Looking ahead to the NH season 2015/2016 proper

HDB is not one for rash decisions. I can see SJ running in whatever novice race avoids Douvan.

Id say there is very little chance of that happening Euro

Sizing Granite will be the stable's QM horse

Downer. He'd be the ideal candidate.

I think you under-estimate UDS, Euro.

He won the Arkle as he pleased, and simply quickened-away from God's Own as soon as Walsh decided to shake him up, and it would take some novice to be lowering his colours in a QMCC come March.

Coneygree, Saphir Du Rheu, Puffin Billy, The Young Master, God's Own & Ptit Zig are all entered in the 2 1/2 mile Intermediate Chase at Carlisle on Sunday.

Sire De Grugy looks set to run in the Haldon Gold Cup next week, also entered is Simonsig

Don Cossack, Roi Du Mee, Texas Jack and Rocky Creek the only four declared for tomorrow's JNwine.com Champion Chase at Down Royal

Gordon actually thinks Don Cossack is a german engine.. otherwise I don't understand his logic at all again giving him a hard campaign instead of targeting him only for the important races..

He's training him on the track.. I like Elliot a lot. Plenty of time for him and how he trains horses.

Selection of Noel Meade's RP Tour

De Name Escapes Me has only had one run for connections since joining the team. He was very keen on that occasion and connections feel he would be better over 2 miles and wants a cut in the ground.
De Name Escapes Me – ran in one point to point for handler Tom Keating.

Fair Return looks a decent prospect for this year, he is fine big horse who had his first run under rules in a novice chase where he finished fourth to No More Heroes.
Fair Return – won his point to point maiden at Quakerstown for handler Ronald O’Leary

Mullaghanoe River has picked out as the dark horse in the yard. He missed last season due to injury but returned well and connections are happy with his progress. He has plenty of ability and his first race be the Troytown and then maybe the Paddy Power.

Mullaghanoe River – won his point to point maiden at Laurencetown for handler William Codd

Gunnery Sergeant got off to a flying start under rules when winning his bumper at Punchestown earlier this month. Connections are open minded regards trip and he will go jumping next.
Gunnery Sergeant – won his point to point maiden at Oldtown for handler Gordon Elliott.

Ice Cold Soul is nicely bred type, he is a brother to Western Leader and Outlander. He disappointed slightly on his season return but connections felt he needed it.
Ice Cold Soul – won his point to point maiden at Belclare by eight lengths for handler Gordon Elliott.

Monksland is a talented individual who has performed well at the top level over hurdles. He has been a frustrating sort to train and his trainer has said this year they will do 50/50 swimming and work. It’s a strong possibility that he will go chasing this season.
Monksland – looked a winner before running out at the last on his points debut at Ballysteen for handler Andrew Slattery

Road To Riches the superstar in the yard has won eight races for connections which includes two Grade 1 victories. He has been a model of consistency for the yard. He will start off in the JNwine.com chase at Down Royal Saturday connections are hoping he is ready. He will more than likely head for the King George. The staff at Tu Va stables are really happy with his progress since returning this season.
Road To Riches – won his point to point maiden at Sligo for handler Martin Cullinane.

Wounded Warrior was described by his trainer as ‘a big lovely horse, a big leggy bugger with great stamina.’ He stays really well and could be an English National horse.
Wounded Warrior – won his point to point maiden at Maralin for handler Gordon Elliott

What about Apache Stronghold?

"He's top class, and while there is always a shade of doubt about whether he gets 3m or not I've always felt he does see out the trip and will definitely try 3m at some stage this season.
I still think it's possible he could be running in the likes of the John Durkan, the Lexus and those chases, but there's no definite plan. We might instead do what Gordon Elliott did last year with Don Cossack and try and skip around those big races for a while, but I suppose the bottom line is there are so many good novices from last season on top of the good 3m chasers that it will be very competitive this year no matter where you go".
