Diamond Charlie

An 8yr old now regressing was rated 87 when runner up to boom the groom jan 2015 now running off just 73 might even get dropped another pound or two but in recent runs has shown like coming back into form although obviously off this mark he should be.Wasn't a bad race behind equally fast and berite blu boy with burning thread behind, the trouble with diamond Charlie he always seems to be opoor value hasn't won since December 2014 yet always gets underpriced,I can't see one race in recent times where he looked value and it maybe the same in future runs. There is a possibility he could take a step up in class and then perhaps might be more of a price,i wouldn't want to back him at short prices even in a lower grade, seems to run better in these fast run races so the step up in class might just see himin better light..

A speculative bet on hiorne tower very inconsistent but does have some decent form over this c/d 2nd to the progressive gangwarfare and Jupiter storm off marks of 57 and 60 back in summer of 2015.Has not really shown that level of form since run ok in midfield in a few races but has now dropped to a mark of 55 and gets to run back over the c/d where shown best form.Obviously has a bit to prove now but these 2mile races are always very weak the trainer does have winners on the aw there are a couple of lightly raced ones that could be well handicapped as well but at prices worth having a few coppers on.The betting might be interesting as well as these prices especially backed up in trip..

Hiorne tower 12/1 365/lads/victor

Glastonberry might be worth a small bet in what looks a competitive but small field, has dropped to lowest mark since winning off 75 over c/d jan 2015 2nds to varsovian off 78 at chelmsford and desert strike off 80 over c/d.Returned to the aw in better class races than this in low 80s was 3rd to searchlight off 82 injanuary at Kempton down back in grade has a chance and is overpriced. There look one or two that may be even better handicapped but the 10/1 looks a nice trade at worst..no reason to think won't be going off nearer 5/1 than 10/1//

Think the fav eluethera and upstaging are the most likeliest winners on the clock and on the form, but Malaysian boleh is definitely the value at 16/1 should be half that price as there are probably just 4/5 on form and the times that stand out. There was an easy lead for colourbearer last time out and Malaysian boleh had little chance, tomorrow penny dreadful ius vaz de torres should guarantee decent pace and should get race run to suit, may only be 3rd,4th,5th in but the 16/1 is to big should be a decent trade.Probably a bit unlucky to be running against what looks two nice progressive types, don't know why its 16s double the price of penny dreadful and finished infront of that one penultimate run and 3 pound better in...be surprised if not nearer 8/1 than the 16s.

Top boy doesn't win very often 1/36 on turf but better record on the aw 2/10 and 5 places, has dropped to lowest mark since winning over c/d when winning off 73 in april 2014 his last two runs at wolves has been 2nd to mappin time off 82 and last april was 2nd to red baron off 83 in better race than this.He was 4th in a class 2 in march 2015 off 87 at chelmsford tomorrow is off 79, returns after a 5 month break but has done that the last three seasons finishing 1/3/3 the other runner with form similar or almost as good at its best is vimy ridge 5th to royal birth off 87 in january and recent 2nd in this class off 81 these two have contested better races than this previously and would look 4/1 shots in this sort oif race....They look cracking trades top boy should be massive gamble at that price..

8/1 skybet/lads/hills/corals

12/1 ads/hills/skybet was ex[pectiong top boy to open 6/1..

Still worth taking all the 10s as long as its trying could go half of that 10/1 with 365/skybet/totesport/betfred/victor/ppower/corasls/hills only way it doesn't shorten if non tryer...

12/1 betfred/totesport/betbright

6/1 Vimy ridge 8/1 Top boy still think vimy ridge will shorten at least another point yet and if shaws got his right then should shorten even more as well there's even a possibility one of them could go off fav..

Can't be arsed to write him up again top boy 8/1 365 bit disappointing last time out, looked a pace bias worth a small bet as his overall form is in better races on the aw//

A very competitve race you could probably make a case for most of these but might be worth giving race fit arnold lane a chance a couple of times this season think tom eaves has sat at the front off a slow pace and other times not pushed on,the one time ridden aggressively was just beaten by certificate in a decent time.Tomorrow SDS rides can't see him not riding more aggressively and if isn't disappointed should at least trade low in running, the race does look open with a few lightly raced ones but he could outrun prices, horses such as unforgiving minute could be chucked in runner up to mister universe and even clement who has appeared poorly handicappedclast two runs was big eyecatcher over this c/d three runs back when cantering..

