League of Neightons Competition, any interest ?

I'm sorry to have missed this. Prepared to be a reserve if required. If this were football I'm qualified for England, Ireland and Canada. Bit of a mongrel really.
 
Rules

Daily entries can be made on either the Talking Horses Forum or the Final Furlong forum.

One selection each day in THREE races of your choice at Glorious Goodwood, Tuesday to Saturday, and THREE races of your choice at the Galway Festival, Tuesday to Saturday, with one selection at each meeting noted as a nap. In the event naps are not nominated selections will be settled on a £1 win basis on all selections. Selections for each meeting must be in by the start of the first race each day at that meeting and no alterations are permitted thereafter.

A virtual £2 win bet will be placed on your nap at each meeting with a virtual £1 win bet on your other selections. Stake money will not be included in any returns but losing selections result in losing the virtual stake. If your selection is a non runner, the virtual stake is placed on the favourite for that race, however joint or co favourites will be settled accordingly. For the purpose of this competition any Rule 4 deductions will be ignored.

Team members as listed above will represent England, Ireland, Wales, Scotland and the Rest Of The World. There will be six players in each team, one of which is captain.
If a team member fails to post selections on any day, the captain may make selections on behalf of that player or alternatively elect to use his/ her own selections again. If a captain fails to nominate which method to use, his/her own selections will be the default method used for settling purposes on that day.

The winning country will be the one achieving the highest profit or smallest loss over the five days.

An individual competition will run alongside the team competition using the same rules. The individual with the highest profit or smallest loss over the five days at each meeting will win £25 and the individual with the highest combined profit or smallest loss will win £50. These prizes have been generously donated by Grey. The overall runner up will win a £20 free bet donated by RayH.

Individuals must play on all five days and make selections in all races to qualify for the individual competition.

Random Notes
Captains could opt to play strategically by nominating the races in which they want their individual players to make a selection so that all races are covered each day. However individuals who want to select their strongest fancies in the three races of their own choice may disagree.

First reserve of four TS , if two more come forward we can add another team, not a problem

One of the Scottish lads has had to pull out owing to ill health, so Tout Seul is now in the Scottish team.
 
I feel sorry for grey. My record for dissent in these completions added to Del Boy being a complete guesser does not bode well for our glorious nation.

Yo Barry. I assumed you were captain because you'd been on the Swansea/Cork ferry once. That or you'd once been discovered with a daffodil stuck up your @rse. :lol:

Great honour though it is to lead one's nation, it would be easier to train cats to play rugby than get this team to perform next week.

Our team would go to pieces if there was a drinks ban. It came down to a choice between having a team available or locked up for the week in John Of Gods.

It has been brought to my attention that I have been stripped of the Irish captaincy, and after numerous calls for a statement, I have the following to say. I will be making no further comment.

"As a result of constant speculation, and continued discussion on twitter, facebook, talkinghorses and the national media, I wish to state that the naming of Grey as Irish captain is in know way related to the affair I had with either of Slimchances girlfriends/life partners. Ìt is widely know that i SHOULD be captain, and of course I am the spiritual leader of the national team, but our European overlords are conspiring against patriots such as myself, in case we gain too much power, and revolt. Myself and Slimchance are professional enough to get along with one another for the greater good, at least until the paternity tests, which are not due until the conclusion of the event. I hope this is the end of the matter, and that in the unlikely event of us losing, that there is nobody pointing the finger at our "captain"."
 
I wouldn't let you captain a life raft if I was the only other person on it and had two broken legs you useless guessing ****.
