Not a betting race for me but I think the 1425 Fairyhouse could be a great battle between Oldschool Outlaw and Place de la Nation.

Bit of a toss up between the two but I prefer Oldschool Outlaw on my ratings , plus even though Place de la Nation was 5th the Cheltenham Triumph Hurdle Stakes, there has been no previous instances of any runners coming from that race to this Fairyhouse Solerina Mares Novice Hurdle Stakes 2m 2f 40y Grade3. Where as although unplaced in the Aintree Mares Standard Open National Hunt Flat Stakes 2m 209y Grade2 in April, runners form that race have a 4 out of 8 win strike when coming to this race.

Will the market show the way ? Oldschool Outlaw is currently 1.79 and Place de la Nation 2.48
Point of interest, winners of this race have a 5 out 9 (55.6%) strike when heading to the following Fairyhouse Honeysuckle Mares Novice Hurdle Stakes 2m 4f Grade 1 at the backend of April

Oldschool Outlaw moved well ahead after the last, so one to watch going to the Fairyhouse race in April.

Will Irish runners at Aintree and Sandown dwindle with the Irish trainers title in the air?

If Gordon take the Irish National, it could well be on.

Id say they’ll both be keeping a few back.

Real winner of all this is Dan Skelton.
Its to be considered but Willie will def target UK national hard and see neither not aiming best strings at Cheltenham

The easter Fairyhouse meet will be a winner too as it should see more competitive racing

Soon Geneva JP will own every horse in every race at Chelters, so much for competition. When are Racing authorities going to limit the number of horses in the same ownership. Think he had seven in the hcap chase at Leopards on Monday!

Disgrace that they got away with it but no real surprise.
One thing that strikes me from the outcome statement is jockey competence, pretty clear the P. Byrne is a pretty incompetent jockey and maybe he should have his licence withdrawn for his own safety....

That's actually a very valid point in a numerous way. Do you mind if I steal the idea?

1450 Navan William Hill Boyne Hurdle (Grade 2) 5yo+ : Prize Money £23086.96

On ratings I have current 2.42 fav Staffordshire Knot clear top rated and current 4.5 2nd fav Better Days Ahead 2nd top, after that all the others seem not much between them.

It's interesting how currently 13.5 shot Maxxum features in the trial race stats i.e. it was 3rd in the Fairyhouse Hattons Grace Hurdle Stakes 2m 4f Grade1 in Nov 25, and runners coming from that race have a 15 out 24 (62.50%) each way strike when going to the following Boyne Hurdle.

And all 3 horses are trained by Gordon Elliott

Win bet on Staffordshire Knot but will do a saver on Maxxum and probably Better Days Ahead if I can get a big enough price.

The 4.20 Navan is my kind of race and after any amount of probing and trawling, I've chosen.

Evie's Vladimir 4.20 Navan 20/1 Ew 5 places

I'm thinking the distance and ground will suit this one, who was not unconsidered for the Welsh National at one point. I do like the boy on board, too: Eoin Staples claiming a nice 5Lbs.

Being a Shirocco out of a Un Desperado mare, it must point to him needing this 3m at least. He's won over C/D, too.

Decent value, I think.

Good luck

De Bromhead’s first winner for some while, there.

Yeah. That's what put me off him. His previous chase he was travelling ok when coming down behind Ney, who's decent but when I saw De Bromhead's form, I disregarded Rokathir altogether.

Didn't really like the ride given to my fellah; the young jockey was too far back and just as he was improving, he made a mistake which was critical. Too much ground to make up once he got going again.

I'll take the win Staffordshire Knot , didn't get to see it as I was out in a crap signal area.
Hhhmm should have considered doing the trifecta on the 3.
I see in the end the isp was 2.1 & the bsp 2.25

The Wallpark is the biggest joke of a cheating horse this year by miles..
Ok, I guess I'm being naive and haven't had a chance to see the video of the race but can someone explain why Slim says The Wallpark " is the biggest joke of a cheating horse this year by miles without telling me that I'm stupid for asking ...Thanks
