Looks like few of the Irish horses will be coming over

Henry has mentioned Minella but surely Envoi

Willie has Allaho too but owners may not want both

Is there anything for Asterion Forlonge right-handed over Christmas? I might be tempted to back him for this.

Scratchings: Waiting Patiently, Clondaw Castle, Espoir De Romay, The Big Breakaway, Cloth Cap & Kitty's Light.

If I thought for 1 minute Envoi Allen was coming over....8/1?..

We are desperately in need of some new blood in the 3m chasing ranks

Frodon is a fun pony to watch

Clan Des Obeaux has always looked 2nd rate to me in comparison to other winners.

Envoi Allen would be like a breath of fresh air if he were to come over but at 8/1 on offer the bookies obviously think there's very little chance of that happening

Envoi Allen due to run in the John Durkan this weekend, Fist. Allaho also left in for the same owner.

Energume taken out of the race, but left in the Hilly Way at Cork, so looks like they will stick to the 2m route for the time being (Allaho also given this option).

Cheers! It looks like Mullins is out to pick up both 40k paydays with Energume and Alloho plus the 70k Tingle Creek.

Had a look at his form and the weak link could be Alloho who has yet to win first time up.

With Envoi Allen being Henry's only entry he looks likely to run as you suggest.

If he were to win with the minimum of fuss and 3 weeks until the King George??? doubtful I suppose

Unless it turns up a bog I wouldn't fancy his other entry Minella Indo one bit.

I'm still scratching my head wondering how he managed to win the Gold Cup.

Minella Indo is almost certain to go in the Savills. Almost all of the Irish entries are precautionary I’d say, in case the weather puts Leopardstown in doubt.

It was the hill that that was off-putting and probably why Rachael deserted him.

He must have had 6 lengths on Champ in the RSA and stopped like shot.

My thought was the 2nd and 2rd in whatever order would have been too strong for him.

I wasn't the only person who got it wrong and thought Rachel surely couldn't be wrong.

Anyway it looks like we're in for another average Gold Cup with Monkfish sidelined and Envoi Allen looking like a Ryanair horse

Can see Envoi losing at the weekend. Then coming out at Christmas vs Chacun over 2m. Henry talks a lot about how much pace he has, highly doubt we’ll see him going Gold Cup route.

APT - Gold Cup
Allaho - Ryanair
Envoi - Champion Chase

em, a really good horse who has Cheltenham form and wasn't stopping at any stage coming up the hill

He got a nice lead in the Gold Cup, one he never enjoyed in the RSA. I went into last season convinced Monalee would fulfill that role but it ended up being Frodon.

I think this is a good take on him

A somewhat mentally lazy horse that needs something to focus on and betetr off a decent slip than a slow and steady

APT is classier but MI wins a battle

Re: the Gold Cup are we being to quick to write off Al Boum Photo 20/1 (huge IMO) who will only be 10 years of age in March?

Let's not forget he is a dual winner and went off at 9/4 fav in March.

They can all have an off day.

He then ran a cracker behind dual King George winner Clan des Obeaux on a track he failed to win at and at a distance he has never won at.

I rate last season's Gold Cup very highly. Better than the likes of Best Mate.

(Stands back and watches it kick off...)

To be fair, it was Fist who took it off-piste, DO - not you.

He is nothing but a trouble-maker, if you ask me. :D
