Daily picks.

Andy put it up at 9/1 last night, thinking it would go off half those odds so presume he's just trading it. I've gone for Pic of Burgau who won very easily over 5fs here last week, looked like it had loads in hand and certainly wasn't stopping, 6fs should suit, this race is more competative mind, but 5/1 seems fair to me.

An interesting fillies maiden at sailsbury and these early meetings there do throw up some nice progressive types, songbird won on the card last season although I don't think these will be in that bracket.Infact they maybe needed to treat with slight caution as both winner and runner up were hooded. The 4yr old conceding the weight 10-0 in winning from a long way back ,but interestingly running .95 quicker than crystal nymph winning the 3yr old handicap class 4 earlier on the card off 8-10 rated 72 her future mark will be really interesting. So the times and ratings look very good for the maiden winner and runner up 3yr old desert snow,if taking thiose times literally you could give desert snow a rough rating of 84 and the improvement on top.I'm not convinced the earlier handicap was much of a race but still makes this maiden look pretty decent. Also the third is worth mentioning now after 3rd run,she also ran .40 quicker than the handicap winner and carried more weight yet her present rpr is only 70 hopefully the 4th cascading won't affect her mark and she could also be well handicapped. She looked like she had this won 2fs out just probably being infrint to soon. She will be able to contest siome very weak handicaps in the 70s..

Faydhan

500,000usd out of warfront another top class looking 2yr old for gosden and backed up by the clock, the fastest debut run this season. The winning time .85 quicker than foxy clarets winning off 81 in the older handicap and the 2yr old carried a pound more. The going was again predictably fcast wrong so soft going yet agauin at haydock,if these times are accurate this is probably one of the best debut runs that you will see I can't remember much winning in a time like this bar something like strong suit at newbury on hios debut. He similarly to anthem alexander looks worth looking taking prices for in forthcoming entries,he could even be better over the extra furlong as well..

Strath burn

Another seemingly quick time on the day by debutant srtath burn, running .75 quicker than the earlier handicap won by 73 rated dawn catcher that time is probably a bit flattering with the apprentices that rode in the first race, but this was only debut run so looks pretty decent.Havn't really seen much in the way of 2yr olds from the hills stable this one maybe their best half brother to 6 winners and polar force.Lots of better 2yr olds running niow he may only still be an also run when entered in decent races but this was decent time on debut compare to a lot of the earlier masiden winners.

Another nice debut and from a stable that have had very little with 2 yr olds this season, the time of the race only .28 slower than 70 rated thatcherite the 2yr old hacked up by 5ls and carried 2 pound more than the older habndicappers. This wasn't as good as a few of the debutants seen the last couple of days but still up there with most of the best debuts.I can see this half brother to saayerr running at the northern tracks and getting underestimated and probably be taking on the poorer 2 yrolds that have won around those tracks. He could be really good value although he will be short prices there probably won't be much to beat around the smaller tracks..

Al senad

This is a rub your eyes job when looking art the finishing time of this race and
could be looking at an extremely well handicapped and the beauty of it is there is no reason to see why he should get a rise after winning a poor maiden
Currently rated 74 he had looked relatively exposed and struggling to win a race a drop to 5fs today and allowed to do his own thing brought massive improvement. The winning time was a huge 1.07 seconds quicker than thatcherite winning off 70 al senad also carried 6 pound more, its a very strange result based on this run on this track over this distance you'd be looking at a potential 90+ horse. The second in the older handicap was one boy rated 79 he also carried 5 pound less than the 3yr old al senad again would make him nearer 100 horse.Regardless of the times etc he looks a different horse over this trip,it maybe he only shows this form on this type of track so might be worth noting but looks ridiculously well handicapped over this 5fs.

backed that FENDALE today, had gimcrack entry and has superb sprinting pedigree exceed and excel and kyllachy. trying to understand this weight for age scales, gets 30lbs on weight for age scales, compared with 70 runner thatcherite, possible 90 to 100 horse?

