Benoordenhout
Leaderene

An extremely poor handicap, the times yesterday at lingfield were extremely quick but today it looks as though they came nearer to standard looking at the rest of the card so for using formwise probably more reliable. These two were up the front throughout and dominated winner off 47 and runner up first race of the season, the time for this grade of race was very respectable for such lowly rated horses. At least on this surface there should be plenty of opportunities off current marks and they could even run up sequences with slight improvement over this c/d.Both will be rated in the low 50s and can even drop a grade..

:):) Leaderene back at Lingfield was a knocking bet.

You nailed Ascot's 3.50 with Highland Acclaim and Golden Steps. A decent 21/1 forecast with Hughes and Fortune arguably the pick of the jockeys:<3:.

Great thread, as ever.

Only just seen books were going 13/2 and 6/1 this morning, absolutely crazy ran 2m30.26 in a canter over c/d two races back by 8ls.I backed them both ew in the ascot race and put in telmyd for fcasts woulsdv;'ebeen the tricast if it hadn't got left 6ls.Thought this years to follows wasn't as good as last years but july and august have ben brilliant all sorts of prices on all grades, the aws picks are ridiculous everythings winning.Be glad when newcastle surface is down and can knock this turf stuff on the head waste far to much time on it,when all the best value is on the aw.

Marsh hawk

Been some nice fillies this season and marsh hawk looks as good as any of them at least on soft ground, the time of the maidenwas very favourable compared to rene mathis .34 slower winning the class 2 handicap rated 94 and the solrera .44 quiker than the group 3.The pace of those races was not great for the first furlong, but the filly hacked up in her maiden by winning by 7ls she looks to have loads to come and one of the most interesting fillies that could be running during the autumn. This run alone she looks a group horse already...

A weak looking fillies maiden at first glance but a very interesting time and with two less fashionable trainers finishing first and second this form will probably get underestimated and they should be overpriced. The winner has an rpr of 74 and the runner up only 62,yert the time of this race was a second quicker than the the other 2yr old maiden won by 74 rated speedy move and also a second quicker than the older handicap which was run at decent clip. The winner of the older handicap could be anything and could be 2stone in but taking the runner up as the marker castorienta rated 69 the fillies current marks are looking very generous.Stroll patrol currently has an rpr of 74 no reason for it go up on this form and the runner up primrose valley was beaten 2 1/2ls easily she may go up 3 pounds for this run to around 65.They look very useful for nurserys off 74 and 65 on these times, plus under unfashionable trainers Mcbride and Vaughn. The form of primrose valley with 3/2/2 will be likely be dismissed yet tonight she has shown on the clock she is improving on turf over a fast 6fs.
There should be some nice value with these two in nurserys, what will alsio be interesting will be the marks of runners in behind as although beaten 6ls 3/4/5th they have still run near the time of the other maiden winner and hamdicap so they could be on really nice marks and with the Jarvis horse solstalla given an easy race on debut in 6th as well.An insignificant looking maiden that could throw up some real value!!

Dick whittington

It's worth keeping an eye on dick Whittington, this debut run was unlucky in running and just touched off by Saturday winner capella sansevero and was only debut run, also the time was decent only 1.11 seconds slower than the following handicap won by due diligence off 97.There looked lots of improvement to come, but on sunday getting beat at the curragh on desperate ground. The form of that race looks completely false, the winner was outclassed by dick Whittington on deut actually beat it further than the great war did on debut as well 7ls.The time also backs this up,a massive 4.43 seconds slower than the following handicvap indicating the 2yr olds hated the ground.I won't be backing this at short prices as I rarely back o'briens horses anyway but he should be overpriced on this run he should impriove for better ground and probably the removal of the hood which was also very strange. He may just go to ascot now and go there underated at a price that would not reflect his chances as debut run looked at least as good as 101 rpr capella sansevero and may just be a little bit of value.

Hoist the colours

Improved form for winner out of sea the stars and looked an out and out galloper under pressure 4fs out eventually going away at finish. He had first time blinkers on and although the form looks a little bit suspect with the two in behind also both with headgear, the time of the race equalled the standard time.He was on a mark of 74,will probably be in the 80s after this run but looks worth following on this surface at least and even over further, there looks a fair bit more to come..

