Festival Trials Day Cheltenham Sat June 30

Just wondering if there's a case to be made for sticking with the big yards at Cheltenham this year. This winters weather conditions must've made it difficult for those without top facilities to get the required amount of work into their horses and these storms don't appear to be stopping.

did you see state of it though Col..Jonjo must have had 500 runners with no winners in last 7 weeks:)..even for him he's holding back a bit with with actually training em to win races..mid Feb maybe?

To be fair that's been pretty much the case for the last few seasons anyway Bear.

I don't remember as many yards being under the weather as we've seen this year. It's worth keeping a really close eye on through to the Festival.

Djakadam is back home. He has a cut on his chest that required stitching & will have an easy week walking.

Irish Cavalier went out like a light as well. Definitely a yard to continue avoiding. Shocking season.

I thought Curtis's horses had got back in the groove.

I backed Irish Cavalier but noted immediately after the race:
I was not happy with Irish Cavalier after a couple of fences. Geraghty was shaking the reins at him after each fence and I suspected then he just wasn’t firing. The change in the going probably was to blame but at least his handicap mark won’t suffer and he will be competitive in a big race another day.

The Romford Pele certainly ran a blinder later in the day.
