Stellarta

The 3yr old filly looks an improver,i don't like the form of this race particularly I think as all the aw tracks they are running very quick so are a bit misleading, the time of this race was 1m11.16 only .30 slower than the recent class 2s there and she sluiced up was probably infront to long as well. She was only on a mark of 67 has now run 13 times and never been out of the first four,if the times are reliable then she could easily be an 85 horse looking at how easily she won and lightly raced on the surface..

One of the fastest maidens seen so far at lingfield and by fillies and runner up and third only debut runs which makes the time even more impressive, they could be very nice handicappers to follow on the aw,the winner only had an rpr of 68 so there's a decent xchance they could get really nice marks in the near future as well. Both have nice pedigrees out of new approach and azamour and could even progress over further, hopefuly will be kept on the aw for the rest of the aw season.

Those two are both 90 horses just on that run....if they run again on the AW its hard to see either beaten.

Reetaj

Not the strongest maiden ever run at swell but still reasonable the winner had a lot in hand at the finish over experienced reetaj, had run debut here previously I don't know if the winner will be any value unless he runs here dubawi colt and first foal of middle distance listed winner dam so should be more to come. The time was very favourable compared to 70 rated Bognor only just slower than that race although that race looked strange with so many runners running well below form, even a conservative estimate you would have to think the winner of the maiden has to be at an 85 horse on fibresand. Also reetaj although only got an rpr of 65 might just get underestimated and get given a decent mark or pick up a similar maiden again, using Bognor as the marker anything round about 75 or below would look nice mark..

Percys princess

Apoor maiden but decebt time although track was ion the quick side would be hard to fault percys princess, again Michael Appleby working his magic she's only rated 45 and shown nothing to suggest better than that rating, a switch of surface and still statying onto the line this race run in 2m37.11 even if the track was riding quick this points to her being very well handicapped. She's only had 7 lifetime runs looking non stayer on tapeta, the only negative is the trainer as they invariably get overbet but she may just be a bit of value as the low grade handicaps at swell are abysmal and don't take any winning...

Black dave

A poor race but for grade not to bad and decent time, almost 1/2 second quicker than the first div won by point north, spowarticus is only rated 54 so looks well handicapped still all about pace so still open to improvement he can even drop in grade so should win more races. The most interesting runner was b;lack dave very suspect like by egan when the gap appeared and not wanting to finish in the frame, was pretty laughable surprised he never got pulled in as never touched the horse it was similar last time out as well so obviously either waiting for drop in weights or back up to 7fs.Not one for taking short prices but he looks a surefire future winner, quite interesting graham lee got loads of stick in this race for switching the horse inside yet egan rode no finish whatsoever on this one goes totally unmentioned...

I backed Black Dave tonight and could not believe he was unplaced. He was strong in the market so the ride did not make sense.

Probably because he saw dark lane was looking like it might win and thought he wouldn't quite get there,no point in having 2 horses going up in weights when one can get a drop which it will after finishing 4th..

What you would call a very good old skool ride,by shrewd jock not many would've been clever enough..

Sleepy blue ocean

A race where the form in 9 days has thrown up 14/1,4/1 and 5/1 winners already all were bigger at early prices and today red baron on the wrong side at ayr just getting touched off at 50/1.I watched this race numerous times and
red baron, mutafaakir and sleepy blue ocean went off really quick in this race at the 3f pole from the side angle shown they looked 4ls clear going off way to quick.Just in behind them chasing them was bondi beach boy he won at Beverley in the week, red baron was placed today at 50/1 and sleepy blue ocean was 5th doing best of those to chase the pace. He's now off a mark of 74
will probably get a drop now to last years winning mark of 73 and this form looks rock solid.

The 14s more than generous barrows filled!!!

Well done Andy, backed it myself but think would have been 2nd if First in Command hadn't broken down. When the lucks with you it makes a nice change but shame FIC had to be put down.

Think it still would've won still had plenty in the tank, looked like winner to me nothing lucky about backing 14/1 shots that return 11/2 stew...

Entered Monday over 5f in the 2.10. Wrong trip? Looking at the race he will be pretty short.

I won't be backing it over 5fs really it needs to run down the field to be any sort of price anyway as I wouldn't back anything of evans at 4-5/1 I very rarely back his horses anyway...

Think it just shows that trainers really don't have a clue what they've got half the time even when its one of the better ones like Appleby,if he knew then undoubtedly wouldn't have run it in that maiden unless of course he thinks its far better than 61 which is highly unlikely.Think below 60 would've been fair enough but now has to race in that slightly higher grade, can't see it not winning at least at swell but not going to be much value...

a bad bit of planning there..on that last run BD has 5lb of its mark..62+5..will now waste some of that small edge by being raised..has won 800 sheets today..will be 6/4 next time if they shove it over 6f..probably win comfy..after that run its mark back down to low 60's and start again

Strange ride never rode out finish, hit it twice finished full of running didn't look like egan wanted the race can't believe that's his driving finish almost hand's n' heels, thats the problem withy these evans horses no value and just look unbackable.I t was a terrible race for the grade probably explains why it ran so well but to not ride a finish again makes no sense for a rise in the weights..