Talmeyd

Another 3yr old that could be way ahead of the handicapper and heading for better things and again today was only second run winning easily by 5lsc eased with a furlong to go.Again the ground was pretty slow but the time was very quick, carrying 4 pound more than bondesire winning the older handicap earlier on the card off 92,yet only .10 slower but the latters time could've been a lot quicker. He looks like he maybe given a mark in high 80s yet has run as quick as 90+ older horses off levels with loads of improvement to come. The form has come at chester and on very slow ground, but he looks one to follow and again his mark will be very interesting he again could go onto be better than a handicapper..

Seamster

A very poor race but the winner 7yr old seamster seems to be running to another level with different headgear and drop to 6fs on these surfaces,,hacked up here could've probably won another 2-3ls.Was only winning off 48 today, don't think the handicapper can be to harsh on an exposed 7yr old has been beaten in this grade numerous times over 7fs and could well still be able to run in this grade when turned out again.
Although seemingly exposed has only had 23 runs on aw as 7yr old so in that respect hasn't had a lot of racing,on previous run at Kempton was second to indus river which was a pointer to todays race. The time of that race for the grade was good 1m12.52 and looking at similar grade races there recently at least 1/2 second quicker so he may well be running to a slightly higher level than present marks. At Kempton or lingfield he could well still be value and interesting to see iof he can follow this up and worth chancing a couple of bets,if he repeats this form would be very unfortunate to find something to beat him in this grade....

Mind of madness

The best 2yr old seen so far, although the form doesn't probably amount to much I like the time on the card winning by 4 1/2ls hacking up,spencer was 3ls off the pace from 2 1/2 furlongs out and looking behind as he knew what he had underneath.David brown is a trainer I like with 2 yrolds and I'm sure he will have his eye on the Coventry or something at ascot, this maynit even be his best. The winner could've won 10ls so the time looks pretty decent for debut run and the ground wasn't good, gdfm in places as was put up was verging on slow side of good which was always going to be the case as Monday was watered.Very little to compare to anything yet but undoubtedly will be running at ascot could easily be top class..

July stakes 10/1 365/betfred

Although doesn't appear to have the form of a few of the others to be beaten in the Windsor then two days later finish runner up in the Norfolk was motoring at finish just confirmed first impressions. The ground he has run on before at Newmarket on debut, highly unlikely to be gd/fm will be good ground only worth a small bet as looks very competitive but he's double figures compared to others that look similar.

Sir frank morgan

A Johnston horse coming back off long lay off hadn't run since October 2012 was out of the handicap, but the 4yr old gelding out of top class sire montjeu was big eyecatcher. He was passed by the eventual second and third woth 1/2 mile to go then he eventually picked up going away, just running off a mark of 46 there looks to be loads to come. This time of the season Johnston has usually sent out a few that are middle distance upwards turf horses and this looks like a classic example. This time last year Broxbourne was winning off 53,eventually winning off 89 last august, sir frank morgan although impossible to say how much improvement to come could well be another Johnston prolific winner..

Persun
Expensive date

This race is usually not great in terms of the best 2yr olds but the tume compared favourably with alutiq winning on the same card last season, the winner and thirds form hadn't look that great but the time appears about right for the grade. That being the case then persun and expensive date have run well on their debuts only beaten 1l and 3/4,persun filly out of sir percy and dam 2m hurdle and chase winner. She will surely be a big improver with step up in trip and mick channon has already shown he has some nice 2 yr olds and the stables horses are running well.Expensive date paul cole runner looking outpaced over this trip, related to bungleinthejungle, group therapy and waveband. The clock suggests they've run well for debut runs,so should at least be interesting early season and may just get underestimated in perhaps weak listed races...