Can't believe I only forecasted Capello and and KK like a dickhead, ignored the notification as well, no excuse, smashed it there though lad

I put it on here for the coventry, infact its the only o'brien horse that i have put up non of the rest of that field were on my to follows. The debut run it had the beating of capella, looked far the superior toscanini was 13/4ls behind in third on same ground as when just touched off by kool kompany. It looked a 2 horse race
,it all made sense form was spot on..

Anthem alexander

One of the best times,if not the best this season and performance and by a filly winning by 7ls hacking up in a very quick time. The following handicaop won by 92 rated my good brother in the older handicap carrying just 4 pound more but the filly looking far superior hoirse with ease of win and quicker by .04.This comes out of the blue, been very weak looking formlines and virtually nothing on the clock, this stands hand and shoulders time wise so far and worth backing her in everything she's entered. She could well be underestimated, she has produced more on the clock than present favs tggy wiggy and patience alexander in the queen mary..she's also related to dandy man and her dam won the molecomb...

10/1 Nunthorpe Victor/corals it makes sense on the above when winning at Tipperary running faster than good brother was rated 94 at the time but now rated 102 and anthem alexander looked the far superior horse. The nunthorpe she receives 27 pounds off 115 rated sole power, she must be worth a try at the prices...

Slingsby

A strange result and time on the card at redcar, very rarely back at the track and very rarely use the times for form but will make an exception with this strange looking time in the claimer. The 70 rated 3yr old rough courte beating the 51 rated slingsby by 2ls yet off levels, there seemed to be a huge advantage from the front as was seen in the class 4 handicaps over a mile and 7fs earlier on the card. The strange thing was the time, the claimer run .06 faster than the class 4 over a mile, both races they went a real clip rough courte had no form even at best to get near the time of that race amnd slingsbys was non existent. The time of the race also compared well to the 7f class 4 as well so as slingsby was only off 51 has only had 8 races it maybe worth giving him a couple of chances although not certain what his revised mark will be.He could just be massively overpriced if this run is repeated...

Dissent
Sweet talking guy

Kicking myself tonight as dissents penultimate run over 6fs was very quick, ran a second quicker than seamster winning the claimer rated 68 but carried 7 pound less than dissent yet dissent was only rated 53.What initially put me off was conor bealey hitting the horse 8 times ion final furlong when a street clear, punishing the horse for doing its best the inevitable stone rise came on top of that run.Tonight nothing could lay up with him even putin was totally outpaced 5/6ls behind even though his last run over c/d had been third to dinner at midnight.Actually think the winner was still finding at the end,if ridden with slightly more restraint I think he would've won this race by 3 or4ls.
He had been in the wilderness till penultimate win,had been runner upover 5fs at lingfield off 55 and now looks a completely different clas horse, hard to explain where improvement has come in just recent runs.If you go back to 2011 as 2yr old was rated 82 ran 3rd in a decent handicap at Kempton over 6fs in a decent time so the ability was there as a 2yr old,he's still only had 15 lifetime runs 11 on the aw.He still looks open to improvement,as he;s run well at Kempton these front running tactics could work even better there as some get given soft leads there compared to lingfield as you more often see the sprints run in slow times. He may even have the option of 5fs as well, although didn't show his form on previous run when didn't gert the lead he still looks interesting at lingfield and Kempton.
Sweet talking guy looks to hold the form down, but again a 4yr old he's only had 17 races but only 7 on the aw has won 2 at Kempton,he could still be improving and with this solid run off a solid pace at a new track to him becomes more interesting off just 68.He always looked a horse to follow after clocking 1m12.32 off 54 at Kempton sluicing up by 4ls,now he has proved himself over the 6fs at lingfield he has more options with the guaranteed pace at lingfield..

Venus marina
Risk n' reward

A desperate race winner rated 49 and runner up rated 51 the runner up had never run on turf so you could excuse all previous form and the winner although harder to excuse previous form between them they still only had 12 runs so wouldn't be major surprise if they were far better than current marks. The winner sluiced up,ashley morgan knew he was going to win this even though only as mentioned the filly only rated 49,the ground may well have been the major factor as on slow side. There was a further 9ls back to the third which gives the form a bit of substabnce and although the previous race for horses rated upto 75 wasn't run at a great pace this very poor handicap was only .10 slower than that race.It will be interesting to see if these runs are repeated as they do look like horses that could run up sequences starting from rock bottom and the second was first run for new trainer.
A lot of these course winners at Yarmouth only seem to act on these sort of tracks so if not racing here I'd be looking at styraight 7f races, the wall horse looks like she will get a mile but 7fs looks her right trip. They may just win a few more between them

