Anthem alexander

One of the best times,if not the best this season and performance and by a filly winning by 7ls hacking up in a very quick time. The following handicaop won by 92 rated my good brother in the older handicap carrying just 4 pound more but the filly looking far superior hoirse with ease of win and quicker by .04.This comes out of the blue, been very weak looking formlines and virtually nothing on the clock, this stands hand and shoulders time wise so far and worth backing her in everything she's entered. She could well be underestimated, she has produced more on the clock than present favs tggy wiggy and patience alexander in the queen mary..she's also related to dandy man and her dam won the molecomb...

Intrepid

The times from yesterday are hard to work out,as this the best race on the card should've been a lot quicker than the other 7f races, putin rated 62 was only .16 slower in the class 6 the maiden was only .28 slower and frankthetank was only .57 slower in the seller.Looking art those times you would think the pace must've collapsed yet in all 7f races the pace held up,i havn't looked at the sectionals I don't have time and rarely benefits although might be worth checking out why these races were so similar. It suggests putins run way above hios mark as 6yr old which seems unlikely and the sellers time is to close as well.Just looking at the bare form of two moons race though looks solid, piceno has been running some of his best ever form and repetition has been improving andf two moons looked well handicapped as well so the whole race looks solid. That being the case then the run of intrepid off 71 on first run for ian Williams looks encouraging, doesn't have a great profile but still only the 11 lifetime runs. Was out the back and jock decided to come stands side which may or may havenot cost him the race.He was finishing strongly at finish, although looking at his run up the straight looked to be carrying his head high,if that's the case then was even better run.He maybe worth following back at swell this could be his surface another drop of a pound and can even drop in grade, the form looks solid and he might just be a bit of value as potentially could still improve!!

Sellingallthetime

The track officially standard which when I first saw this time thought was exceptional, ali Rawlinson looking round 2fs out and just kidding him home in canter and eased 1/2 a furlong out.He won this off 65 but the way he won and the time at first glance gives the impression of something nearer 90,the times have been flattering over the 2 days with the track being quick so better to slightly underestimate it.The horse looks big improver for surface though,he will go up to at least 77 after this run but with mick Appleby training he may just go on improving it even with flattering time he could've lowered that by maybe another second even more. He's worth watchiong closely back here in better class handicaps and will be worth risking even off revised marks..

Abseil

This was a decent time by the 4yr old stoute horse, his second run as 4 yr old the time of the race fast by .74 compared very favourably with the 3 yr old handicap for runners up to 90.The winner of that race shyron winning off 8-0 over 7fs the time fast by .73 over a furlong less rated 76 but the 4yr old in the maiden carryuing 9-13.The comparative times and weight differences from the ratings plus only abseils only second ever race and looks lots of improvement to come. He's out of top class dam intercontinental was 3rd in the 1000 guineas and won 13 of her 22 races in the usa beating Ouija board on her last run at breeders cup on turf.At this stage abseil could be anything....

That's the spirit

An eyecatching win as it was debut run and hacked up the winning distance could easily have been another 4-5ls and the previous two handicaps might be point to his potential mark on this run.His winning time only .18 slower than manchestar winning off 8-9 rated 72 and the second div 1.06 seconds slower than hilly billy boy rated 82 carrying 9-5.His win looked the equivalent of hillybilly boy which would suggest he's probably run around the 90 mark already. After this win will be running against similar types probably won't be any value but worth checking out the mark he gets as there could be a fair bit of improvement on top as well.