Benoordenhout
Leaderene

An extremely poor handicap, the times yesterday at lingfield were extremely quick but today it looks as though they came nearer to standard looking at the rest of the card so for using formwise probably more reliable. These two were up the front throughout and dominated winner off 47 and runner up first race of the season, the time for this grade of race was very respectable for such lowly rated horses. At least on this surface there should be plenty of opportunities off current marks and they could even run up sequences with slight improvement over this c/d.Both will be rated in the low 50s and can even drop a grade..

Torchlighter

Again today miracle of medina showing how weak some of these group races listed races are and just looking at the overall times the results aren't surprising. This season nurserys have looked impossible to solve using times as very little on the clock so anything resembling a decent time is worth following.Torchlight may just be that running only .23 slower than the later very well handicapped winner evanescent winning off 75,torchlight carrying a pound more and eased.Torchlight may well go for a nursery next but can see him picking up one of these weak looking listed races, looks a big improver from first two runs.

Elusivity
Pearl blue

Both of these runners giving the field a big start elusivity giving away 6ls and pearl blue even more 8ls there realistic chance of winning gone from the break but were both nearest finish and the two eyecatchers.Elusivity was running in different class races was at one point rated 106,last season was 4th at York for O'Meara off 103 has now changed stables to peter crate has obviously regressed running off 88 and only 2/36 on turf.He doesn't look one to be taking short prices but finished really well on track that suits the pace horses and will give a few chances.
Pearl blue is a mare I've followed since she won at sandown as 3yr old by 7ls off 69 after that race I thought she was a 90 horse which proved to be the case but I thought she may even go onto slightly better class. She's 6 now rated 92 and been around these marks since 2012 but she is still relatively lightly raced only 21 lifetime runs I've always got the impression she could win a really nice handicap even off these marks. She's never won on anything better than gd/sft probably needs at least soft yet has still run well on good ground, last season she only ran 4 times running some great races off 92 4th,3rd 4th in competitive races. The fact chris wall doesn't over race her and race her on the wrong ground points towards him thinking she will/can win some of these decent handicaps. The track was totally against her today, george baker just let her run into the race and she finished full of running after conceding 8ls,hopefully another poor summer and more entries on the right ground!!:D

WWWWWWWWWWWWWHHHOOOOSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!Trouble is impossible to get the early prices with ground changing through the day,but the highs looked big advantage as well...

Good old Pearl Blue Gigs!! :):D

Crazy this turf racing I did four horses at Donny on gd/sft form then racing starts and its riding quick I do some horses at Newmarket on quick ground form and they end up on soft.So had to back this at 6/1 when it was 11s on early prices, this was a crap race as well..

Jack dexter 40/1 july cup the 40/1 is an insult,at worst nice trade can't see this going off bigger than 20s tops should be even shorter maybe 16s now the grounds soft. 40/1 with 365/victor/888/lads/unibet 33s with boyles,sbet,sjames,hills..

Iptisam
Ladies are forever

The second fastest 6f race ever run at lingfield won by the fastest ever winner run there,so the form looks rock solid, the pace cut out by ballista, forest edge and first time out this season ladies are foreve.Ladies are forever the only runner from the front runners and poor draw finishing in first 6,there are a few more races back here before the end of the season she will be entered in.Last sesson she beat timeless call by 2 1/2ls in a very fast time of 56.67 over lingfield 5fs she will surely be back for that race, the one slightly worrying thing was seeing first time pieces on today. The only 6 runs she has headgear etc have been her last 6!!
Iptisam was just chasing the three front runners so may have been ideally placed but is only rated 91,folded tamely on previous run looking at todays time and previous run suggests this was an improved run.All the front three in this race came from further behind tarooq and hoof it 6-7ls off the pace so would be impossible to say that it was an advantage to have led or even chased the pace.Iptisam looks well handicapped still on this run and should win again, only 10 lifetime runs....

