Golden steps

Very lightly raced and highly progressive 3yr old on only 4th lifetime run beating 90+ older horses he could well be heading for listed group races as he progresses through the handicaps. The most interesting thing was the rise in class, yesterday I pointed out the times differences between the 3yr olds handicap at York and the class 4 older horses of which there was little diofference. On this form golden steps has performed way beyond anything in that class 2 yesterday, kickboxer beat golden steps on soft ground at Leicester but was still carrying 15 pound less than 80 rated dark castle yesterday and slower time, today golden steps has beaten 88 rated older horse receiving 11 pound. The improvement must've been expected with this entry as would've been difficult to pick on yesterdays form and times,he just looks massively progressive some of it maybe down to the better ground but will look thrown in against own age group and looks worth following. He may just be running in group races later in season, the only ? I would have would be on proximity of the whole field as only a couple of lengths separated the whole field but was impressive as came from way off the pace where the next three wwre up throughout...

Harrys dancer

One of the best speedfigures seen from the 2yr olds and from less fashionable trainer, the time compares very favourably with any runners seen this season never mind at the smaller traxcks like thirsk. The time infact is probably one of the quickest seen in recent seasions at tracks like thirsk and ripon etc, last season ventura mist ran at this meeting was 1.27 seconds slower than the class 4 handicap but that was second run, ventura mist went onto win the Hilary needler.
Today harrys dancer on debut has only run .58 slower than tumblewind winning that corresponding class 4 off 84,jock was actually looking round with a furlong to go and he already looks listed class hacking up on the day!His maiden win also only .91 slower than noble storm winning off 99 in the later class 2,the Hilary needler is coming up soon and looks obvious entry and looks worth taking some early prices if entered!!

12/1 Queen mary, have already put Anthem alexander up at 6/1 likely now N/R so harrys dancer looks a bit of value at 12s even though run nowhere near as good as Anthem alexander just as good as anything else left in...

Jungle cat
Sixty

An interesting maiden with fav aledaid coming out of adaays winning maiden and now second fav for Coventry again showing the formlines to not be that reliable and not that surprising as times have been slow this season.
Mark Johnston has shown very little with his 2yr olds in way of quality, this maybe one of his best out of iffraaj flopped on debut on desperate ground. He showed great attitude in this race making all,the time was decent only .41 slower than the highly progressive stepping out and divine in following handicap, normally I wouldn't get to carried away with this on the time against 3yr olds I get the impression he's a group horse.
The same applys to sixt this was only debut run,he's half brother to graphic and beat aledaid finishing in third easily desite racing only 2ls off the rail from the winner. If you watch the replay and the line he veeered off he's probably travelled another 3/4ls further than the winner so looks very promising and that is backed up by the time. These two also carried more wweight than the two in the handicap, lots of positives and the rest of the field were strung out like washing. As there's been to many negatives regarding the 2yr old formlines and positives regarding these two i'd be tempted to have some bets on these two if I could get some big prices in future listed/group races!!

Have backed jungle cat at 33s and 25s for coventry still 25s with tote, betfred, victor, hills
Had put up dick Whittington at 25s don't know why O'Brien took out the great war and dick whittingtion as the best piece of form in the race is the kool company and war envoy but horses behind in that race through formlines with the great war and dick whittinton suggest they could've been far superior.Jungle cat will have to impriove but atv 25s worth a small bet as the form of the front of the market doesn't look that great..

Razor wind

This form looked nothing to get excited about but the Appleby horse got no run a furlong out against horses with previous experience their form didn't look particularly strong. It may have been a weak maiden, but the third when switched in final 100 yards was finishing twice as quick probably would've won 2/3ls in another 100yards so maybe different grade to these but probably down to the weakness of the form.Out of dubawi and half brother to French 1000 guineas winner tie black, probably won't be great value but worth looking out for on next couple of runs may just make a nice handicapper.

Ran a cracker will have to settle for the place, has to be said though looking at the proximity of other runners form looks desperate, the fillies will probably be better..

As it stands today the highs were huge advantage the 2yr old ward horse only .10 slower than sole power which looks wrong and means the second union rose would've only been beat 4ls and its form was poor going onto the race. Also last seasons winner of the Windsor was just around a second slower so union rose has performed better than last years winner, the standside must be far quicker as the Windsor looked a poor race bar obviously the winner...

