In the flesh:

Jumps: Denman's first Hennessy. I was always in the Kauto camp but that was the day The Tank came of age and he was magnificent.

Flat: Frankel's Juddmonte. The best horse in his utter pomp, the best (and most-loved) trainer in his terminal decline. Bittersweet perfection.

Watched on TV:

Jumps: Kauto's last Betfair. The essence of what National Hunt racing is all about. I was in floods.

Flat: Oh So Sharp's 1000 Guineas. How did she get up??

It was a great effort by Flagship Uberalles but Well Chief won the race in 2005 off top weight as a 6yo.

It's a shame the race isn't a handicap anymore.

Jesus Christ. Thanks for posting that. Forgotten all about that race. Flagship Uberalles is such a hero of a horse, so genuine. Pity the owners were such cunts but his colours and his style if racing are hard to forget.

2 miler chasers are the greatest IMO.
