Alfresco
Gypsy rider

These 7f races at lingfield always produce eyecatchers in these low grade races and I usually avoid most of them, but as the time was very good for the grade and winner ghost train had been runner up to seamster and bertiebluboy was back in third after winning three races recently I will give a couple of them a chance.Alfresco 10 now on downgrade but a couple of times he has caught they eye, here he was nearest finish he's only off 52 had hardly any racing last season with some guaranteed pace he could pick up one of these before the end of the season.
Gypsy riders profile is of one to avoid 25 race maiden, but again was travelling really well off the strong pace in this race until stopped in run would've finished upsides alfresco with clear run.I wouldn't be backing gypsy rider under double figures but as this was a strong race for the grade and time was good if there's some pace on worth a small bet..

Limato
Cotai glory

A very fast looking time on the Friday card infact quicker than todays win by music master although that race was not run at a true clip this still looks a quick time for 2yr olds in a small field. The time on the day compared very favourably with the 5f sprint for older horses and looks massively improved form to me for not just the winner but the runer up as well.Adaay was back in third and was beaten 5 3/4l futyher than he was beaten by the wow signal at ascot so an interesting race.Last season on this card the 5f sprint was 1.60 seconds quicker than this years corresponding race which shows the ground was not as quick as the listed race would suggest and puts it in an even better light.
Limato has only had 3 runs he could be very decent from the candy stable and the second may just have improved again after a recent 6th to hootenay, there are lots of 2yr olds now clocking up decent times too many to write up and put on here.Quite a proliferation to be betting them but think the candy horse maybe worth risking in higher grade and the second may just go off bigger prices than it should in listed races..

Mr win

Don't know if mr win will be any value now as will be taking on similarly progressive horses in the high 70s but was unfortunate today in running aghainst tommys secret he looked absolutely chucked in and hard to believe the betting was so lobsided in the race.On previous run tommys secret had been staying on 4th to older horses rated in 70s and 80s at goodwood, yet mr win went off 1/2,tommys scret was even off 7 pound lower mark with the claim and the form had been franked by despot a place behind him at goodwood.Despot won on sunday hacking up off 80 by 4 1/2ls.With the form looking so good and mr win conceding 6 pound to the winner, the pace was not great either and the very good time mr win won in at lingfield it maybe worth giving him a chance as possibly could go off bigger than expected after getting beat at a short price today..

Luck of the game

This looked a very good race for the grade a classified stakes race running off levels the winner rated 75 runner up 71,ryan moore giving the son of yeats a positive ride and looking beat 2fs out eventually the stamina kicked in and in doing so producing a decent time. The winning time .49 quicker than the earlier handicap won by certavi 83 for older handicappers carrying 9-3 as opposed to their 9-0.Based on these two races the 3yr olds look nicely habndicapped off current marks and there should be some easy pickings for them on next runs especially the second. The second had only the one run seemed to be hacking up with 2 furlongs to go,would be harsh to say he didn't staty because of the time but unlike the winner 1m2fs would suit as well as the 1m4fs they look two to follow off these marks.

Stroll patrol
Primrose valley
To lesser degree looking out for marks in nurserys the 4th and 5th
Some show
Aqlette

A weak looking fillies maiden at first glance but a very interesting time and with two less fashionable trainers finishing first and second this form will probably get underestimated and they should be overpriced. The winner has an rpr of 74 and the runner up only 62,yert the time of this race was a second quicker than the the other 2yr old maiden won by 74 rated speedy move and also a second quicker than the older handicap which was run at decent clip. The winner of the older handicap could be anything and could be 2stone in but taking the runner up as the marker castorienta rated 69 the fillies current marks are looking very generous.Stroll patrol currently has an rpr of 74 no reason for it go up on this form and the runner up primrose valley was beaten 2 1/2ls easily she may go up 3 pounds for this run to around 65.They look very useful for nurserys off 74 and 65 on these times, plus under unfashionable trainers Mcbride and Vaughn. The form of primrose valley with 3/2/2 will be likely be dismissed yet tonight she has shown on the clock she is improving on turf over a fast 6fs.
There should be some nice value with these two in nurserys, what will alsio be interesting will be the marks of runners in behind as although beaten 6ls 3/4/5th they have still run near the time of the other maiden winner and hamdicap so they could be on really nice marks and with the Jarvis horse solstalla given an easy race on debut in 6th as well.An insignificant looking maiden that could throw up some real value!!

Wannabe yours

A top class time in this group 3 1.3 seconds quicker than the heritage handicap winner red avenger the winner and runner up already on my to follows look highly progressive.Red avenger rated 96 as 4yr old and yet they've run 1.3 seconds quicker and carried 2 pound more top class form for horses only rated 100 and 99,they have only had 5 and 6 runs a piece and the winner got not no run rider lost whip so he looks genuine group 1 horse.I presume handicap marks will be to high now with bow creek back in third, they could mop up the group races over the following couple of months with their profiles..

