Racing Post these few days have articles on the headline makers of the first quarter of this century.
RPRs of top 25 NH horses has Kauto Star top rated with Bristol de Mai at 25 and ne'er a sign of Hurricane Fly; WPM has only 3 of the top 25.
John Randall's list of top 25 history makers has APOB and WPM the top two with Frankel the top racehorse at number 4. Thankfully Hurricane Fly is not forgotten, his 22 Grade 1 hurdle wins list him at 21 but with Altior, Big Bucks and Kauto Star ahead in this equine/human flat/NH list.
All very entertaining and thought provoking no doubt to old greyheads like myself.

Not much, Edgt.

Apart from.
How to smoke.
How to gamble.
How to party.
How to be a family man.
How to spout shite on here.
How to take on big pharma.

That despite the loss off 3 of the best in Kauto Star Denman and Big Bucks Paul Nichols continue to churn out the numbers and prove he is one of the greatest trainers ever to grace the turf

That the BHA are unfit for purpose and are standing idly by while our sport is handed over, finally, to the bookmakers. The root and branch, pride in product overhaul that has been required for decades will never happen until the BHA has acquired some teeth, actual pride in its product and respect for the base of the horseracing industry - the punters.
I won't be holding my breath. Instead, we'll be the sad, impotent spectators at the continued decline of our sport.

Unless, that is, we learn to love too much racing, too many fields of less than eight runners, more and more AW racing (which I'm sure some would love, the continued force feeding of 5f-6f class 5 & 6 races, the continued downgrading of races further than 12f, the eventual disappearance of chasing altogether (or maybe only 2m chases left).

Yes, I’m afraid I’ve seen the emphasis change from the sport of horse racing and cater for bookmakers to the business of bookmakers and cater for horse racing. I thought it was very telling on Saturday at Cheltenham that the very British winning owner of Jet Blue said that she raced her horses in France because of the prize money and that Jet Blue had just been brought over for her birthday.

Yes, pathetic prize money. Yet will we be in any way learning from countries that have far superior prize money to us? No, of course not.
Where are the presenters on TV racing to present these issues and address them with those who have authority in the sport, in the BHA?
There is no champion for the punters at all.
The whole thing is a shambles.

He isn't fit to lace Henry de Bromheads boots.

You're having a laugh? He's trained over 200 less winners in the last 5 years. Has a 15% strike rate compared to PN who has a 24%strike rate and he has won over 5 million less than PN in prize money.
,But hey why should you care about facts and miss an opportunity to noise me up? 😀

Not at all -when Henry has been busy training a multiple Champion Hurdle winner, the First two home in a Grand National and successive Gold Cups in the last 5 years tell us what Pumpkinhead has done in that time.

To be honest I couldn't be fucked doing the research but when you look back to the races pm won with Big Bucks, Denman, Kauto Star and of course he also won a National with Neptune Collonges and the fact he has still brought on 5million more than Henry I would say he has done more than lace his boots

To be fair Luke, when you give someone a derogatory nickname, it don't really matter if the guy has won the last 5 GC's and CH's, you still wouldn't give him any credit. The fact he is English and not Irish just puts the cherry on the cake for you. I like a lot of your opinions Luke even though we have crossed paths, but come on lad, your biases are so so obvious. And no, I don't really like Nicholls that much, then again I don't like trainers who sit on dead horse's necks either, you seem to like that type. I wonder what it was that swayed you in not giving him a derogatory nickname?

If you don't do the research you can hardly expect me to engage you in debate.
I am well aware he hasn't had the ammunition De Bromhead had over the last few years However despite having multiple Champion Hurdle winner, the First two home in a Grand National and successive Gold Cups he still cant compete with PN on the most important things like Strike rate and money earned........I remind you he has earned 5 million pounds less that PN and that says it all

This is the quality v quantity debate -Ruby v AP. I would go for quality every time.

I don’t know where you’re getting your figures from, but you’re probably forgetting the small matter of prize money won in Ireland and on the flat. Add those in and you will find that the HdB stable has won
around €9m in Ireland plus £5m in GB in the last five years. Nicholls has won £13m in GB and €0.3m in Ireland in the same period. These figures, courtesy of the Racing Post, put Nicholls about a million ahead when currency differences are taken into account.

My own opinion is that they are both fine trainers.

I did realize that think all up it's less than 1 million but Henry has had a lot better ammunition to fire over the last few years...tbh I wasn't about to give Luke the pleasure of noticing...He's one nasty piece of work who immediately came out guns blazing and insulting a trainer who won the trainers championship 17 times.....no matter how hard I try he just keeps attacking my posts. I am sick of it so f%*& him....that latest comment about sitting on dead horses is disgusting and says it all about him

Guys...again...STOP!
Put each other on Ignore....I and plenty of others are getting tired of this constant childish behaviour!