Anthem alexander

One of the best times,if not the best this season and performance and by a filly winning by 7ls hacking up in a very quick time. The following handicaop won by 92 rated my good brother in the older handicap carrying just 4 pound more but the filly looking far superior hoirse with ease of win and quicker by .04.This comes out of the blue, been very weak looking formlines and virtually nothing on the clock, this stands hand and shoulders time wise so far and worth backing her in everything she's entered. She could well be underestimated, she has produced more on the clock than present favs tggy wiggy and patience alexander in the queen mary..she's also related to dandy man and her dam won the molecomb...

Was obviously a big advantage and todays time bears that out again the highs figured in the quuen mary bar the winner so probably better than it looks and again strangely the time was slower than the Windsor but looked better race, but the first two were drawn high even though ground was quicker. Then again last two races nothing drawn below 14 placed in first 4,infact 18 in the last....

Queen catrine

An unlucky loser queen catrine dropped in from her 18 draw but unable to take advantage and after being dropped in from standside eventually switching round the whole field to be just beaten a sh/hd.She must've travelled 4/5ls further than any other runner so although off 102 she is still relatively unexposed over this trip and the waiting tactics suited her as well. The time was almost identical to the older horses she could well be back at ascot for another of these and looks one to follow..

Dutch breeze
Piccadily jim]

This looked a poor maiden before the off, dutch breeze had been beaten at4/6,1/2 and 2/1 previously hadn't looked well handicapped off 78 at least on the clock. It maybe improved form if the time is anything to go by hacking up as previous winner kickboxer on the card off 89 in very similar style but the 78 rated horse only .08 slower but carrying 7 pound more.He won't be going up in the weights.it maybe the track suited with undulations at ripon so mabe worth looking at back here. He's still lightly raced open to improvement and could be overpriced as this win maybe overlooked s his previous form looked suspect. If the winners run well in a decent time then the second piccadily jim has also with only a rpr of 60,he only has 3 runs so definite room for improvement and finished this race off strongly and hopefully won't go up much for future handicaps.I think he will go up 5 pound for this run which should leave him on a nice mark, the time also compared well to the older horse class 6 on first race of the card as well so these times should work oput.
Always worth looking at ripon for these horses as sometimes they just run well here so I wouldn't discount if they don't run well elsewhere could be some nice value in these two..

Red primo
Incurs four faults

Hopefully this race will get underestimated and the winner and second may end up well handicapped the runner up only rated 39 after three runs showing nothing. The winner was impressive on debut and could've won by a far greater distance, the following handicap won by klynch was only .35 quicker klynch off lowest mark since june 2011 so looked extremely well handicapped off 75 and adding more substance to the maiden time. The marks of the winner and runner up in the maiden are going to be very interesting the second equally as only rated 39 tried to make all passed by winner 2fs out but then again really picking up again at finish.
Incurs four faults is bred for further as well so can only improve with step up in trip and with their following marks likely to be underestimated they could also be worth following onto the turf.To look at first glance the form looks very weak and hopefully that will reflected in prices,it looks a classic race where the handicapper cannot be to harsh and might get caught out!!

Adams ale

An unlucky loser adams ale this 5yr old seems to show his best form at ripon
today had 3/4 fron runners inside of him which got him 4/5 ls out his ground shuffled back.He then got no run and was almost unseated and did well to get third,he's still only had the 15 runs his profile looks far better at this track then anywhere else.Already this season has two 3rd to angus og and kimberella in better grade than todays race and last season was 2nd to cheviot inn a grade 3 on the track. The ground seems to be pretty immaterial and his form shows that 5fs and 6fs suits,he sits on a mark of 71 may even get a drop to 70 which would be an added bonus. He will probably be overbet next time out,but he looks more interesting when running at ripon as usually leads up from a decent draw on this track he looks worth following as looks track specialist.

Seamster

A very poor race but the winner 7yr old seamster seems to be running to another level with different headgear and drop to 6fs on these surfaces,,hacked up here could've probably won another 2-3ls.Was only winning off 48 today, don't think the handicapper can be to harsh on an exposed 7yr old has been beaten in this grade numerous times over 7fs and could well still be able to run in this grade when turned out again.
Although seemingly exposed has only had 23 runs on aw as 7yr old so in that respect hasn't had a lot of racing,on previous run at Kempton was second to indus river which was a pointer to todays race. The time of that race for the grade was good 1m12.52 and looking at similar grade races there recently at least 1/2 second quicker so he may well be running to a slightly higher level than present marks. At Kempton or lingfield he could well still be value and interesting to see iof he can follow this up and worth chancing a couple of bets,if he repeats this form would be very unfortunate to find something to beat him in this grade....

