Hawkeyethenoo 25/1 victor,corals,hills totescoop 6 challenge cup

Hawkeyethenoo still retains ability, backed him last time out in the ayr silver cup and with field congregating up the centre he had no chance was last giving 8ls start stopped in run then eased last 1/2 furlong at the end of the race looked to finish with a bit in the tank the seventh furlong needed. His price of 25/1 doesn't seem overly generous but there are a few positives with liking for the track and even more importantly, the ground will be quick already good ground and dry weather all week so ground will be g/fm may even be slightly watered yet but at worst sould be gd/gdfm. He's been dropped another pound after the silver cup run. to 91 lowest since july 2010,when you consider he was 3rd to speculative bid off 93 in may tanking along at finish after getting pushed wide, has loads in hand on suzi's connoisseur and buckstay on that c/d form had them in behind if that form were to be produced they are currentyl 8/1 fav and 14/1 3rd fav. He's also run well at ascot since then over an inadequate 5fs when 4th to secret in the park again on fast ground, there also seems to be quite a few of the recent form winners that either have lesser form on this fast ground or lesser form on the track or combination of both it makes it difficult to be too positive of the majority of runners.Under the conditions of fast ground over c/d I think it's unlikely he will bigger infact he might even shorten slightly and although at the age of 9 seems optimistic winner, wouldn't surprise me if he ran well..

Obviously could be non starter off just 91,so I'm hoping the ground is left well alone and all the soft and gs/sft ground horses come out..

A decent maiden looking at the time, only a second slower than the class 3 won by kakatosi later on the card rated 84 the 2yr olds carried 6 pound more as well so even more eyecatching and with the 4th,5th,6th,7th only 2 3/4ls behind the first three with potential to improve past the first three there could well be some top class runners to come in runners behind and more importantly some nice value for betting.Hopefully these runners will run in maidens and you could be getting 3-4/1 for horses that are potentially 90 horses and with them being 4th,5th,6th and 7th that's very likely, hopefully will be able to keep track of these as season closes as winning maidens should be a formality.Similarly if they get chucked in something better, the likelihood is they will be overpriced anyway and with the 2yr old form looking fairly mediocre in general conditions races or listed races they could be massively overpriced...

Not only 3-4/1 column was prioced up 6/1 11/2 5/1 9/2 who prices these races up!!!:lol: The winner of the race hacked unpin handicap off 85 Saturday well and wapping d in the first at Beverley great great race as ex[pected

The tin man

The time of this 3yr old handicap was eyecatching on the card as the ground had juice in it,strangely ground had been dry all week but was obviously visually that was riding slower than ground normally would be at ascot on the going stick of 8.0.The winner half brother to deacon blues winning off 91 hacking up by 4 1/2ls will go into the hundreds after this although that will be irrelevant as heading towards group races, today was going to be interesting with the group 3 to make comparisons as ground would've been far quicker and a glaring comparison with yesterdays race .46 quicker than eastern impacts win rated 112.Even more surprising than I was expecting, but I wasn't expecting the winner of todays race to be much quicker and remembering the tin man hacked up with just 5 lifetime runs, this years 2yr olds look slow so with normal progression you could see the tin man fighting it out with the 3/4 top sprinters that look clear of everything else next season...

Lumiere 10/1 sportsbook 9/1 365/888sport/sporting bet 8/1 generally 1000 guineas..