An interesting maiden with fav aledaid coming out of adaays winning maiden and now second fav for Coventry again showing the formlines to not be that reliable and not that surprising as times have been slow this season.
Mark Johnston has shown very little with his 2yr olds in way of quality, this maybe one of his best out of iffraaj flopped on debut on desperate ground. He showed great attitude in this race making all,the time was decent only .41 slower than the highly progressive stepping out and divine in following handicap, normally I wouldn't get to carried away with this on the time against 3yr olds I get the impression he's a group horse.
The same applys to sixt this was only debut run,he's half brother to graphic and beat aledaid finishing in third easily desite racing only 2ls off the rail from the winner. If you watch the replay and the line he veeered off he's probably travelled another 3/4ls further than the winner so looks very promising and that is backed up by the time. These two also carried more wweight than the two in the handicap, lots of positives and the rest of the field were strung out like washing. As there's been to many negatives regarding the 2yr old formlines and positives regarding these two i'd be tempted to have some bets on these two if I could get some big prices in future listed/group races!!

Barnet fair

Steps was the unlucky loser in this race and was big eyecatcher,he will be priced accordingly in future so will probably not be much value. The other eyrcatcher in the race was barnet fair, drawn 2 crossing over to stands side then switching to outer of field again with 2fs to go,wasn't really given a hard race with a furlong to go as jock accepted he couldn't win.He must've travelled 4/5ls further than any other runner in the field and although he doesn't win very often and seems to be stuck in the low 90s(last winning mark off 90 at ascot last season)he looks capable of winning off current mark with a chance of a drop. Was the second best in the race today bar steps so plenty of encouragement for the bigger handicaps in summer from a decent draw..

Regal parade

The draw a big advantage again over the 6fs the 1st,2nd and 4th filled the first 3 places throughout, regal parade in 4 couldn't go the pace early getting shuffled back and having to eventually cover more ground by running widest and motoring to be nearest finish. He hasn't been placed in the first 3 since may 2013 is on lowest mark since april 2008,he obviously retains plenty of ability and even on ground faster than preferable today. He's on a mark of 87 was 6th in the ayr gold cup last season off 97, I don't know if he will be good enough to compete in that race but wouldn't be suroprised to see him run well in autumn handicaps at York or maybe the silver cup at ayr.
Again baby strange was huge eyecatcher, out the back 8ls off the pace on rail then switched to middle of track then eventually switched inside losing numerous lengths throughout. These two stood out in this race at respective ages of 10 against the pace advantage, baby strange similarkly conditions against him on quicker ground.I put him on here after Donny,he's been massive eyecatcher on last 6/7 runs he either gets no luck in running or the ground goes against and is looking on a mark that a race should fall into place off just 79.Off current mark he looks a real nice bet the problem will be taking advantage and getting the right ground!!

An interesting sprint and think it will throw up plenty of winners, the time of this race was .65 slower than the previous days 2yr old race run there but the ground was a lot slower so comparituively these could be different class. The previous nights class 2 3yr old handicap was only .03 slower than todays Victoria cup and although that race was reasonable they were pretty exposed 3yr olds the time difference only .03 between them and the 102 rated progressive gabriels lad.The other races also on the card showing how the ground had gone from good to good/sft through the day, backing up the 5f race times.
The winner moonraker was the only runner to go with the pace and finish in the first 5 the next four all finishers so even better performance, although the haggas horse mubtaghaa had to be switched wide so the looked of comparative ability. Some lovely pedigress the winner related to group therapy, half brother bungle in the jungle 108,muarrab 113 and waveband.Winslow staying on at finish us pedigree half brother breders cup juvenile new years day 118,dam 113 and the 4th was an eyecatcher not getting clear run the hannon second string slightly better than this run as stopped in run.To add a bit more substance to the form, the paco kid was easily brushed aside in 6th betaen over 7ls and he had been 4th to kasb on debut in newbury race that has already thrown up 3 winners and unlucky loser in kibaar. This maiden along with last weeks at Newmarket look the best 2yr old seen so far by some way!!!

Moonraker 33/1 victor/racebets for Coventry, may only be a 5f horse but no 33/1 shot on form..

