Never backed it,really liked the winners fortm 6 winners iout of its Beverley race including the 4th now rated 89,plus the stoute horse had been put up 7 pound which I didn't think would happen.I would've had to back the pair for an 11/8 winner on desperate ground, wasn't worth the risk...

One of the most impressive debuts of the season likely 340,000 bp last month
newcomer for david barron,he's already had 3/4 decent looking 2yr olds hopefully she will be the best of them.Winning today hacking up by 5ls the time was very good considering how easy she won,.63 quicker than mj woodward later on the card and carrying 8 pound more.At this stage of the season there should've been some similar times or better floating around I havn't recorded hardly any but,she looked far better than this form with tonnes of improvement to come. This win was very similar to david browns mind of madness easy win at Newmarket, think I maybe tempted into backing her at ascot and might be worth looking out for some prices. She beat mattmu today by 5ls is probably 10ls better than that horse, mattmu runner up to sea wolf and northgate lad those two runners 3rd and 4th on Saturday in class 2 conditions race quite interestingly to another barron horse mid term break.
She may well be far superior to that winner on these formlines so the for looks solid even if she is relatively inexperienced!!

Bazzana

Impressive winner by 10ls although probably beat nothing, the rain was on and off all day in between races but the following race won by among angels was over a second slower than bazzana and bazzana was just as impressive.I don't thinkn its likely that bazzana will be as good as the second maiden winner, that winner came out of the newbury race that usually throws up lots of decent winners and I'm sure among angels will be running at ascot. At this moment its impossible to rate anything with the times and formlines being relatively tenuous, but bazzanas form might get underestimated being trained by small trainer not known for flat winners. It looks as though he has a decent filly who may just be overpriced in weak listed races or if very lucky gets let in to handicaps on decent marks.

the 5f times comparison...Bazzana was 14lb slower than 3yo High On Life who is probably an 80 horse...so would say Bazzana has run to a 74 incl wfa and allowing for weight carried.

Commander Pattern might be worth watching on the 31 May..finished 2nd a length or so in front of Bazzana last time

It's impossible to giove them ratings as there's a good argument that the 5f winner in the maiden was on the best ground even though the other sprints they switched to far side. The time of the maiden only just slower than piazon, but only 4 1/2ls back to the 44 rated horse yet piazons race they were in the centre of the track. That if right would make it even more complex as that would mean the first maiden winner was on the worst of the ground at the start of the meeting. But then it rained in between races and just to top it off the older handicap the last race was 1/2 second slower than the maiden won by the filly.

Dick whittington

It's worth keeping an eye on dick Whittington, this debut run was unlucky in running and just touched off by Saturday winner capella sansevero and was only debut run, also the time was decent only 1.11 seconds slower than the following handicap won by due diligence off 97.There looked lots of improvement to come, but on sunday getting beat at the curragh on desperate ground. The form of that race looks completely false, the winner was outclassed by dick Whittington on deut actually beat it further than the great war did on debut as well 7ls.The time also backs this up,a massive 4.43 seconds slower than the following handicvap indicating the 2yr olds hated the ground.I won't be backing this at short prices as I rarely back o'briens horses anyway but he should be overpriced on this run he should impriove for better ground and probably the removal of the hood which was also very strange. He may just go to ascot now and go there underated at a price that would not reflect his chances as debut run looked at least as good as 101 rpr capella sansevero and may just be a little bit of value.

Getting close to ascot and from whats beebn seen so far the formlines and times look very mediocre although not many have run two races.I was looking at the York race won by 2yr old beldale memory last season from the last weeks York card, the later handicap 3yr old handicap won by moviesta was .38 slower so a decent time at this time last year for the 2yr old race.
The corresponding races this year the evans horse won the race in 1.19 seconds slower just showing how weak the 2yr olds have been so far,the 5th from that race is fav today for the Hilary needler in what is an absolute abysmal race..

Persun
Expensive date

This race is usually not great in terms of the best 2yr olds but the tume compared favourably with alutiq winning on the same card last season, the winner and thirds form hadn't look that great but the time appears about right for the grade. That being the case then persun and expensive date have run well on their debuts only beaten 1l and 3/4,persun filly out of sir percy and dam 2m hurdle and chase winner. She will surely be a big improver with step up in trip and mick channon has already shown he has some nice 2 yr olds and the stables horses are running well.Expensive date paul cole runner looking outpaced over this trip, related to bungleinthejungle, group therapy and waveband. The clock suggests they've run well for debut runs,so should at least be interesting early season and may just get underestimated in perhaps weak listed races...