After following the 2yr olds all season,it has come down to a handful that look at this time prospective winners of 2000 and 1000 guineas winners nothing has particularly done anything special on the clock all season to the level you'd expect and the runners heading these markets have had quite a few races been pretty consistent and therefore with not much coming through look to me poor market leaders for the standard of races.Even air force blue my original pick for the Coventry since he's now a crazy 4/1 after winning two very slow times against some horses that have underperformed or simply just not that good, the positive is he won those races easily he's basically beaten a poor bunch this season and as yet bar my ante post pick smash Williams looks to have loads of improvement to come produced monster speedfigure on last run in canter he might not stay the mile either.Looks a poor race to get overly involved at current prices the 20/1 smash Williams looks value if he gets the trip..
The fillies have been the same been nothing between 4/5 of them nothing stands out just like the colts at this moment there certainly isn't going to be a superstar on what's been seen so far,but the one that has shown most potential is lumiere mark Johnston trained out of shamardal, she hacked up on debut anf although the time was mediocre she was good for maybe another 1/2 dozen lengths better that day and probably could've got near shalaas winning time on same card. She disappointed at York,as did many other runners there ornate etc was another good example hating the ground and then she touched off illuminate and besharah after running far to free, she gave the impression that she is probably different class to those two runners with her only having three runs. The time of the race was almost identical to the colts on the same card won by shalaa and more importantly there's plenty of stamina in her pedigree shamardal producing such as lope de vega and mukhadram just two of many and the dam screen star is half sister to Sophocles high class bumper and hurdle winner.Think it's worth highlighting the prices now as she looks the likeliest bigger improver, ballydoyle looks to set at this moment a mediocre standard that shouldn't be good enough come the guineas unless there's more improvement which seems unlikely to me plus runs tomorrow so obviously if getting beaten will affect market and regardless oif that result come the race I could see lumiere heading the market and at maybe half the price.Think there's absolutely zerio chance of her being these prices anyway..

Empire storm 28/1 365 balmoral handicap

Last year was 3rd in same race off 107,ran off 107 on Saturday when 3rd to buckstay and the previous year had been runner up in last Saturdays race,he's taken along time to slip down the handicap competing in very competitive handicaps in meydan on the dirt a couple of thirds and a 6th of 11 in a group 2 not running anywhere near as bad as form figures suggest. He's starting to look nicely handicapped as although only beaten 2 1/2ls on Saturday in 3rd behind the balmoral fav buckstay he gets a 5 pound drop in the weights, down to 102 puts him well in with lots of the more prominent runners in the betting and with his last 3 runs here all being rock solid 28/1 looks value off revised mark, also there's a chance the ground will be softer than Saturdays meeting and that will be even more in his favour. As above was only beaten 1 1/2ls in last years race by bronze angel yet gets a 4 pound pull with bronze angel that will not include the likely claim by mikey ennis as well that will probably be taken off on top. He's going to have big turnarounds with horses such as mr win, buckstay, professor, farklow, bronze angel, gabriels lad and a few others and the softer the ground gets the more inconvenienced some of those at the front end of the market look, infact some of them simply won't like any ground with soft in it.

Going to be some aw stuff in the near future, have absolutely smashed this season probably done 99% of the meetings through the spring and summer, something I havn't done for years and had no intention of doing so,just wanted to prove I could still do it,been 18 hour days everyday since march going to probably win 2 1/2 as much as I have been winning for last 15 years.Won't be doing it again though and with more aw racing will not need to,hopefuly get some stuff on here as it will seem a doddle after the turf season.
workwise.Might start off with some previews of the Saturday night meetings at wolves, most of the cards are poor betting mediums but throw up the odd gem,got a bit more time now could be very interesting..

They surely weren't stupid enpugh to price up at 4/1 again surely:lol::lol:cannon fodder!!! Thatys 6/1 and 4/1 opening prices and both finished odds on,cracking bit of form I knerw they'd get underestimated exactly as above..

have you had a go on Chester Street G?...drop in class tonight..potentially a 90 horse against 70/75 hosses tonight

When you can get 7/2 4/1 even 3/1 or 5/2 then stonking ew bet, wouldn't have backed it at evens with George baker drawn 9 and no guaranteed pace luckily he got away with it,but that's where the ew bit would've saved the bet..

