Frost vs Dunne

Frost and Dunne - What's to Blame?

I wrote this this afternoon, because what the racing world definitely needs is more amateurs offering their opinions and pushing their own media. I will say one thing in favour of me is it's a quick read and not a podcast.

If there's any issue with linking this here I'll delete the link. I don't want to step on toes even if I don't have big hooves to do the stomping.

Just seen this - for those who were wondering what the world was like back when Kirsty and I ( and many, many others) were talking about and why we did it - it’s this. All the this…

Massively powerful acting.

The very fact he is stretching this out is bad news for racing.

He might pick up the odd spare no one else wants to ride if he did come back
but it's no longer about who's right and who's wrong

overall most owners and trainers will turn their backs on the guy as they wont want their name associate with him

His career is over as a jockey either way.

What is notable is that an appeal to the Board is by way of review rather than rehearing save in exceptional circumstances- so it will review the case on the evidence heard before the Panel . Although he has appealed against both finding and penalty it is notable also that he has not sought a stay of the ban. This would tend to suggest they think his best chance is of a reduction in penalty.

Makes perfect sense. The ban more or less ends his career, any reduction gives him a chance.

Fair play to him, it shouldn't have been the end of his career.

That should not be read as my condoning his actions - a lengthy ban was right but everyone deserves a second chance after they've fucked up.
