Drf 2024

Saturday I backed Path D'aroux in the Ryanair handicap yesterday at a reasonable price. I might follow Grassie in with some sort of position on Il Et.. and I do think Redemption Day is worth an interest in the bumper.

Edit. Damn

If you haven’t watched these two guys before it’s well worth a watch. They preview the DRF this week.

I don't mind these two really although they do tend to sit a little too close together imo (not that there's anything wrong with that).

I do like Andrew's I am Maximus take. Can see him finishing second.

Considering Gaelic Warrior has never been beaten on this type of course that's a very bold statement to make.

Irish Point who you not describe as a 2 mile specialist ran him to a head so he's far from unbeatable.

I put GW up on here on 30th Nov for the Arkle. at that time he was @ 20/1 with the sportsbook so I had a dabble.

I have a slight preference for Marine Nationale so I tried to lay him off at 4/1 but 7/1 for 25 quid is all thats available so I decided to wait till Saturday.

I am not confident either way as they are only novices and neither is the next Sprinter Sacre

It’s a moot point now but I’m not sure what you mean by the opening statement Fist. His Auteuil record was 633 (admittedly pre Mullins) but his tendency to jump right has only been evident since his switch to Closutton and on left handed tracks since then he’s 212. The 1 coming off 143 in a novice handicap.

Whereas his record going the other way is 11111.

While it is a moot point, it’s something to remember if you plan on piling into him in the 2m5f Sunday race.

I should have said since joining Willie Mullins I did look back and noticed he had run in France but ignored it.

Haven't given much thought to backing him on Sunday as Willie has the first 3 in the betting and who knows which will run or if they all will........No doubt the owners Cheveley Park Stud, Rich and JP would like to win the race which just adds more confusion

Leave it out -these two boys are basically an upmarket version of the racing blogger -I prefer the blogger for the unintended comedy.Their need to latch on to any promising horse from Ireland is embarrassing.
They did a show with Ruby and Lydia at Christmas and Ruby found it hard to listen to their bullshit.

Ha ha, remember that, the look on his boat throughout was hilarious. You can tell he respects Rory though on the Monday PP show.

Nick - Mullins IET update (think it’s from his Life column today):

Won a Grade One hurdle around here under Danny and he takes his chance. He likes the track and might learn a little more on Saturday going a shorter trip.

FWIW, I think ‘Racing Josh’ and the other yoke are a pair of insufferable gobshites.

Each to his own, Luke, I quite enjoy them. On that show Ruby certainly showed his disdain and went down a good few notches in my estimation of him because of it.

I am currently concocting a conspiracy theory in my noggin that they might be trying to get him handicapped for the Plate or Grand Annual. Isn't in the betting for either race at present (as far as I can see), but will keep an eye on that.

Excellent -I can imagine what you really think.

Just read Willie's take on why he switched Gaelic Warrior and fair play to the man as he didn't have to.

I was abit surprised he never meationed the going as it seems to be drying out on the chase course which would surely lessen his chances over 2 miles???

In the opener on Saturday I've taken 9/2 Jetara ew (only 2 places, *spit*). Her OR of 142 means the best of the Mullins quartet will need to hit 150 to beat her - assuming she's here to run to win - and only Predator's Gold looks close to that. On adjusted RPRs, Jetara holds an 11lbs advantage over the field so she should, arguably, be odds-on.

I keep getting drawn back to the outer of the party, Dancing City. I think he really wants this longer trip of 2m6f, and for all that he has three stablemates shorter in the betting, 20/1 is a tempting price.

Both are oxygen thieves

I simply cant listen to that Andrew fellas fake accent, fcuking grates on me, that and the fact that 90% of what they spout is utter horse sh*te, Ruby had them well sussed.

I'm in a bit of a dilemna re: Gaelic Warrior.

I honestly thought if he were to run on Saturday he would have taken the world of beating but instead Willie elected to run Facile Vega who I wouldn't trust as far as I could throw.
I think he's the most overrated horse in the yard.

My worry is Gaelic Warrior, who I coudn't praise high enough at the start of the season, perhaps never worked as well as expected hence the switch.
In which case I am tempted to take him on with his stable companion Fact or File who is certainly the best horse he has faced to date.

Will be keeping my bet to a minimum in this one which could go either way
