Very sadly Francky du Berlais did not survive his fall at Chepstow today. First time he has ever fallen in his life of 62 runs and five completions of Aintree. Imagine the Bowen’s are devastated.

Just been watching it on YouTube -possibly the easiest ever winner over the National fences at the Grand National meeting.

Invincible Spirit has been retired from stud duties at Irish National Stud at age 27.
Sire of 22 Group 1 winners he put the INS back on the map the way Ahonoora did in my formative years.
The stud turned down the opportunity to stand his half brother Kodiac, thinking he had little to add to the roster.