Seychelloise

An inexplicably fast time on the card, one of the quickest times ever recorded over 7fs and by class 6 handicappers only rated upto 65 so won't overestimate the form too much at this time, the 5f race was a very quick time as well for a class 4 but the class 6 7f race seems unbelievably quick. The winner had no recent form or even past form that showed it to be one to follow and winning tonight off 63 looks like staying around the 69/70 mark and will be interesting to see if this time works out,i have my doubts looking atv runners in behind the second for example although running respectably and the runners in 4th and 5th appear to hold the form down. The main [positive is winner won pretty easily, guaranteed to come back as obviously loves it when riding quivk, only had 10 lifetime runs including tonights win, havn't checked through all the 7fs races this year but think this race was a second quicker than any other 7f race run over c/d from memory. As mentioned perhaps not to go overboard with time and fortm but winner has to be given chances with ease of win and even if track was on quick side its still a decent time regardless

there is a something amiss with that last race G. Its a true time..not an error firstly

the race wasn't a strongly run affair..103% finish tells you that..but most of the other races were decently run.

if you ignore the last race..then it all looks correct giving a track speed about what you would expect ... all the races getting figures in line with pace of race. If you then put the last race into the equation..it makes every race 20/30 lb slow..which they weren't. If you use the earlier going allowance..it makes the last race winner a 93 horse..and most of the field running 10+ lbs higher than their OHR...not possible is it?

it looks to me like they rolled the track before the last race

at the last meeting as well there was odd results..but the other way round..throughout the card..all the races got slower during the meeting..even though the pace figure told you that Kasbah's race was decently run out of the last 3 races..it earned a figure 12lb below what you would expect..nolecce's race was slowly run..108% finish..which is fair enough...but it looked as though they started the meeting on a faster surface than they finished.

need to keep an eye on this ..i'm always a bit wary when the first or last races..particularly the last.. are run way out of line with rest of card

I'm not really trying to use the time to give them ratings as I would usually I want to see if the winner can back it up and with the second debt free dame running well the previous week in the faster of the two divs behind Ustinov, that race suggested he could've been 5-6 pound well in winner and runner up rated 81 and 74 and now slaughtered by seychelloise it looks even though time is misleading that the form might be better than first appears. The more I look at it even though debt free dame looked thoroughly exposed last two runs siuggest even he's worth following based on his last 3 runs, had Slovak behind the week before also had clocked up decent time previously. So all the fastest times have come around debt free dames form or other runners from different races..

Had some loose change on it,nothing more irritating when you know you've backed a group horse in handicap and doesn't figure then basically getting your stake back on it next time out just needed that extra juice makes all the difference as it's Brazilian form always showed don't know what botti was doing with it never even ran it on softer ground...

Artsy

Not much of a race but winner coming away easily at finish off just a mark of 49,the time of the race was only .79 slower than the class 4 earlier on the card and .23 quicker than the maiden won by mid 70s horse dheban but the marker probably set by the weaker older handicap winner rialto magic winning off 55 carrying 10 pound more but .71 slower so for a weak 2yr old handicap wunner off just 49 the time looks decent. Will probably get a rise of 7-8 pound and that will still enable her to carry on running in these weak handicaps,on this run another win maybe a sequence looks a formality, the form looked reasonable as well with sophistica last time out c/d winner plus runner up that had dropped in class behind. She looks an interesting runner to follow for next few runs, although she could well be little value being trained by roger varian

12/1 hills, sportsbook, lads, victor, tote, boyles, betfred Champoin sprint Saturday ascot

A big step up in class but not unexpected, although perhaps not expected this quickly but if the stable have looked closely at the finishing times of the group 3 the following day as above iot certainly suggests that already the tin man is at this level,he looks value on those times with ease of win although would still have to improve to win the race I can't see any reason why he won't be involved in finish as the run was over the same c/d the 12/1 is probably the value in the race. The other 3yr olds look interesting as well the haydock form almost looks to good to be true and as both twilight son and stratburn have no form at ascot yet then hopefully tin man will come out best of the three,a pity the race wasn't run before the weekend as ground is currently soft but looks by the weekend probably dried out.Pretty sure if ground did stay softish the fav as having no softer ground form would drift and as the tin mans win was on ground with some juice then would preferably see that as could be disadvantage to fav..