Carrera

Probably carreras best ever aw run only on a mark of 54 the pace was pretty decent with time of race ok for the grade splitting the progressive Tee it up tommo and well handicapped prince of Burma just getting touched off. There was 2 1/2ls back to recent winner nubar boy in 4th the form looks solid especially for horse off only 54,he has previous form at Kempton but not as good as this.Lingfield may be his track travelled really well into the race looks wouldn't necessarily think he's pace dependant on the way he travelled in this race and from such a low mark, worth giving a few chances!!

Sir frank morgan

A Johnston horse coming back off long lay off hadn't run since October 2012 was out of the handicap, but the 4yr old gelding out of top class sire montjeu was big eyecatcher. He was passed by the eventual second and third woth 1/2 mile to go then he eventually picked up going away, just running off a mark of 46 there looks to be loads to come. This time of the season Johnston has usually sent out a few that are middle distance upwards turf horses and this looks like a classic example. This time last year Broxbourne was winning off 53,eventually winning off 89 last august, sir frank morgan although impossible to say how much improvement to come could well be another Johnston prolific winner..

Do you fancy Persun tomorrow Andy? Perhaps stuck in the mud last time, might be worth a bet though difficult to quantify the newcomers obviously. What do you think?

Someone used to email me about quite a few on my runners that were running in france last season had a couple of 2yr old winners.I was looking at the maiden and see tigrilla was second to janes memory, janes memory runner up in listed race in france to a 3 time winner and what appears to be a decent time.I don't look at the French results unless by accident or someone tells me so there are good bets floating around only this season started looking in Ireland at the 2yr old results and replays.I don't know where the Chantilly replays are which would be useful.I wouldn't guarantee particularly quicker ground at haydock tomorrow and with that formline makes it harder to back anything. If it was quick ground and persun was 3/1 then it would probably be worth an ew bet even shorter, but haydiock will probably be nearer soft than good never mind quicker. It now makes it look a very good maiden with the French form and persun if it dries out but impossible to know, think I will have to put some of the French runners up in the listed race as the 3rd and 4th hadn't even run and may appear over here at big prices...

Preciously

The race mentioned above run in Chantilly with janes memory runner up in this listed race so probably worth keeping an eye an eye on her still when running back over here. The 3rd 4th and 5th hadn't even run in this race,as I know very little about the French racing will just stick with mentioning the 3rd for now preciously only 2ls behind winner and runner up on debut. The time of the race was only .32 slower than son cesio 3yr old carrying 8-9 rated 100 beating mirza rated 108 in older horse listed race so the 2 yr old race looks pretty decent especially with the newcomers and improvement to come. Will probably never see the French runners and will lose track as never see the racing or results but they should be worth following..

Janes memoryWill add her on as only .32 slower than 100 rated 3yr old improver and carried 4 piund more, that matches most of the better times this season no reason she can't win more races as long as these French times stand up...

Hollie point

A race full of expensive purchases and decent pedigrees and the first and second doing well from their low draws, the race was quite compact at the end but think you could take a positive view of quite a few. Will just give a mention to the osbourne horse with Rachael kneller riding, was keen in running but as race progressed was still hacking up with 2fs to go but got no gap and appeared to be going better than the winner. There's a fair chance of her getting underestimated from this stable, when she got a gap she was nearest finish under hand's n' heels. There was no previous form in the race so at the moment would be speculation, but she will probably be the best value betting wise to come out of the race.
Hollie point was the other from the 1 draw right against far rail and travelling a lot further than any other runner dropped into stands side, then 2fs out coming right round the field and was picking up again at finish. She's got an interesting pedigree related to gossamer and barathea and should be more interesting over longer trips..

