Glorious Goodwood

For all Blue Rose Cen was very impressive last time, I think Nashwa has actually achieved more and I'm a wee bit surprised she isn't favourite. I've been toying with the idea of backing Nashwa for the last 48 hours and still can't decide so I'm not having a bet in the race. I respect the French filly too much to bet against her.

Changed my mind. Nashwa shouldn't be anywhere near 11/4 so I've taken the price. If the fav is better so be it.

The King has a nice St Leger horse.
Hope he continues to improve; looks a fine stamp of a horse.
Agree and horse looks very versatile....be nice to have a Royal Classic winner again. Another great ride by Tom.

Al Husn is improving all the time and she shocked the odds on Nashwa lto. Doubtless Nashwa wasn’t quite ready that day, but it still leaves 12/1 a bit much. If anything is going to beat the French filly it might even be her.

Thank you very much.

I’m not sure she was that warm...not like Espionage who completely boiled over

Well done, BJ. It's at least some consolation to know that you found the winner. Softens the disappointment.

Pleased for you, BJ.

Having expected the Oaks 3rd to force the pace, she sat behind a funereal pace hoping to do them for speed?
Little wonder it turned out to be the travesty it was.

I actually think that was a really bad ride by Hollie. Gave her far too much to do.
I’m not sure it was a really bad ride. I think she just expected the mare to pick up but she didn’t. She has since said that she got stuck in the gluey ground which is perfectly plausible.

Well its golden mile time again and I havent a clue what will win it.
Will Omeara win it again will Johnson finally get a winner, will Tacarib bay finally deliver.

I've done BLUE FOR YOU 12/1 taken and happy with that.
Also done BOPEDRO 25/1 has been running well.

And of course savers on Orbaan and Rhoscolyn.
I still dont think Rhoscolyn as been running well enough this year.

Aftertiming I know but I did YOUNG FIRE 9/1 at Leicester the other night and that was an impressive win.
Rode for luck and almost got boxed in but quickened up well to win on the line.

A number of jocks confirmed the ground was tacky, which is reasonable considering it was drying out.
It does seem though, that some gave their mounts an 'easy' because of it?

On actual times, they were running less than a second per furlong slower than standard and one or two of the jockeys were saying it was 'almost good'. Maybe some horses find it 'gluey' or 'tacky' when others don't? (I don't know.) It would suggest there was an element of drying out. Hopefully it will be closer to good again by Saturday.