Completely different class to that lot will be better over further 1.85 on betfair!!:ninja::ninja:KKKKKAAAABBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!;)

The race at newbury was slow by 1.57 seconds on debut as opposed to the slow by7.30 at Leicester on desperate ground, made todays massuive value would've been 1/3.Been loads beaten lately as I mentioned above on heavy ground like dick Whittington etc just creates value on the formlines though...

Hillybillyboy

The ever improving hillybilly boy hacking up by 5ls off 88,you would think now that would be an end to his improvement, there is no denying it has been huge improvement last 4 runs and today was the best of the lot.Looking at the times of the races on the card today, the time suggests he's produced something a bit special with ease of the win although the new mark will put him in top class handicaps now I would imagine he will be having ago at listed races at some point.Although he had looked exposed with his aw record he is pretty unexposed as only 11 runs on turf and now won 3. Looking through the last few seasons times there in this particular race, the winning time suggests he's run to another level and he could still be well handicapped. He will be lucky to get his ground as today, but I will be looking out for the autumn handicvaps and a close eye on his entrys..

Sultanina
Desert snow

An interesting fillies maiden at sailsbury and these early meetings there do throw up some nice progressive types, songbird won on the card last season although I don't think these will be in that bracket.Infact they maybe needed to treat with slight caution as both winner and runner up were hooded. The 4yr old conceding the weight 10-0 in winning from a long way back ,but interestingly running .95 quicker than crystal nymph winning the 3yr old handicap class 4 earlier on the card off 8-10 rated 72 her future mark will be really interesting. So the times and ratings look very good for the maiden winner and runner up 3yr old desert snow,if taking thiose times literally you could give desert snow a rough rating of 84 and the improvement on top.I'm not convinced the earlier handicap was much of a race but still makes this maiden look pretty decent. Also the third is worth mentioning now after 3rd run,she also ran .40 quicker than the handicap winner and carried more weight yet her present rpr is only 70 hopefully the 4th cascading won't affect her mark and she could also be well handicapped. She looked like she had this won 2fs out just probably being infrint to soon. She will be able to contest siome very weak handicaps in the 70s..

A taking win from the only twice raced colt winning off 82 by 6ls in a canter, this was also backed up by the winning time. The 82 rated colt running .43 quicker than Aeolus winning the listed race rated 101,the colt even carried more weight 5 pound more. His new mark will be very interesting as he looks miles beyond his mark I presume he wil be put on 95 which will still make him backable in handicaps and at least on this ground on his way to group races.
As I've mentioned over the last 2 weeks most of the form of these decent winners has been on this very slow ground,so a lot of these winnners may have till wait till the autumn for similar conditions..

Another 3yr old that could be way ahead of the handicapper and heading for better things and again today was only second run winning easily by 5lsc eased with a furlong to go.Again the ground was pretty slow but the time was very quick, carrying 4 pound more than bondesire winning the older handicap earlier on the card off 92,yet only .10 slower but the latters time could've been a lot quicker. He looks like he maybe given a mark in high 80s yet has run as quick as 90+ older horses off levels with loads of improvement to come. The form has come at chester and on very slow ground, but he looks one to follow and again his mark will be very interesting he again could go onto be better than a handicapper..

An interesting sprint and think it will throw up plenty of winners, the time of this race was .65 slower than the previous days 2yr old race run there but the ground was a lot slower so comparituively these could be different class. The previous nights class 2 3yr old handicap was only .03 slower than todays Victoria cup and although that race was reasonable they were pretty exposed 3yr olds the time difference only .03 between them and the 102 rated progressive gabriels lad.The other races also on the card showing how the ground had gone from good to good/sft through the day, backing up the 5f race times.
The winner moonraker was the only runner to go with the pace and finish in the first 5 the next four all finishers so even better performance, although the haggas horse mubtaghaa had to be switched wide so the looked of comparative ability. Some lovely pedigress the winner related to group therapy, half brother bungle in the jungle 108,muarrab 113 and waveband.Winslow staying on at finish us pedigree half brother breders cup juvenile new years day 118,dam 113 and the 4th was an eyecatcher not getting clear run the hannon second string slightly better than this run as stopped in run.To add a bit more substance to the form, the paco kid was easily brushed aside in 6th betaen over 7ls and he had been 4th to kasb on debut in newbury race that has already thrown up 3 winners and unlucky loser in kibaar. This maiden along with last weeks at Newmarket look the best 2yr old seen so far by some way!!!

Backed it last night at 16s,10s and 8s was always going to be first or second fav, laid a load off at 3.95 no chance I would've said back it at morning prices.
It's virtually impossible to get any value at the moment with the ground changing every 5 mins or mid meeting, been back doing the placepots which I normally leave during the summer but with the ground the way it is just easier than picking winners at the moment!

