Flat horses to note for the season

Promoter - 5th/7 10/1

Running Balance: - 15.4

Tomorrow:

BLUESTOCKING - (Chester, 14:05)

timeform
Shaped well when placed behind Warm Heart in Newbury listed race/the Ribblesdale at Royal Ascot (1½m, good to firm) before collared only close home by Savethelastdance in the Irish Oaks. Decent fourth in Yorkshire Oaks since and obvious claims back down in class.

ROSALLION - (Doncaster, 13:50)

timeform
Justified market confidence when making a winning debut at Newbury and followed up in most impressive fashion in the Pat Eddery at Ascot, beating a subsequent winner by 4 lengths in a good time. Sets a clear standard and hard to beat.

Wouldn’t you know it, two odds-on shots both beaten- they did both drift, though!!

Bluestocking - 2nd/7 8/11f - Bluestocking, whose second in the Irish Oaks was one of a number of notable efforts this season, looked to have been found a suitable opportunity to get her head back in front. However, after taking it up she was reeled in late on and her wait to add to her juvenile success goes on.RP

Rosallion - 3rd/5 4/5f - Rosallion made it 2-2 in impressive style at Ascot, when the runner-up was a long way behind, but he failed to get it done on this rise in grade, already being held when his old rival edged into his path. Better was expected, clearly, and perhaps the ground was to blame.RP

Running Balance: - 17.4

Tomorrow:

AL ASIFAH - (Yarmouth, 15:45)

timeform
Frankel filly who ran out an easy winner on debut in a Haydock maiden (10f) in May and took the rise in class in her stride with an impressive success in listed company at Goodwood (9.9f), hard held. Best not judged on Ribblesdale effort 11 days later and remains an exciting prospect.

Al Asifah 7th/14 10/11fav. Had a bumpy start, raced in rear then put in a challenging position 3 out. Found nothing when asked, but Jim Crowley didn’t seem to press the point and just let her fall back to 7th in the end. Pipe opener? Maybe, but it was too bad even for that, I think.

Running Balance: - 18.4

And tomorrow:

WARNING SIGN - (Chelmsford City, 17:24)

timeform
Close second at Newbury on penultimate outing and confirmed return to form when third of 11 in handicap at Epsom (12f, good) 24 days ago. Respected.

Warning Sign 2nd/7 7/2 - Warning Sign was given a sensible ride considering the lack of pace and had no excuses. It's impossible to know, however, whether he wants this trip as this wasn't a test.RP. (Carried across track by winner, but did it make any difference)

Running Balance: - 19.4

Tomorrow:

SECRET ANGEL - (Ayr, 14:50)

timeform
Useful filly. Creditable 4¼ lengths third of 11 to Ocean Quest in Ballyogan Stakes at Naas (5.9f, good, 17/2) 26 days ago. Not totally dismissed.

Secret Angel 2nd/12 9/1 - Secret Angel came through to get the best of a bunch finish for second. A three-time winner as a juvenile, she's been a consistent sort this year without getting her head in front.RP

Running Balance: - 20.4

Tomorrow:

GAASSEE - (Newbury, 14:40)

timeform
Back on to form when fourth over 1½mat Haydock (Old Newton Cup) and Ascot in July. Not at best when only sixth at Sandown back down at this trip 3 weeks ago but he's proven in the mud and is capable of bouncing back for yard which won this with Ilaraab in these silks in 2020.

MONTASSIB - (Ayr, 15:35)

timeform
Scored at Newmarket (7f) in May and got back on track when eighth of 25 in International at Ascot (7f, good to soft) 56 days ago. Possibilities off a 1 lb lower mark.

He is interesting in that. In fact the theme of tomorrow is horses from top trainers stepping down in trip. Montassib qualifies for that as does Gaassee who has run over 10f but only on good. I bet Balance Play for that race during the week at 6s and 7s though. His stable companion Baltic Voyage started out this season over 12f, won at Ripon over 10 before getting outpaced at Goodwood and pulling hard at Sandown. He steps down to a mile in the 5.00 at Newbury and is a big price.

tomorrow:

ST VINCENTS GARDEN - (Curragh, 16:10)

timeform
Lightly-raced winner. Winner at Fairyhouse in June. Stable having good spell. Up in trip for his handicap debut and not discounted.

16th/30 6/1

DOOM - (Redcar, 15:50)

timeform
1/25, didn't do a great deal wrong when beaten length by Karmology in a match maiden at Ripon (8f, good to firm) just over 3 weeks ago, headed last ½f. Should prove hard to beat with experience on her side.