Arnold lane 12/1 only left with boyles

Probably the most interesting maiden of the season run at linfield over 6fs a monstrous time for debutants of 1m10.70 I think you can safely say these are with improvement to come 100+ horses, that time is only slightly slower than a lot of the handicaps that are run there and .93 slower than alben star winning the aw championship sprint off 103 but winning that race by over 2ls.Been a long time since seen something as promising in sprints at lingield on the clock, hopefully handicapper will be generous they may only get rated in the 80s hopefully both won't be chucked into listed races although they could still be overpriced, just a pity the aw season is finished ass would've been some easy pickings and nice betsIt's worth keeping an eye on these two for some ante post entrys at huge prices and with Sylvester kirk not quite so fashionable there might be some crazy prices floating around..

Imshivalla had some decent handicap form on soft ground last season, winning off 81 at in slightly better race than tomorrow,a 3rd to volunteer point at Newmarket off 85 and even only 3rd next time out that was in a listed race over 1m2fs.Even though imshivallas exposed now at five last season showed there are probably still more races to be won in this grade, can't see too many in this race that look well handicapped and will like the ground and if ready to run will probably be well backed.Betting will be interesting compare to other fahey runner as I thought imshivalla would be fav, imshivalla may go off half the current 6/1 and could be a decent trade..
Mystic miraal probably along with other fahey runner miss van gogh the only runners that looks open to improvement just the 13 runs a 2nd of 14 over c/d in October then followed up with a 2nd on soft ground to sea wolf at Donny ith 6ls back to the 4th there could well be improvement looking at that last run similarly miss van gough winning at Newmarket after only eight runs. The last named will actually be off a 4 pound lower mark because of claimer Hayley Irvine yet to ride a winner..

Top diktat at 8 hardly one to follow in a handicap as exposed now but does have decent record on turf 5/16 races off 75 which looking at recent aw form looks unlikely, but only an three times on turf last season winning the last one over this trip off 72.You wouldn't normally be looking at an 8yr old exposed handicapper against younger horses, but he does like the ground,is fit and George bakers 2/2 on him nd his previous run over this trip on soft ground was april 2014 over c/d winning off 84.On fitness alone t least on this ground he has less to prove than most of the field.Heezariry similar is fit from the aw and won this time last year over this c/d off a pound higher on exact same ground in this same grade has obvious chance..
Probably the most interesting of the lightly raced ones is tainted love the 4yr old has only the 7 lifetime runs, last july was a 2l runner up to memoria off 70 over c/d but then disappointed at Leicester but still looks interesting with that course form and on this ground..

Albert boy is very slow certainly will struggle to win a handicap but might be capable of winning a maiden like this ran ok at Donny ast time out when 4th on desperate ground race was quicker than the last handicap on the card won by chilworth belle rated 64 which if repeated in this race would have to go close. The obvious alternative is bradleystown as only the 2 runs..

Abernant stakes Thursday..

Magical memory and mattmu are the obvious improvers as both only 4 and still unexposed so could well dominate Thursdays race, but as it's first run of the season and the ground will be softest they've ever run on at least against these grade horses then might be worth having a token bet on something that will like the grpund.Jack dexter although ran poorly on appearance so did most horses at Donny,he has stacks of decent group 2 and 3 form from last season and if he'd run respectably first run of the season he would've been 8-10/1 for this race so the 16s looks a little bot oif value. He's very hard to predict now lasty season was 2nd in a group 2 at haydiock on good ground over 5fs showing how much ability he retains on his day,but throws in runs when he does get his ground in weaker races and runs poorly. He probably needs this class of race to bring the best out of him and bar the first two in the market the rest are like him thoroughly exposed so he's worth a little bet at 16/1..

Jack dexter 16/1 ppower...