That's all the 12s gone didn't take long, think will have another chunk on at 10/1 as well think he will go off nearer 7/1 so should be able to lay off a fair bit..

Not really was terrible price from a terrible draw and if you read the write up the form was franked by arlecchinos way earlier from the Ustinov race I mentioned Seychellois beat debt free dame easily finised just behind that winner previous run the forms actually worked out perfect.A length 2ls and then 3 3/4ls back to fourth just makes the form look solid for grade, like a lot of these previous winners it's all about prices unbackable at that price from that draw and probavly won't be worth backing in future either as wil always be overbet..

Smash williams

I said earlier on thread that I don't believe there's a bias at the curragh despite a few results in handicaps with a slight trend to the highs the results to me have always looked that way due to the mass of field congregating on the stands side or simply most horses being drawn there and lows have run well coming standside to get touched off after comceding big starts.Today that was borne out by the debutant 2yr old smash Williams destroyiong 24 runners from the 1 draw and winning by 6 1/2ls on the far side, the time was very good only 1.13 slower than the older horse group 3 probably one of the best debuts of the whole season, although this time of year I mentioned a month ago the times would be a lot closer, but still with loads of improvement to come he could be anything. The running themes been the 2yr old formlines not being great as I've saiud from early season,so looking out for new horses could be the way to go and he may just be worth cionsidering for some ante post prices at huge prices for bigger races as the benchmark looks pretty average at be

Performance of the season for me on next run,he won with a tonne in hand the race was 1.21 seconds quicker than the 3yr old handicap winner captain power winning off 83
and rockaway valley was held up today showing it's true form of when unlucky run when second to air force blue today running on well and far better on the clock than the phoenix which looked a dogs dinner of a race..

Smash Williams 20/1 lads ppower 2000 guineas

The 20/1 for smash Williams looks a bit of value,to win races that close together on two debut runs and win with so much in hand and produce very good times in both races,he looks far better value than air force blue, think the phoenix was a slowly run race and think the runners in that race underperformed. He's out of fracas who was rated 111 won up to 1m2fs and on heavy and gd/fm and smash Williams has already shown diversity on both grounds, from what's been seen this season they havn't looked a great bunch and he looks open to loads of improvement I think 20/1 could look massive come april next year!!

Now 25/1 with skybet and sjames, obviously because of air force blue now being a ridiculous 6/4...

Suicidal pace in tonights race,at first I thought he got an easy lead but he's just got so much early pace he's made clockmaker and all the frontrunners look pedestrian the other three that tried to go the pace filled the last 3 places and morris has even kicked on 2furlongs out would've been some sort of performance to win doing what he did and winner just picked up the pieces. The clock showing 1m26.04 might even be track record, the more you watch the race you see how potentially he is well handicapped whether he will ever be value it's hard to say and the fact morris has punished the horse for trying it's guts out might even be worth dropping it back a furlong.A very unlucky loser poor ride from morris having gone that quick early, this 2nd div was 1.4 seconds quicker than the first div, form looks very good for grade and I had noticed that indian affair has been in the form of its life touched off by recent winner again deeds not words at Chepstow with pharmaceutical in behind.Lots of positives from that race tonight, purely because of the way seychelloise was ridden..

last nights race made a little more sense re getting a potential mark on Seychelouise. The race was too strongly run..not a collapse but not suiting horses near it.....the split times suggest that if it had been more evenly run seychelouise would have won by 0.5 length.

The new ratings ..which equate to OHR ratings... for the first 3 home allowing for how each of them ran the race are pharmaceutical = 84...seychelouise = 79...indian affair = 70.

Pharmaceutical and seychelouise are both still well handicapped looking at that..particularly seychelouise who off her current mark is 10lb ahead..be interesting to see what new mark will be