Well done mate, you never lose it! I did have a sneaky dabble myself so thank you.

Did see your post,i could've replied and said there was no value in the price which there probably wasn't when I saw the post but 9/10 everyone backs them if I say I've backed them regardless of the price. The 11/4 5/2 would've been minimum for me from that draw even though he looked a grade above them as I had to back it ew.

Dhaular dhar

12 year old veteran now, hasn't won since October 2011 but has been running really consistently this and last season, last season only had 4 runs a third to snooky and seattle drtive off 59 on gd/sft at Newcastle was a decent pice of form. This season he's had 6 runs and only run one poor race the other 5 staying on in every race and races that have thrown up lots of winners between them.He has been unfortunate that in his last 10 runs he's only had 3 thirds yet remains on the same mark he opened on last season of 59.He's also not had the races run to suit nearly all races he's contested the pace has held up and the front runners or racing near the pace has involved the finishers. He probably needs a little bit of cut and I can still see him popping up in a race full of front runners, although he maynot get the ground for awhile he may just pop up at a massive price when ground suits or autumn time.I'll be noting him regardless of whether he knocks up a few 0s on faster ground and still look out for him in the autumn if he doesn't get right conditions.

Santefisio

Couldv'e been an unlucky loser santefisio out the back giving the first five a 4/5l start and was clear to see was travelling well at halfway and then not getting a clear run and having to come up the disadvantaged centre as queen catrine previous day.The 8yr old rarely wins but doesn't run to often his mark hasn't moved because of his runs in this race last year when unlucky loser again when 4th on wrong side.
He's on a mark of 100 will always be vulnerable to progressive types but likes it here,is being kept back for these races at ascot last 6/7 runs on turf have been here and always worth a bet at big prices as he could've won this race the last two seasons!!Two of my to follows I put on here early season horsted Keynes was runner up he will probably keep progressing to maybe run in group races but won't be much value. The other was hillybillyboy I put on here after last win,he came out of the 12 draw and jock was indecisive what to do must've conceded 4/5ls just eventually going over to farside trying to make all he was bar far the best horse on that side the ground conceded and on ground he would not have liked. He still looks progressive that run was far better than final result on wrong side and I think he will win again especially on right ground.

Rivellino

Running theme of the week, the draw huge advantage to be drawn high all the mile 7fs and 6f races won by the high draws winners of thiose races drawn 27,29,26,33 and 22.I've mentioned a few this week that have run well from central draws that finished well and had to stay in the middle, todays were similar rivellino in the 12 draw infact lowest draw to hit the first 4 in any of the standside handicaps thios week.A few ran well up the centre in this race the professor and boomerang bob,the professor eventually switched to finish slightly closer to styands side probably finishing slightly stronger than rivellino.
Rivellinos only run 7 times on turf so now has proved himself on surface after all his aw runs where he achieved his rating, now proven at ascot will undoubtedly be returned here and although on a mark of 104 he could win one of these big handicaps over this c/d especially without a disadvantageous draw.

Richard pankhurst

Not sure how this will work out as dick Whittington had looked different class to Toscanini on debut yet that form was turned around today,it may have been the winner was the only one that truely stayed the trip on this ground everything else in the race looked one paced at finish. The race was run up the centre of the track as opposed to yesterdays Buckingham palace where the draw came up again so they were running on the slower part of the track. That being the case then the time seemed respectable only .73 slower than louis the pious winning off 99 drawn 29 and this was only richard pankhursts second start so the form and time looks as good as anything that's run this week from the 2yr olds..

Amazing blue sky

On downgrade for 2 seasons amazing blue sky was rated 79 2012,dropped into the 50s 2013 won
off 55 june 2013 that looks about his level now although today was big eyecatcher in better cklass race.James Sullivan dropped him in,no intention iof leading on the natural front runner and 2 furlongs out looked to be cantering sitting off the pace. The front two went 5ls clear and when he got a clear run really picked uop, wouldv'e been easily second best and would've gone up a few pound in the weights.Today was also over a trip he's never looked comfortable with running style,he is obviously well handicapped off 50 but you wouldn't want to take short prices on last 2 seasons profile but he has to be worth a few bets off current mark.