5.40 Newmarket Thursday

King Robert looks overpriced tomorrow in the 3yr old handicap, only had the 4 runs so not thoroughly exposed finishing last season with a 4th to group 2 winner donjuan triumphant, the second dhamaan went onto win a listed race at Donny and the 3rd looks top class aw horse and may yet still be an improver gracious john rated 103 king roberty was 4th.The 6th dutch mist went onto finish 5th in a lasted race at Newmarket so the form couildn't be any stronger.quite a few unexposed ones in the race, that time at York was good as well only 4ls slower than shared equity wiinning the class 2 sprint on the card and even when king Robert won at chester the winning time there was only .53 slower than eastern impact winning the older horse listed race on the card so the mark of 95 still seems like he could imprive on it.He's almost the rag of the field a lot of the runners have fitness on side but he does have the form in the book on the ground so got to be worth a small bet at this price..

Barnmore

Not a bad handicap and decent time although track riding pretty quick, although barnmore only rated 76 was back in third after only second run back after 16 months off has obviously had lots of problems as now yr old but only 19 lifetime runs. You could even argue this was best ever lifetime run as well as highest mark was only 77 any repeat of this form there are races to be won as can even drop in grade and another pound drop would be able to drop twop grades, the clock and form are rock solid so for a horsed just rated 76 decent aw run in a handicap..

Ripon 2.35

Obviouisly this time of the season first time outs you have to be backing at reasonable prices as picking winners or even places in ultra compwtitve races on heavy ground probably better off watching, think its worth having a little bet on piazon in the 6f sprint tomorrow on probable heavy ground.Don't think draw will matter on that ground they will split,he's drawn in 17 so not a disadvantage he doesn't win very often but his record on soft ground is very consistent,3rd to shipyard over tomorrows c/d in the consolation st winifred followed that up with a 3rd to gramercy and then a 5th over 5fs at York this season looks sure to win races again off present mark.If he's fit and running from this draw I can't see him going unbacked at 12/1...Fast shot is thrown in on that riopon run and obsession wasn't far behind piazon in that race as well they could all run well.

Piazon 12/1 365/sportsbook all the 12s gone now but 10/1 with 13 books still I can see this going off 6/1 easily especially with that draw...

6/1 fav as I thought would happen, the more I look at this race wouldn't surprise me to see Barkston ash leading and winning the race at least farside won this race off 81 2014 pound lower and turnaround in weights with piazon from that ripon race. Will be surprised if both sides don't split and very little in it..

Paladin

Going to have to note this now or will forget as thought it was an interesting runner for one of these summer aw meetings although beaten easily in this race was never given a hard race when beaten, the trip looked slightly on the short side, the track was exceptionally quick and was running against horses in very good form.Paladins obviously had loads of problems at 7 only 15 runs, one run 2012 and 2013 and off 2014,then came back in 2015 running at swell a 2nd off 62 then followee that up with a 2nd to heavens off 61 that race was quite interesting as there was 11ls back to the 3rd and the winner heavens guest rated 65 at the time is now rated 80 and could stil be improviong. Those two runs were run on a very slow surface in the summer and that maybe the time to catch paladin he could be a better handicapped horse on the track when riding really deep the form of that july race suggests so and with these aw meetings getting overlooed in those months might be massively overpriced.New trainer Michael blake but thought this run was not quite as bad as first appeared..

Kenny the captain is the best horse on his day in this race especially on this ground, has the 25 lifetime runs 23 on turf 3 wins and tomorrow gets to run off 71 lowest and last winning mark was running at some strange tracks last season catterick/Carlisle yet all best form has been on straight tracks won at ayr, newcastle and Donny infact maybe laid out for the Newcastle meetings as won twice over the c/d there.Last season won off 71 but that was a race for horses rated upto 85 and the 3rd was a further 4ls behind so capable of destroying a field like this, the main positive seems to be the ground as well out of captain rio beat torchlighter on desperate ground at Donny as 2yr old and although form tailed off towards end of last season off these sort of marks on this ground probably worth following. He has run here before and strangely ran very well 5th to rex imperator off 76 in a race for horses rated upto 95 but that was on fast ground. The easterby horses are pretty hard to predict but if this doesn't get heavily backed on seasonal debut then you can safely assume not fit/trying he got bossipop to win yesterday after long lay off if they have him right then no reason to think he won't go off fav, could be a huge gambleOpened up 14/1 that is a huge rick if its ready to run..

Kenny the captain 14/1 sportsbook/12/1 ppower/victor/totesport/betfred/boyles

Will be disappointed if can't at least get a decent trade out of this hoping all the form students will latch onto it..