A decent time with 3 1/2ls back to the third the winner was in first time hood and pieces and the runner up was only having 7th lifetime run after winning at swell in very weak races.Whether the winner will repeat progress next time out but the runner up is only off revised mark of 62 and the form was franked tonight by he's my boy back in 4th sluicing up tonight in better grade at Newmarket..They could well pick some more races, where being up the front end is advantageous..

Barnet fair

Steps was the unlucky loser in this race and was big eyecatcher,he will be priced accordingly in future so will probably not be much value. The other eyrcatcher in the race was barnet fair, drawn 2 crossing over to stands side then switching to outer of field again with 2fs to go,wasn't really given a hard race with a furlong to go as jock accepted he couldn't win.He must've travelled 4/5ls further than any other runner in the field and although he doesn't win very often and seems to be stuck in the low 90s(last winning mark off 90 at ascot last season)he looks capable of winning off current mark with a chance of a drop. Was the second best in the race today bar steps so plenty of encouragement for the bigger handicaps in summer from a decent draw..

Highland acclaim

Highland acclaim looks really interesting today after this win,the winning time
of this race only .01 slower than see the sun winning off 90 carrying 8-7 in 20 runner 3yr old handicap as opposed to highland acclaim also 3yr old carrying 8-13 rated 80.On this run even with rise will still make him look extremely well handicapped if if repeating this run.The top race at newmarket when 100/1 looking like false form but after today now looks rock solid form magnus maximus hasn't run since given a rating of 101.The second toofi has been touched off in listed race rated 102,the 3rd nadir has been runner up to musical comedy in a listed race and was runner up today in that 3yr old handicap at York off 9-5 rated 102.Highland acclaim was 4th and had dropped to 80 was nearest finish in that race and even at sandown today the 5th one chance was staying on behind windfire and gforce in the hot listed race.On his revised mark he looks really well handicapped now he's won and backed up by the clock and previous form at Newmarket...At first looks to good to be true but if you taker the run at Newmarket when 2/3/4ls behind naadirs rating and that ones run today off 102 plus see the suns rating it almost franks both formlines and makes him look a mid 90s horse....

No hard luck storys in this nursery even with big field, probably will be stronger races as yesterdays at goodwood but the second made all till just getting collared by the winner. The winner did well held up off the pace, the pace held up well with most of the pace horses finishing 2nd 4th 5th one off my to follows prioze exhibit previously won by 9ls on the aw so the form looks relatively solid. The winner will be off 84 next time out which keeps her in the 85 bracket, she's still lightly raced only 4 runs and the time was only .37 slower than my to follows winner highland acclaim winning the older handicap off 87.The runner up will go up a couple of pound to probably 83 so similarly has lots of these winnable races, probably long term not worth following but there should be wins for them in immediate future. There didn't appear to be anything unlucky in behind they look the two to take from the race!

The best nursery seen so far and backed up by the clock,only.44 slower than barnet fair another one of my to follows winning today off 90 in the older handicap. The times look quite reliable as ground has looked consistently the same all week, genuine gd/fm ground with a little watering which didn't really affect the going times wise if it did was minimal.
Son of Africa will now be rated around 90 it looks like he will go on to contest listed races, similarly markaz will be bumped up another couple of pound into high 80s sunset sail was slightly outpaced and ran on well off a mark of 86.
The nurserys will be very competitive above the 85 mark so hard to say these are worth following but at this moment on these m,arks have produced the best times so they set the benchmark and worth following closely as more and more nursery times and comparisons can be made.Inniscastle lad was back in 4th,he came out of the maiden with pixeleen and home of the brave form that threw up several big priced winners in a week.Thios was only his 3rd run and still sits on 80 so could take a drop in grade and compete with the Newmarket nursery runners in the race run today.

Ridge ranger

Nice debut from winner trained by one of my fav sprint trainers eric alston,i'm always looking out for the odd one or two of his just incase he has a nice progressive handicapper.Ridge ranger gave these a 4l start where the psce was holding up in the sprints,so did well to win by 3ls quite convincingly at finish. There was rain at the meeting so hard to compare times but looking at the 5th race it looks as though it may have been mainly drizzle as times weren't affected that much throughout the evening. This half sister related to lots of winners invincible ride, ridge wood, full mandate, danidh Dubai and badr al badoor, the winning time was .69 slower than jamesbos girl rated 74 in the older handicap that time maybe better than it looks as she herself is regaining her form was 89 rated 2013.
The mark of the 3yr old would be a guestimate but an opening mark of 75 would seem workable as she did win convincingly with lots of improvement to come.

Never backed it,havn't been following it onto the turf like quite a few others that I'm not following.

