I'm not a massive U2 fan but couldn't help pumping up the volume. We don't get enough concerts on TV.

Agree completely about not enough concerts on tv, we seem to be obsessed by stupid music videos, everything overproduced...

Was once a huge U2 fan, seen them several times but got fed up of Bono telling me I was a bad person so said I wouldn't go to them again until I got a free ticket for their last gig in croke park....credit where it's due, they put on some show. Recommend a night out at them to anyone.

Have to agree with you there. Of the 80,000 people at their concerts at least a couple of them were likely to be worse than you.

Bono teetering dangerously towards the 'Alvin Stardust' end of the leather-clad-rocker spectrum on my viewing last night.

Vertigo is a quality tune though.

I saw them at Slane a few years ago and they blew the hinges off the place.

I used to love them but got sick of Bono's patronising bullshit. Performances like that always draw you back though.

The only U2 song that I can play over and over again is Sunday Bloody Sunday. I find everything else tedious, I'm afraid. Was very impressed with Cee Lo Green last night, and Chase and Status. Hearing The Windmills of Your Mind today brought a tear to the eye..not a song I've ever liked, but lyrics that, when one has reached a certain age, suddenly have meaning and tear at the heartstrings. Decided must go to Glastonbury next year,,,and they're having a year off, darn it.

Much rather listen to the retro funk of Jamiroquai than the droning bombastic u2

he is a berk but first few albums were great stuff. Always loved that Stevie/Curtis/702 funk sound

Looking at the line-up it's fairly clear they put three artists between U2 and the WU to stop the former looking like the sad old gits they are.

they can still play the arse of most other bands around now Euro..old or not

and no..they weren't my era

there are lots of "musicians" around just masquerading as such

Saw some of Elbow, who I thought sound wise weren't great , and Beyonce, who seemed to stamp her feet a lot to backing singers/musicians.

Saw U2 years ago at Wembley when they rolled out Rushdie and a live link to Bosnia, that did it. A friend who works for a major leading charity said Bono's main interest in the charity was what kind of car was picking him up and how long would he have to stay?

I got a bit bored of Kaiser Chiefs a couple of years back, but did enjoy their set yesterday. Thought Paul Simon was tedious, and Beyonce was dire [very professional, but dire]. That is not what I would make the pilgimage to Glastonbury to see. Yet again the Pierce Sisters did an amazing accoustic song [they did the Jools Holland show recently] and, yet again I googled them but couldn't find any of their music that I liked. Where is all the new music that we used to get a taster of? What I saw of The Kills looked rather good. And I loved Pendulum.

I think U2 are class. Whatever else (and I don't care for Bono's political shite), they are certainly great entertainers in my book.
