Novice Chases 2021-22

Henry De Bromhead sounded very bullish at Naas yesterday saying Bob Olinger had schooled brilliantly - the Golden Miller ( Turners ) is shaping up to be one of the best races of the week .

BTW - The Festival Novices Chase does not exist - it was a name given to the Brown Advisory by some before the sponsor was announced. The registered name of the race , however, is the Broadway Novices Chase which is the name it held when Arkle won it in 1963.

Good to see a forum stalwart posting again.

Thanks for clearing that up...I always knew it as rhe RSA. I judt spent some time looking through the results. I never knew Buona Notte had run over 3 miles as a novice. What a horse he was winning the Supreme beat Dunkirk and finished ahead of Arkle all in a short period of time before he lost his life at Donnie. The names on the lIst of winners
read like a whos who of racing. 9

Just looking through the Turners field. Other thsn Galopin and Bob, what else runs?

Genuinely could be a field of 3 or 4 this. Absolute shambles.

Don't need a big field to have a good race.

I agree. More referring to the many options horses have.

Bob - Arkle or 3 mile
Galopin - 3 miles

Scrap the Turners this year. Adds to the other races, and you get rid of this **** show. Could genuinely be just them 2 showing up.

Much as I miss it, imagine the Novices handicap was still there ?. Most of them would have qualified and we could have ended up with a match

Sounds like L'homme Presse going Brown Advisory.

That certainly seemed the way Venetia was leaning. The horse has never run over 3m and imo it’s one thing to say he wasn’t stopping over 2.5 in the Dipper but another to say he’d get 3m at the festival. Far be it from me to doubt her though

It probably all depends on where Galopin goes but I reckon LHP would have a great chance against Bob Olinger

She said it will depend on the ground so the 3 miler looking much more likely.

I really wanted to back him but am concerned over the bug which has hit the yard, despite her saying he’s been kept away from it so far.

3 winners from her last 7 runners but 2 pulled up favs

Yes it is a worry.FARINET ran like a donkey on saturday.will be interesting to see if it tuns in the plate now(if it gets in)

The RP site still hasn't updated the card to the final decs.

Bit of a nuisance as I need to email my documents to the library for them to print off for me and I'm pressed for time with other things.

Galopin for me.

Much better jumper of the two, and I don’t have anything like as much between the pair over hurdles, than most appear to have.
