Noted in Running: Flat 2021

Well he was certainly the best horse in the race. Crowley even under those fractions thought he would just pick them up, such is the belief they have in him. The Juddmonte was clearly on the cards after Royal Ascot, I assume they will still go for it ground permitting. 16s is non too shabby I agree if lining up. That said, he'll be up against better horses than yesterday that's for sure.

Wouldn't mind seeing his splits from 3 out.

Was basically used up to get to them yesterday, but 10 does look as far as he wants to go.

That's probably all he'll be asked to, but he's already won 3 over 10f at stiff tracks, none of them at a steady pace, and I'd trust Wm Haggas to know what he's up to. :)

Cheers, BJ. taken 11/2 Vadream with B365, as she might drift with Jamie on.

Quite like t'other one too, so I,ve taken the 7/1 Vertiginous too, as I reckon she'll be OK on the ground.

Nowhere - can’t say I was impressed with Spencer’s ride. His usual tactics and got himself stuck behind the pack then shot through when a gap appeared, but stopped dead and coasted in when he saw it was too late.

…….and the stewards said:

Approaching the final furlong, VADREAM, unplaced, ridden by Jamie Spencer, was denied a clear run and then improved on to and switched sharply off the heels of DANDALLA (IRE), unplaced, causing Spencer to switch further right-handed on to the heels of ONASSIS (IRE), placed second, resulting in the weakening MEU AMOR (FR), unplaced, being carried off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.

The ex H H Aga Khan owned horse Zarzyni now trained by the in-form David Barron, looks to have a great chance. An unlucky in running sh head defeat by Jabbarockie in The Scottish sprint cup at Musselburgh, Jabbarockie has since franked that form cozily under a 3Lb penalty, with an all-the-way win at Chester. Came From The Dark who was a further sh head behind in 3rd in the Musselburgh race has since gone up a further 9Lb for his unlucky sh head defeat behind Lazuli at Newmarket.
Definitely looks like a 6f horse and bred to get slightly further, Beaten only 2 Length's by Lope Y Fernandez at the Curragh over 6F as a 2-year-old. Does look to be real value at 7/1 generally, 10/1 bar, for a horse that appears to be at least 10Lb well in against a lot of first-time out challenges...

Non-Runner

Thought I'd put this here...

https://www.racingpost.com/results/47/redcar/2021-07-18/787374

Dotted up in the above, purchasing an easy 6Lb penalty that gets him safely in the Stewards cup as a bottom weight and relatively unnoticed. Unnoticed maybe, but not to the people who have backed him steadily into 12/10's in places.

Hope he keeps his entry because it does appear to be have been a long-term target.

Edit: Ps. Came From The Dark has since been rated a further 6Lb (115) by RPR!

Zarzyni could well be a stone well in, downhill, fast run should suit....

ALFAADHEL

Goodwood 29 July
Unibet "15 To Go" Kincsem Handicap
1m2f, Class 2, £38,655
Going: Good To Soft

After a promising run and a couple of easy wins ALFAADHEL was disappointing at Royal Ascot where he had been held up, moved easily to second two out, but then found nothing and coasted in ninth.

Yesterday, he was held up until three out when he moved steadily through the field without apparent effort going second at the sharp end. He had nothing to say with the winner, but it was a fine run. He ran off 98 and he’ll be comfortable at this level unless the handicapper treats him too harshly for this.

BAAEED

Goodwood 30 July
Bonhams Thoroughbred Stakes (Group 3)
1m, Class 1, £56,710
Going: Good To Soft

Hardly an original choice since Baaeed must have had thousands of pencils scribbling in thousands of notebooks after this eye popping run.

Still in the rear with not much more than two furlongs to run Baaeed just breezed through the field as if they were standing still without any noticeable effort or movement on Jim Crowley’s part, then rubbed it in by moving six lengths clear without really trying. You won’t see many more impressive performances at this level and he joins the big boys club. Exciting or what.

Post#28 Vertiginous runs tomorrow Kempton 1:00, early price 4/6 (dammit) - ran 5th at 66/1 in Queen Mary since post. - 2nd 5/6

His sire Mizzen Mast produces horses that love to hear their hooves rattle. Can be excused his run over 1m2f at Newmarket on soft ground after his stable move and now back to a mile for the first time on a fast surface, the distance he's been cruising along at in previous runs.

His last run before his move was a good second to the A Fabre trained, Godolphin owned, Magny Cours, who was raised to 115 for the run. Getting up in the final 100 yds and asserting close home.

Bugle Major was given a rating of 99 by the English handicapper, dropped to 98 for his defeat at Newmarket....That could mean he is a stone well in here, coupled with the fast ground and a front running Charge of the Light Brigade style, catch me if you can run...."da da, da durghhhh"

Runs in the 5.00 at Newmarket tomorrow...16/1 into 6/1

I hope I can put a horse on here. The horse has come to my attention having been looking at various formlines recently.

Bringitonboris improved during 2020 when winning a total of three races over a mile or thereabouts. He started this year off a mark in the 70s, and his best run to date, where he really caught the eye, was at York in May, when finishing fourth, just a head behind future Royal Ascot scorer and group placer, Highfield Princess.

If you look at that run in isolation, then Bringitonboris ran a stormer and could yet be very well treated in the handicap. After several mediocre performances since, he's had a wind operation and a fairly decent break off the track.

He's entered up for two races this Tuesday, one being the Scottish Cup at Hamilton, (a place where trainer and owner connections have won a few races already this season with stablemate Euro Implosion), and one at Carlisle over a shorter distance of seven furlongs.

I'm hoping he goes for the class three at Hamilton as I think that I'd back him after the wind operation, especially given that excellent form with Highfield Princess.

I thought I'd post this before I forget.

Callum Rodriguez booked to ride him at Carlisle on Tuesday, so that seems the preferred race.