Mind of madness

The best 2yr old seen so far, although the form doesn't probably amount to much I like the time on the card winning by 4 1/2ls hacking up,spencer was 3ls off the pace from 2 1/2 furlongs out and looking behind as he knew what he had underneath.David brown is a trainer I like with 2 yrolds and I'm sure he will have his eye on the Coventry or something at ascot, this maynit even be his best. The winner could've won 10ls so the time looks pretty decent for debut run and the ground wasn't good, gdfm in places as was put up was verging on slow side of good which was always going to be the case as Monday was watered.Very little to compare to anything yet but undoubtedly will be running at ascot could easily be top class..

Mind of madness 10/1 for the Coventry 365/skybet/boyles/sjames/racebetsThe great war looks the obvious pick but mind of madness might be a little bit of value and I like very little else in the race..

Sors

Ellenvelyn

This was a strange piece of form as winner had been runner up to beach belle at the curragh and just touched off two nemcomers on very heavy ground. This must surely be dubious form as the time was .28 quicker than the following handicap won by thrilled to bits off 75 carrying 8-4 the winner and runner up carried 15 pound more and ran quicker which would be unheard of on debut runs.I havn't looked at sectionals and as I rarely look at irish form and with the trainer of the third never had a winner from 63 runners I will take it as present as form to note but not take to seriously.I would presume the other runners in the handicap did not go on the ground they were beaten 2 3/4ls,2 3/4ls and 1 3/4ls which would put them miles behind the 2yr olds and the second rated 95.It all looks very strange, what it does show that the second and third do go on desperate ground their sires actually had a preference for faster ground which makes the runs look even stranger.

It's worth keeping an eye on as so early in the season it cannot possibly be as good as first appears, but with unfashionable trainer in third there maybe some value and the trainer of second Andrew slattery trains an saighdiur so maybe still some substance to the form. The probability is the conditions have produced these flattering times, but will keep a close on the race and their next entries!!

Sors runs today at Naas - how do you rate his chances Andy?

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

If the ground had been soft/heavy I might've backed sors and Toscanini ew as the first two in betting havn't run on it,but the ground is fcast as gd/yielding when I've looked at results previously usually means ground is pretty quick.
Just be watching them today,3 listed races on the card and a 3yr old listed race which on the times might give some clue to how good the 2yr olds are.Hopefully will be some decent pace in the races..

Smaih

Probably not as good as it looked this race even though 4 previous winners, the time seemed decent on good ground, was only .22 slower than kool kompanys win over the c/d when the ground was quicker recently. This was only smaihs debut so could be big improver out of paco boy so the time relative to his run is much more interesting although the winner carried 10-0 which probably indicates that this wasn't as good as first looked with all the winners in the race.Smaih should be a lot more interesting stepped up in trip as he gave these a 4-5l start on debut, beaten just 1/2l..

El viento

The only eyecatcher in the race and probably of the weekend, was second last with 2 furlongs to go having been drawn wide in 16 and having been at that disadvantage to eventually end up near the farside finishing full of running compared to the rest of the field. He's not particularly well handicapped on 91 has been around these marks for last three seasons although he's now on last winning mark. These races are very competitive, but he does seem to go on any ground and any track and is effective over 5 and 6fs,doesn't win to frequently so I wouldn't be backing at short prices just because of this one run.His mark may well drop again so looks a bit more attractive although quite interesting that he has never won before the month of july...

off 55 june 2013 that looks about his level now although today was big eyecatcher in better cklass race.James Sullivan dropped him in,no intention iof leading on the natural front runner and 2 furlongs out looked to be cantering sitting off the pace. The front two went 5ls clear and when he got a clear run really picked uop, wouldv'e been easily second best and would've gone up a few pound in the weights.Today was also over a trip he's never looked comfortable with running style,he is obviously well handicapped off 50 but you wouldn't want to take short prices on last 2 seasons profile but he has to be worth a few bets off current mark.

Blazeofenchantment

One of the strangest rides I've seen in a long time,so bad you would think it couldn't possibly be deliberate but looking at iot several times there can be no excuse. On leaving the stalls after 50 yards jock was looking over his shoulder which seems strange on viewing as he'd already lost a few lengths,he then proceeded to drop drop him out further and even allowed officer in command to pass him so he could go on the rail and canter round.
The horse has only just joined the stable, probably unbackable after this run as it was so blatant pretty sure it will be a few runs before it's allowed to run its race as was noticed by everyone. One to keeop in notebook, probably around October...:D