Earlier on in the week invincible wish caught they eye at Kempton looks a little bit of value as wasn't far behind bollihope yet that ones 5/1 tomorrow and invincible wish is 20/1was finishing strongly off slow pace there should be nothing between them presuming the former does get a truly run race over the trip.Only ran 3 days ago and from a stable that has yet to have a winner, looking through a few formlines they all look pretty similar although yasir has some decent times here and probably the one to beat.Invincible wish looks to have a decent place chance if race hasn't come to soon..

Almost a monster touch must've traded very low:lol: and the other gets done sh/hd as well for 3rd ...unfashionable trainer you could've had as much as you like on as well cracking ew bet..

Very unlucky with Invincible Wish Andy, would have been a welcome winner for Trevor Wall as well, certainly wouldn't have been that price if still with Ellison, bad luck.

4.45 ponte

A very poor race and again will be desperate ground, might be worth risking a token bet on johnny b goode has shown very little on the aw recently so has regressive profile but is absolutely chucked in on last seasons turf form.Last april over tomorrows c/d running 4th 90 rated granddads world on gd/sft ground, his form then went backwards actualy got beat in a seller but that was on gd/fm ground and over 7fs infact strangely been running over 7fs in most recent runs.Tomorrow returns to turf on just a mark of 68 but with the claim down to a mark of just 61,this is an abysmal race on that grandads world form would be way odds on,he's obviously regressed but a return to 6fs on ground he may like on a track he's run well on then worth a small bet to find out.The betting will be very interesting, obviousy if the stable thinks he can just run to 70 then he should be smashed off the boards in this race...

Johnny b goode 8/1 365 7/1 victor/lads/corals/sportsbook..actually thought it would open 5/1

7.50 Windsor

More desperate ground at Windsor there are four that stand out in this race Commanche,For Ayman,Potternello and secret look the two that are absolutely chucked in are secret look rated 57 tomorrow, was rated 85 last june but difficult to back on opresent form the other is for ayman with the claim tomorrow runs off just 56 which seems incredible when you look at last junes second to direct times off 72 has only had four runs on turf so looks ridiculously well in For ayman had commanche over 4ls behind in that Newmarket run and is 10 pound better off hasn't been running badly on the aw and has won on soft ground the ? is this desperate ground. The other two commanche and potternello both like this ground, commanches running off lowest mark since may 2013 with claim and has c/d form, similarly last season potternello won on heavy has SDS riding and is closely matched with commanche on Leicester run in slightky better race.
There are 16 runners in this race and they usually head farside on this ground secret looks drawn 7 potternellos drawn 4 and for aymans drawn 15 with commanche drawn 16 as that's the case then probably worth having a couple of small bets on commanche and For ayman and maybe putting potternello in for forecasts just incase sds performs another miracle...

Commanche 12/1 ppower 10/1 victor For ayman 12/1 365 11/1 victor

To make up a couple of lucky 15s

2,40 Ponte

Not quite sure why ginger jacks running at ponte usully favours front runners on this ground and he comes off the pace, but he does have a lot of ability on turf and in better clas races and is 3 pound below last winning mark has always been impossible to predict so the aw recent ruuns have made him look slightly overpriced.Hopefully fit they won't get away from him too much and hit the places 12/1 is to big if anywhere near lsast years turf form..

Ginger jack 12/1 corlas/ppoer 11/1 victor

Was waiting for stakes acclaim but as usual oddschecker suddenly appeared with massive ricks cut to half the oprice happening all the time on a sunday so will have to go with something else now at prices..

5.15 ponte

Will add in Darkn ocean s grade should be a bit beyond him off 84 would be highest winning mark, has won last two races over c/d has had a run also on this occasion could be set p for finisher with a few front runners bit exposed now probably better place chances..

Dark ocean 5/1 victor/hills

Not getting to involved over next couple of weeks as this is my holiday watching the world snooker and have some decent bets running on,for a very small interest tomorrow done a couple iof races with two from catterick Wednesday.Robbed of two 10/1 wunners today with oddschecker as I mentioned above and then the winner comes stands side which was obvious after the previous 6f race and secret look won as well also in write up,its unlucky but when you're guessing on the ground really shouldn't be betting..

