clueelss trainers that will be running it week in week out regardless of field size or pace in the race!!

Random success

A weak handicap but the lightly raced filly was 6ls off the pace with a furlong and a half to go,yet picked up to eventually win cheekily. She looked a long way ahead of her winning mark of 58,with only 5 runs and open to loads of improvement she could turn oput to be a decent class handicapper and she could be overpriced in these weak races. Can't see her going up more then 4-5 pound for this win and that l;eaves her in very weak races, nearly always run at a true pace the 5fs she looks worth following.

The blue dog
Summerfree

Nice performance from the blue dog again today after winning by 7ls on previous run was still only on 63 today looked ridiculously well handicapped if repeated previous winning time in canter of 2m.28.88.That time was only .64 slower than when winterlude hacked up off 96 and todays race won by blue wave winning off 79 in 2m29.43.The mare is now 7yr old impossible to know where improvements come from, has run second off 70 her best previous bit of lifetime form last season. She again won so easily today and race was only .46 slower than standard in canter that off these sort of marks in high 60s and 70s no reason why she can't go on and win at least another matybe two.
The Johnston horse summerfree had to concede 5 pound ran a respectable race, has only had 5 lifetime runs is on a mark of 66 open to still more improvement. The races in this grade are relatively weak and now proven on poly as well as fibresand looks worth following, has gone off stupid prices the last two runs so might get ignored next few runs and maybe a bit of value!!

True to form has been really consistent since 2011 and progressive started that season on 71 ON AW and since then has run well for two seasons in the 90s on the aw. He won 3 last season was runner up twice and returned to c/d of last win running off a 3 pound lower mark of 93.Held up out the back 6ls off the pace to be nearest finish with another of my to follows tinshu should be competitive off current mark and alan mc cabe good at getting the best pout of his aw horses!!
Winning Time:2m 2.58s.

Runs tomorrow, 3:45 Lingfield off 91 now. Interesting that David Probert takes the ride, having won on him previously. 14-1.