Dick whittington

It's worth keeping an eye on dick Whittington, this debut run was unlucky in running and just touched off by Saturday winner capella sansevero and was only debut run, also the time was decent only 1.11 seconds slower than the following handicap won by due diligence off 97.There looked lots of improvement to come, but on sunday getting beat at the curragh on desperate ground. The form of that race looks completely false, the winner was outclassed by dick Whittington on deut actually beat it further than the great war did on debut as well 7ls.The time also backs this up,a massive 4.43 seconds slower than the following handicvap indicating the 2yr olds hated the ground.I won't be backing this at short prices as I rarely back o'briens horses anyway but he should be overpriced on this run he should impriove for better ground and probably the removal of the hood which was also very strange. He may just go to ascot now and go there underated at a price that would not reflect his chances as debut run looked at least as good as 101 rpr capella sansevero and may just be a little bit of value.
..

Coventry 25/1 ppower, sjames, hills, corals as above bigger than Toscanini and capella sansevero priced at 16s,if he'd won his maiden on second run would've been probably 8/1 got to be worth a small bet at prices with ground more preferable as well, moonraker n/r.

Joey's destiny

Anything finshing well or close up over the last 2 days is worth marking up as nearly all the winners and places were with the pace in general so joey's destiny was one of the biggest eyecatchers of the two days.Flyman looked the horse to watch out for pre race as last run of the 2013 season had been 3rd to morache music and spinatrix off 90 with only the 10 runs.
Flyman was just off the pace from the 1 draw, infact there was little pace from the highs which made gave them little chance of figuring in the race sir reginal did well to get 4th and baby strange was an eyecatcher having to switch several times but from handicapping perspective they will be hard to win with.Joey's destiny is only rated 81 was out the back early and was nearest finish to finish second plenty of opportunities off this mark as 4yr old like winner only 10 runs and open to improvement.....

Anthem Alexander 5/1 ppower Queen mary,it was never going to be bigger than 5/1 on this run, only the one book up will back it again if bigger but unlikely.Already put up likely at 9/1 now 5/1 also got harrys dancer in there which also has one the nicest times. Will leave that till the day as I expect Anthem alexander to shorten plus there's a ward horse in the race that's 4/1 fav..

Highland acclaim

Highland acclaim looks really interesting today after this win,the winning time
of this race only .01 slower than see the sun winning off 90 carrying 8-7 in 20 runner 3yr old handicap as opposed to highland acclaim also 3yr old carrying 8-13 rated 80.On this run even with rise will still make him look extremely well handicapped if if repeating this run.The top race at newmarket when 100/1 looking like false form but after today now looks rock solid form magnus maximus hasn't run since given a rating of 101.The second toofi has been touched off in listed race rated 102,the 3rd nadir has been runner up to musical comedy in a listed race and was runner up today in that 3yr old handicap at York off 9-5 rated 102.Highland acclaim was 4th and had dropped to 80 was nearest finish in that race and even at sandown today the 5th one chance was staying on behind windfire and gforce in the hot listed race.On his revised mark he looks really well handicapped now he's won and backed up by the clock and previous form at Newmarket...At first looks to good to be true but if you taker the run at Newmarket when 2/3/4ls behind naadirs rating and that ones run today off 102 plus see the suns rating it almost franks both formlines and makes him look a mid 90s horse....

Bennelong

Have to give old timer Bennelong a mention after winning the hands and heels apprentice race, winning by 9ls but also in a decent time with the worst jockey in the race.Winning off a mark of just 49,shows even at 8 he retains ability over this trip yet been running over distances ranging from 1m4fs up to 2 mile over the last 3/4 seasons.Current trainer has only had him for last 6 runs and has obviously realized he still has ability over a mile, was reflected in tonights sp.He also brought him back to kemption, where he had previously run his best races over a mile back in 2009,everything panned out well for him in this race but with a decent pace under similar conditions will still be interesting even with rise in weights.

Seve

Not in the best times this season but still only 1.13 seconds slower than peterkin 3yr old rated 85 later on the card in a decent race, seve carrying 6 pound more.Only debut run looked green running around in final furlong, related to Ballesteros so possibly better or at least as good on softer ground he could be listed level, quite a few with speedfigures like this but as its at chester and he may return here then worth noting.