4.55 Wolves

Inexes 5/1 Hardy Black 28/1

Backed this last time out as ran a very good race from the 11 draw behind progressive seycheloise back in November needs to improve on last run but that was after break and now pices on.Going to follow hardy black as last season was an eyecatcher behind woodbridge off 66 and in a decent time, similarly behind bosham off 66 over 6fs he looks a bit of a rogue and no headgear tomorrow so might be another run down the foeld but at these prices have to have something on him, lowest ever nmsrk tomorrow..

4.55

Pipers piping 5/1

I also backed last time out,not one you want to really be backing at these prices as such low grade race, completely pace dependant there are a few front runners in the race and might get race run to suit,if they don't go a clip will not figure..

2.55

Astra hall

Mick Appleby got astra hall to win last time out at ponte off 61 she'd been in the wilderness since august 2013 that was a slog in the mud at ponte unsure if catterick will suit but she's still relatively well handicapped as was rated 72 ast july runs off 62 with claim on Wednesday. When she was former trainer when she hit form usually kept it for long periods so interesting to see if Appleby can get another win out of her as buying her as 6yr old.Deep resolve looks the obvious alternative track form and likes the ground

Don't know whether the ponte form will stand up but the Ellison horses maiden when runner up was only a second slower than the very good sprint on the card won by stamp hill rated 82 carrying 6 pound less,i have mentioned over the last week these times on this ground are probably meaningless and the ponte form may not transfger to catterick but hopefully will at least be in the frame..

Chupalla

Johnston with yet another monster of a filly winning by 6ls and she never even looked like she was racing infact she was so much bigger than the other fillies she looked more like a miler than a 5f horse, she won in 1m0.09 faster than tiggy wiggy last seasons deutant winner at Kempton and just as impressive, you could probably knock a second off that time with improvement to come.Similarly like the Johnston winner at wolves impossible to really chick figures around but you'd have to think she's not just an early 2yr old but probably a 100 horse and she may even be a little bit special, last season bar a few fillies most were quite poor so chupalla already looks to be setting a high standard. If these aren't johnstons better fillies then he must have something very special.Alrea I will be keeping a close eye at ascot prioces over the next couple of months..

She's entered in the queen mary, bit early to take prices as nothings run yet she could be well down pecking order but she has the run I thought the way she won as above looked 100 horse, she ran faster than johstons other filly boater that won on the same card impossible to know which is better but chupullas 6 ponts biggert.Sure I will be having another bet as soon as some decent speedfgures are up but for time being worth having a token bet on here at 20/1...

5.25 Ayr

Hydrants beginning to look interesting after running on the aw over trips to far, different surfaces a couple of hurdle runs as well finished the turf season on mark of 73,this flat season has run two races back on absolutely desperate ground and that has allowed mark down to all time low of 60,even though the last run behind astra hall was well beaten that form has worked out extremely well with winner I put on here the other day hackig up by 6ls and the 3rd Russian royale also winning on the same card at catterick with 7ls back to the third.
This time lasdt year hydrant won off 61 over tomorrows c/d then won off 64 then returned to ayr winning by 6ls off 68 conor Beasley was on all the wins he's been injured and reunited with hydrant, whether it will be tomorrow or back here again quickly as is drawn 11 tomorrow all depends how long or easy gets to the front.Looks likely to be bet inj this race off this mark and worth following at double figure prices over the c/d he really likes, maybe even worth putting a lay in running if he doesn't get an easy lead..

5.05 Hamilton

Archies advice has been disappointing on the aw,an eyecatcher a couple of times but been disappointing off winnable marks recently those aw runs have now taken his turf mark to 68 finished last seasons turf season on 76.He runs at Hamilton tomorrow over the mile and last season on soft ground ran hios best races there, winning off 72 over tomorrows c/d then running second off 78 carrying bumper weight of 10 stone, this is now lowest masrk since august 2012 a repeat of those two runs would be a 4-5/1 chance to win this race tops.Has to be worth at least a small bet,the betting should be very informative off this mark will be a big gam,ble of stable think they have him spot on off current mark..hopefully at least a decent trade at these prices..Will keep watching out for him at this track in future if no show..

Dream of dubai
Maximian

Maximian wins today at 11/10...