KING OF CONQUEST - (Goodwood, 15:40)

timeform
Got up a 4-timer, landing big-field 9f handicaps in Bahrain and at Newmarket before battling well to take listed C&D contest in May. Better than the result at Royal Ascot next time but not so good in cheekpieces (on again here) at Haydock 7 weeks ago. Soft ground in his favour.

NADER KING - (Kempton, 19:00)

timeform
Opened account at Nottingham in April. 7/2, disappointing when eleventh of 12 in handicap at Goodwood (11.2f, soft) 54 days ago. Makes polytrack debut with tongue strap on 1st time. Needs to resume his progress

King Of Conquest hasn't raced on anything slower than g/s,indeed RP timed ground has 'good' rather than the official g/s for 2 of them.
I've bet Savvy Victory to reverse the Haydock form on ground he'll absolutely relish.

WON 5/6 -DOOM, who suffered one of the shortest priced defeats in British racing history when turned over at odds of 1-25f at Ripon at the start of the month, made amends, sprinting clear inside the final furlong to open her account at the sixth attempt. She's well bred, so it remains to be seen if she's kept going or if her attentions now turn to the paddocks.RP

2nd 5/1 - King Of Conquest, disappointing in a Group 3 at Haydock when wearing first-time cheekpieces, had won over the C&D at this level in May and he bounced back to form despite the ground being plenty soft enough, running a horse close who he was 11lb wrong with at the weights.RP .

5th 9/1

Results above Running Balance: - 24.5 and for tomorrow:

THEORYOFEVERYTHING - (Pontefract, 15:55)

timeform
Created a taking impression when making a winning debut in 7f Doncaster novice (heavy) in April. Yet to build on that though and was below form sporting first-time cheekpieces at Goodwood (9.9f, soft) 8 weeks ago. Needs to get back on track.

3rd/7 9/2 - Theoryofeverything, last seen at Glorious Goodwood, appreciated the drop in grade and shaped as though he still has something to offer.RP

Running Balance: - 25.5

Tomorrow:

TIME LOCK - (Newmarket, 14:25)

timeform
Knocked on the door in listed/Group events before making the most of a good opportunity in a listed race in France last time. Likely to be in the shake-up again

Think I stuck her in here early this year? Anyway she popped up on my tracker last night so I backed her at 9s...mind you she’s owed me from this season. Hope they keep her in training though as she’s a lovely big filly who should do better next year.

Yes, early in May.

Very late on parade, sorry. Blame the Ryder Cup :)

Vandeek - (Newmarket, 15:00)

Timeform 625,000 gns breeze-up buy who made a big impression twice before upping his game again to land the Prix Morny in gutsy fashion last month. More progress on the cards and makes plenty of appeal.

Wildfell - (Newmarket, 15:40)

Timeform Highly progressive since joining this stable, winning first 4 starts this year. Improved further when a close second in 17-runner event at Glorious Goodwood (1m, soft) in August but he was beaten by more than the longer trip when always in rear over 1¼m at Doncaster recently. 4 lb out of weights.

American Flag - (ParisLongchamp, 16:43)
Race: Qatar Prix Dollar (Group 2) 7

Open To Question.( Noel Meade)
Ran a nice race on debut yesterday
Missed break , ran on nicely through them to be 4th beaten 4.75 L at 20/1.
By Noble Mission and a typical Meade good looking horse.
More to come hopefully.

Having a Victor Meldrew moment here.
Horse just won Juvenile Hurdle at Gowran at 12/1 or 14/1.
Was too busy to even notice he was running.

Vandeek WON 5/4
Wildfell 29th/34 100/1
American Flag 9th/9 16/1 - not counting in balance

Running Balance: - 21.0

Tomorrow:

INSINUENDO - (Tipperary, 14:40)

timeform
Useful mare. Latest win at the Curragh in March. 5½ lengths seventh of 11 to Lumiere Rock in Blandford Stakes at the Curragh (10f, good to soft, 15/2) 21 days ago. Down in trip and each-way claims.starstarstar

DRAMATISED - (ParisLongchamp, 16:25)

KERDOS - (ParisLongchamp, 16:25)

MAKAROVA - (ParisLongchamp, 16:25)

ROSALLION - (ParisLongchamp, 13:15)

Aye, came up in our tracker, but cut it since hurdle. Shame :D

CATCH THE PADDY - (York, 17:15)

timeform
Won a 6f course nursery last summer and good second oif 14 in 7f course handicap on reappearance in May. Hasn't built on that in his 2 outings since and now steps up to 1m for the first time.

Catch the Paddy won today Bar. I didn't back him as he'd let me down too often.
