Novice Hurdlers 21/22

Jonbon couldn't run in the Betfair brvsuse he wasn't eligible. You need three runs over hurdles to qualify.
Don't think it's that straight forward
For example Boothill only ran in a bumper a chase and only twice over hurdles and he qualified

If you finish first 4 in a h'cap you can qualify with only 2 runs I believe

Can't bring myself to do it. I lumped on CH after his first run and got 16s on Journey with Me for the Bally last year. I cannot live in a world where Mullins spunks both races. **** that.

PLEASE NOTE: A novice horse shall only be qualified to run in this race if it has run a minimum of three times in Hurdle Races in Great Britain, Ireland or France in accordance with paragraph 15 of the Weights and Handicapping Code

Hells bells, exciting as it should be I don’t think I’ll watch unless the riders stop this bouncing up and down in the saddle technique - I just hate it :mad:

That only applies if the horse in question is no longer a novice. Boothill is no longer a novice over hurdles. Jonbon as a novice wasn't qualified.

Remember the case of The Young Master in the Badger Ales at Wincanton.

I did wonder about that so there are 3 different scenarios where a horse can qualify...

also the 3 hurdle rule has a cut of date some time in January as we found out when the then favourite Good Risk At All, missed the deadline and failed to quailify,

It wouldn't surprise me if Nicky wasn't aware of the rule.

Surely your are now grabbing at straws...They never had any intentions of running him Slim.

From day one all Nicky has spoke about for the horse is Cheltenham and never once did he mention the Betfair for either of his.

Have you heard of horses called Darlan, Get Me Out Of Here and Mytentoryours? It's a well worn path for connections yet Jonbon didn't even get an entry.

2.30 Clonmel

Shantreusse - Expectations is this could be Henrys AB horse. 66s last week went and is a general 40s shot now. 6/4 today against Mr Fred Rogers. Wins this it probably halves in price and will shorten again come the day if/when Rachel is jocked up and the Racehel backers put their money on.

No bet today as I like the jolly, just dont know how hard it’ll be trying with Gordon having a strong hand already in the Bartlett. A race worth watching however though.

Wins.

Hopefully Mr Fred Rogers is oright, came down on the flat.

Shantreusse now a 16s shot. Will go off single figures me reckons if Rachel has a few winners in the week.

Just posted on the other thread but totally agree he’s still too big. Looks a totally different horse since stepped up and will be suited to the demanding nature of the AB.

Think 16/1 is about the best ante post bet available right now.

QUOTES: SHANTREUSSE is a real stayer, loves that ground and jumps great. He's a chaser in the making. We said if we ran well here he would run in the Albert Bartlett, we are keen to go - Henry de Bromhead, trainer

Good shout, DJ. especially with the AB price.

Hope you got wired in.

Similar position to Wilson on here. Im already in at 66s and 40s, 16s is probably too big i think an all. I think this could go off single figure price. Race doesn’t look that good on the face of it. May back to lay with guaranteed profit, ill see how it shapes up over next couple of weeks.

If you've got a live one running for you on the Friday at those sorts of prices, why not just stay in the boat and hope to land a monster touch, DJ?

Guaranteed profit is so over-rated on a single-race at the Festival, imo.......all it does is buy you enough time to spunk it away again over the rest of the card (even acknowledging the palcement of the AB at the Festival).

Best of luck whatever you do - nice pick.

Ive got the 66s and 40s with 365, Ill be letting them ride. My thinking is 16s will trim in so back the 16s and lay back off. I dont need to top up the position im in, just make a few more quid if ive read it right.

If Elliott sticks to his plan and Ginto goes Ballymore, and so does Journey With Me & Hillcrest then Shantreusse will 100% be single figures on the day.

The Nice Guy could be a fly in the ointment if he goes but already being on Minella Crooner I’m not too worried about anything else.