What do you think of Silvanus tonight Andy?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Another 1,2 off the to follows although this season I havn't followed Silvanus can't really remember why I put it up originally as havn't seen write up don't have time to look through them all with new form around.I never even saw the race I just saw the sp which looked big,i never backed it when it won off 72 so just left it off 90.I reckon 60% of last years I probably have put a line through unless the same marks form and track come round again, that 60% are horses that showed one good run and never followed up on next couple of runs or others that are still high in the weights..Solar soirit was good example today of one that wasn't,thats on to follows and was this day last year it won at 16/1 today was off lowest mark for 4 seasons and back at favourite track think I put it up off 77 last season today off 73..

Bennelong

Have to give old timer Bennelong a mention after winning the hands and heels apprentice race, winning by 9ls but also in a decent time with the worst jockey in the race.Winning off a mark of just 49,shows even at 8 he retains ability over this trip yet been running over distances ranging from 1m4fs up to 2 mile over the last 3/4 seasons.Current trainer has only had him for last 6 runs and has obviously realized he still has ability over a mile, was reflected in tonights sp.He also brought him back to kemption, where he had previously run his best races over a mile back in 2009,everything panned out well for him in this race but with a decent pace under similar conditions will still be interesting even with rise in weights.

Blazeofenchantment

One of the strangest rides I've seen in a long time,so bad you would think it couldn't possibly be deliberate but looking at iot several times there can be no excuse. On leaving the stalls after 50 yards jock was looking over his shoulder which seems strange on viewing as he'd already lost a few lengths,he then proceeded to drop drop him out further and even allowed officer in command to pass him so he could go on the rail and canter round.
The horse has only just joined the stable, probably unbackable after this run as it was so blatant pretty sure it will be a few runs before it's allowed to run its race as was noticed by everyone. One to keeop in notebook, probably around October...:D

Got 33s just beaten, take out the winner wins by half the track the prices were huge through sofias number one form.A pity the value will be ruined, the stable souldv'e put it in lesser race probably would've got same prices as well!!!:ninja:

Ghost cat
Captain revelation

A decent time on the aw for 2yr old race .52 quicker than the older handicap won by guishan off 66 off same weight of 9-5,the OR rating of ghost cat is 78 which doesn't look as good on turf and the runner ups big improvement captain revelation after debut run.Thought these two are worth mentioning as beating older horses on the clock and they may return here in future, the seconds mark will be interesting now as was only on an rpr in the 50s.They may not show anything on turf or find the races to competitive they would become very interesting back over this c/d

Jonnie skull
Sairaam

Jonnie skull had been showing signs of coming into form, has great record at Yarmouth 7 wins from 28 races on decent ground, last season actually got to highest ever mark of 77 at the age of 7.He won off 71 highest winning mark as well, only last night running second when ground had changed so ran well under conditions that wouldn't have suited. He was turned out again today and and ground was still on the slow side slower than he had won on previously just getting up on the line after sairaam had led all the way down the centre of the track.
The last time sairaam won or placed was may 2012 and I put her up as a bet at 25/1 she made all at liecester and won at 15/2 I have backed her once or twice but she has shown virtually nothing apart from glimmers in recent couple of runs. She similarly run the night before and I was going to put her on the to follows as she ran ok beaten over 9ls but still better than anything she has done in recent times. Then she again like jonnie skull turned out again tonight and ran her best race since may 2012 as jonnie skull on ground she hasn't any decent form. When she did run well prior to 2012 she ran well at Yarmouth and liecester, thats where her best form was on decent good or gd/fm ground. On decent ground sghe was very consistent with lots of places on the mid to high 60s,it's worth chancing her now and although trainer is abysmal three winners last season one this season she was only off 45 today.
I expect her to run here or liecester she hopefully is coming into something like her old form..

Fendale

Another nice debut and from a stable that have had very little with 2 yr olds this season, the time of the race only .28 slower than 70 rated thatcherite the 2yr old hacked up by 5ls and carried 2 pound more than the older habndicappers. This wasn't as good as a few of the debutants seen the last couple of days but still up there with most of the best debuts.I can see this half brother to saayerr running at the northern tracks and getting underestimated and probably be taking on the poorer 2 yrolds that have won around those tracks. He could be really good value although he will be short prices there probably won't be much to beat around the smaller tracks..

Very impressive win from the 6yr old looked diofferent clas to these and the look of group horse running against handicappers, marco botti has only had him since December. He's been mainly running him in meydan in better races but his form as 3yr old when beating taleban 114 and invicuts 116 looked likely tobe top class. In 2012 was 4th behind plenty of kicks 116 and poker face 114,those runs were on very soft or heavy ground and strangely ground he has not raced on since 2012.Todays ground was only good but still looked different class,i suspect marco botti has another big handicaop in mind for the autumn on slower ground or will be back to group classes. He could well get underestimated and may well be back to his best form of a couple of seasons ago.Think its worth looking out for prices for some of the autumn handicaps as he could well be a thrown in...