An eyecatching run from munsarim dropped out from poor drawn, then having to switch wide covering a lot more ground than other runners just getting beat by my to follows horse fleckerl. He is pretty prolific on the aw 6/18 but interestingly no handivcap win since july 2011 and has never won a handicap on the aw which is quite surprising. On this run with the ground he conceded no reason why he shouldn't win a handicap on all time low mark of 70 looks in real good form, even if switched bacvk to claimers with guaranteed pace would look to be worth a bet.
Mister music master not qwuite so eyecatching, but badly impeded 2 1/2 furlongs out probably cost him a couple of lengths he won off 73 and 77 in jan/feb at lingfield last season he will need to come on again but may just be coming into form.

KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKAABBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!Two runs later wins off stone lower mark,a pity it hadn't been on the aw would've been more confident crazy was off 14 pound lower mark in just two runs with her claim.Price compensated !!;)

Gabbiano

A complete farce of a race where the winner was allowed to dictate what was probably just an ordinary gallop, not only that but all the high draws shunning the rail after previous meetings showing what a huge advantage it was over the 5 days. The really interesting thing was the time of the 6fs races from the 2yr olds and this older handicap 2yr old horses rated between 70-85 running quicker than the older horses. The beauty of this proofs the fact that the stands side is the plasce to be and very rare can you prove but these 2yr olds were average handicappers yet bioth races were run quicker they raced nearer rail.Last season the older handicap was a second quicker,my to follows horse drawn 18 got left was al;ways travelling well got no run looked an unlucky loser highland acclaim. There was another similar eyecatcher in gabbiano,he likes ascot rarely runs a bad race on the track both wins here second in this race last year.He is at optimum of mark but worth considering here probably a couple of runs down the field and back here would make him a better bet. What will be interesting is the meeting tomorrow with the draw..

Been unbelievable run last week something like 14 winners on here not backed all of them but still great to see the progressive ones that looked well handicapped winning as above by 8ls...:ninja:

Dinnertimeatmidnight

A maiden I've been following after seeing this winners time on debut, only .25 slower than apricot sky winning off 74 in the following handicap for older horses at warwick. The gelding half brother to dutch masterpiece out of kyllachy was given a mark of 81 after this run and was beaten 20ls at York last week after the ground had drioed out. That entry I think the stable just let him run hopiong for the best the ground previous day had been on the soft side and I know the stable weren't going to run him on quick ground.
Backstage gossip in 4th has finished runner up to penny drops at lingfield recently and tonight to really frank the form byrons gold won, runner up to dinneratmidnight getting 5 pound and a length beating and that runners third run as opposed to winners debut so the form looks even better now.
Don't think we will see much of the winner during the summer, hopefully will get a run or two just to get him onto 80 so he's not in the most competitive handicaps and then when the ground gets on the soft side should be a nice price!

Straight into aw handicap won on Monday..;)

mountiger

A couple of obvious ones mountiger winning at wolves today in a decent time of 1m47.50 although it has to be said the track was extremely quick but was only second run and open to loads of improvement. It's always worth keeping these onside as if they don't show on turf they can return to the aw and be far superior on the surfaces sometimes in comparison to their turf form!!

Hiking

Easy winner at Windsor and by 6ls on debut with loads of improvement to come add in the time only .78 slower than ribot boy winning off 83 but more than likely a 100 horse looking at its previous haydiock time the run of the 2yr old could be even better than first appears.

won that's 3/5 now looked chucked in at sailsbury books opened 13/2..:ninja::ninja:

if I were a boy

Two very strange rides by martin lane recently riding the mare and eyecatching both times, she had been running well on the aw this was her grade tonight and she should be competitive in these races. She's currently running off 65 and although she doesn't win often is usually overpriced because of trainer .She sluiced up off 63 last season in august over windsors 1m2fs spread-eagling a field of 70 horses behind her and heavily backed, she's worth looking out for in decent ground races at the track as she's up to winning one of these when allowed to run her race!!

Won Monday at Windsor, best form for sometime on fav track as above..;)
