Lexus Chase

I'm all over Hidden Cyclone in this. Crying out for the step-up, imo, and a real gutsy tool.

To ensure consistency of madness, I will be laying Flemenstar for my plums.

Delighted to see Pandorama back on the track. Really hope he can get back to where he was pre his injury. Was raging they ran him on that ground in the gold cup. He had no chance.

I view it differently, granger. The horse finished close enough to SDC in his second chase outing to warrant attention on softer ground over a longer trip, and he had a G1 winner comfortably beaten last time out. With improvement expected over 3m (imo), his price looks about right to me.

The craziest price in the village is the 11/8 about Flemenstar, given his stamina is completely untested at this kind of trip (acknowledge he won over 3m in Points, but still). Mind you - I said more or less the same about the 1.7 for Long Run to be placed in the King George!

Flemenstar is plenty short - no doubts

HC is probably going to be a good horse but I couldn't see him being more than a mid 160's animal. He is unexposed and open to improvement, but still far too short for me

I don't think SDC is a winter animal so the proximity of HC to him is somewhat of a false positive for me

The only thing not to like about Flemenstar is his price in this particular hot-looking race. Otherwise, I agree with what you've said, Ardross.

Something has to be favorite and Flemenstar is a worthy one. Agree too short, risk v reward doesnt stack up. A watching brief and cheer on the star for me. Would love him to hit the line from a never closer Sir Des Champs. SDC to reverse form in March.

Certainly Sir Des Champs gave all the right signs that this trip would suit him better than Punchy but the Flemenstar was ridden to win at that trip.

A little tweak here and there I expect a repeat of that result here. As Grassy says the only thing not to like is the price.......... but better a winner than a loser any day

1. Flemenstar 2. Sir Des Champs is boring but that's how I see it.

Would hope that at least one of the first two is very good and that they win nicely.

Am not deserting Flemenstar and am optimistic that he really lays down a marker tomorrow.

Some race to relish

Tidal Bay wouldn't win this if he set off now.

That's harsh Reet...considering he was beaten under 4 lengths giving 6 lbs to the Gold Cup favourite he has every right to be in the race.

If his chances are as poor as you are saying then Bobsworth should be 100/1 for the Gold Cup.

This entire race revolves round whether Flemenstar stays 3 miles or not if he doesn't the Tidal Bay in the right mood would have a first class chance of winning.

Aye, Tan; in a race run at a helter-skelter pace over 2.5f further, he was just getting into it.
He just doesn't jump quickly enough for 3m - at this level & on this ground. Be amazed if he makes the first 3; unless there's a deluge.

FL and TB will give us a couple of interesting formlines between bobs worth and the two irish big guns.

agreed with RH that, given he's usually shown to be staying on in races over the likes of 3m2f this may be a little on the sharp side for TB to be winning. can see him running on into a place at the end though.

hidden cyclone is an interesting runner.