Regal parade

The draw a big advantage again over the 6fs the 1st,2nd and 4th filled the first 3 places throughout, regal parade in 4 couldn't go the pace early getting shuffled back and having to eventually cover more ground by running widest and motoring to be nearest finish. He hasn't been placed in the first 3 since may 2013 is on lowest mark since april 2008,he obviously retains plenty of ability and even on ground faster than preferable today. He's on a mark of 87 was 6th in the ayr gold cup last season off 97, I don't know if he will be good enough to compete in that race but wouldn't be suroprised to see him run well in autumn handicaps at York or maybe the silver cup at ayr.
Again baby strange was huge eyecatcher, out the back 8ls off the pace on rail then switched to middle of track then eventually switched inside losing numerous lengths throughout. These two stood out in this race at respective ages of 10 against the pace advantage, baby strange similarkly conditions against him on quicker ground.I put him on here after Donny,he's been massive eyecatcher on last 6/7 runs he either gets no luck in running or the ground goes against and is looking on a mark that a race should fall into place off just 79.Off current mark he looks a real nice bet the problem will be taking advantage and getting the right ground!!

Marsh pride

Nice debut from the filly the time of the race was .84 slower than duke of cosimo winning the consolation clas 2 and 1.46 slower than the st Winifred. The most comparable time was the decent little conditions race on the card won again by anne Duffield by 81 rarted dark reckoning which was .02 slower than the filly in opener run at a decent pace. She could be extremely well handicapped when entered up in nurseries and the fact she's trained by anne Duffield could well be underestimated in betting..She's one to be with on a mark that will probably be underestimated on todays win.

Suzis conoisseur

Has been on to follows since last season after the musselburugh race, won a couple of races after and has steadily crept up the weights onto a mark of 98.
That mark would appear a little to high, but has contested some really hot hanbdicaps and has even off current mark looking like winning another race.He has caught the eye the last thre runs all races running on strongly, todaty was on out of field virtually only runner making up ground,he was pushed over to far side losing numerous lengths then badly hampered.Everyone was watching the unlucky run of the runner up in the race and he went ignored he would've been involved in the finish, after this run although will be in ultra competitive races he may just be a bit more value. He's still only had 14 lifetime runs and you could argue maybe slightly improving he could pick up a nioce race before the end of the season..

Mezzotint

Mezzotint was probably the best horse in the race, the lack of pace caught him out early dropped out then was travelling well before being hampered.Even when in clear kingscote gave him a bit of a strange ride with 3/4 furlong to go hand's n heels although only a couple of lengths behind. He eventually finished running up the back of the winner finishing with a bit in hand.
The 5yr old has had 19 runs on turf and 3 wins, was rated 99 at start of the sesson after finishing second to ayaar off 96 last sesson he looks extremely well handicapped now on just a mark of 85.His form is all on straight tracks over 7fs on god or faster ground and could well win a couple if comes on again after this run..There could be some nice races to be won with him..

Jamaican bolt
Evens stevens

Go far is progressing,he did well to win off 9 pound higher mark after being near the pace where the pace horses dropped away due to the overly quick pace set by evens stevens.Long waited was a fully 6ls opff the pace with 2 furlongs to go huge eyecatcher,go far still doing well to beast horse that looked to be cantering they may well both win again in near future.
Jamaican bolt has been disappointing Geoff oldroyd must've thought he had a potential listed class horse at least October 2012 when he split jack dexter now related 111 and mass rally now rated 105 a very hot race full of progressive sprinters.Jamaican bolt has not won a race since his form has regressed although he doesn't get right conditions to often still only 19 runs as 6yr old so potentially you could say he could still get back to that form.
When he has got his conditions he hasn't run well in weaker races and usually gets bet straight away, yesterday he ran well on griund that would've been to quick he's on lowest mark since his last win in September 2012.I have been avoiding him this season but as he's run well on ground he doesn't like against two well handicapped types then will give him a few chances through the autumn.
Evens stevens will also be interesting when he gets softer ground,he set blistering pace and still beat half the field wheras others that were up with pace dropped away.He looks ;ike being aimed at the catterick dash in October was 3rd off 81 in 2012 and won it last season off 86 he's currebntly off 86,i presume a few more runs on turf his mark will drop on quicker ground then he could be a nice bet on softer ground..
