GA, she's been in Sydney the last few days but she is moving on desperately trying to get away fronm the 'Barmy Army'.
Tell her to come to the Gold Coast! SURF, SUN & ABSOLUTE FUN!

No seriously, she will enjoy it more than Sydney, a lot of tourist things to do, and she can then head to Brisbane.

Where the hell is this thing being played at?

I dcon't know how Gearoid got hold of the photos but it was an illegal.

We have some rather nice casinos and card clubs in the UK too you know.

Checked into Crown Towers Hotel at 9.00 am this Tuesday morning (10.00 pm Monday night in UK) after a twenty-four hour flight - including three hour stay at Kuala Lumpur. Am I glad I upgraded flights!

Ram Vaswani was in front of me at check-in.

Hotel is full of poker players and tennis players (Australian Open stated yesterday).

The tennis players apear to be the fitter ones.

 Good to hear you've landed in fair condition, Brian - but an hour's warm-up with one of the tennis players should have you in tip-top shape for the grind. Now, remember, TalkingHorses expects...

Melbourne is rampant with bushfires, hence why they had to fly 50+ Canadian firefighters in to help with these blazes. Its definitely a NO GO zone at the moment.
Not too many bushfires downtown...

Australian Open started yesterday
And, of course, it starts next Monday. But I am excused the error because I am totally Kerry Packered - and anyway there are a lot of exceptionally fit players around.

Tell the name-dropping wardens that in these circumstances it's OK. I just met Martina Hingis in the lift. The silly system of putting your keycard in sometimes goes haywire. She was going to 6, I was going to 5. We ended up on 27. We had a nice chat - she hoped I would win my tournament and I hoped she'd win hers. She's 20/1 - I think I'm a bit bigger...

Talking of polite Englishmen, I had a nice dinner last night with English poker pros Marc Goodwin and Richard Redmond. The ladies seem to find them appealing - like Ralph's Ted I'd have no idea about that sor....

Let the forum ladies judge:

Goodwin

I saw Goodwin play some good stuff on Full Tilt Poker cash game on Sky last night. I'm pretty addicted to the Challenge version with Negraneu throwing around a million. I've always been of the opinion that there is too much poker on T.V and 70% of it is rubbish. Watching Sammy Farha and co playing with real money makes you realise what a game of skill it is.

James, who commentated on the London leg of the EPT, says that Marc Goodwin should have beaten Gus Hansen, to whom he was an unlucky second. Twice during the head to head he put Gus Hansen all-in and twice he was outdrawn.

I think they're gorgeous - do they have considerably older brothers?

I watched Challenge tonight - all this time, and I didn't know it had loadsapoker on it! Teddy Sheringham :) was playing - very quietly - so that made it quite appealing. A surprising number of the players had only been playing for a year or two, the youngest a lad from Denmark, only 19, and another of what Ardross is wont to call 'advanced years'. I've got to have a go at it, it'd be a nice new challenge without having to take any exercise!
