Novice Chasers 2019/20

Hope so. Although Top.. being ofs before it's already frigging begun - hope that isn't a theme.

As for the old Novices, most looking forward to Minella Indo. Took a nice price about him for the RSA back in the spring.

He could be very interesting - and as a fan of the stable am confident he'll be campaigned nicely and will know his business

Needs to settle a bit mind but fences should bring about a more settled animal

Pretty sure that of this season's novices Laurina will be the most overbet

Also Laurina favourite for the Arkle and the JLT, when I'm almost certain Jared O'Sullivan has said she stays over hurdles for another season.

Elliott said of the Grade 1 Top Novices' Hurdle winner: "Felix Desjy has schooled very well over fences and we're looking forward to going chasing with him. He'll either run at Gowran Park on Saturday or at Tipperary on Monday."

On Samcro
"We haven't schooled him yet, but he ran in point-to-points so I've no doubt he'll be very good," said Elliott. "He'll run in the 2m4f beginners' chase at Down Royal."

A strange thing to say. Many ex-PtP aren't great jumpers, particularly if they haven't jumped even a PtP fence in public for over 3 years.

And more and more of them don't actually stay when they make it to the track

There isn't a tonne of evidence but I reckon he could end up a 3miler in the sense that Florida Pearl was

If he is half as good, he'll be lucky

Nice looking race at Warwick tomorrow.

Felix Desjy entered up at the weekend. One I have very high hopes for over fences.

A nice race for the time of year, and a bit different to this time last year. The corresponding race only had one runner and was a walkover for a Dan Skelton horse.

Nube Negra fairly impressive there, a horse I’ve followed for a while. Placed at Cheltenham a couple of years back in one of the juvenile races I think.

One I want to see is Itchy Feet. Literally just getting back into it now after a hectic summer. With me and the Mrs expecting twins it’s been one hectic few months.

Smart 3m novice at Chepstow and ‘narrowed’ it down to four of the six, so will just watch with interest as its normally won by a good sort

That was an odd race. Lisnagar Oscar never looked too happy early on, then warmed to it and threw it away again. Winner looks like a nice sort though, jumped neatly bar one bad mistake.

An absolute cracker to follow tomorrow as well.

Impressive from Jarvey's Plate today. Didn't even jump that fluently but found plenty up against two very good rivals.
