Places I wouldn't be seen dead at....

I wouldn't know where to start.

Ibrox, probably, would be a definite no-no.

Any gay bar (knowingly) (nothing to do with homophobia).

Any cricket game.

A bullfight or fox hunt.

A boxing match. (I once went to a Massambula wrestling match in Aberdeen as a teenager but the guy was a showman and an artist but I wouldn't go now to a wrestling match as I'd see right through it.)

Must be loads more.

Been there. Neil Lennon's last game played for Celtic. 2-0.

Several. Finest - SA Vs Windies, 2004 Eden Park.
A bullfight or fox hunt.
Both: Bullfighting was a magazine commission in my defence, below

Been there, but in my defence, amateur only.
Must be loads more.

A pub - I don't drink, and even if I did I wouldn't pay pub prices, the landlord is odds-on to be a Tory so I've zero desire to enrich him and, to put the tin lid in it, pubs contain, shudder, people!

Re Wetherspoons, Mrs O shares the same view as Moehat so I have to go there alone.

It would be nice to be able to be as principled as that but in some pubs you'll pay £7 for a pint of Guinness whereas when I met the brother for a day of snooker on Wednesday we popped into the nearby 'Spoons for lunch and I got a pint of Guinness and an 8" pizza for £7, and the one in East Kilbride does the full cooked breakfast (including tea with unlimited refills) for about £3.50.

I'm not going to walk past that. I'd take a Ryanair flight if I knew for certain that it was going to cost me the advertised price.

I've been to a bullfight, which is why I wouldn't go to another. Likewise I've stumbled upon a gay bar, ditto.
Understood;)

(we once found ourselves in a gay bar when on a rugby tour in Italy. When, the following day, we mentioned the fact to locals they were shocked & were adamant that there was no such thing down in those macho parts)

Re: Wetherspoons. Tim Martin is a jerk but I've a soft spot for the pubs, mainly because they tend to be renovations of fine old buildings, therefore saving many an architectural gem from demolition. So, one can sit and soak-up a cheap pint whilst admiring the architraves, cornices and axminster carpets: in peace, as they are free from the modern world blight of piped muzak

They're also egalitarian: public bar meets lounge meets snug; and provide something of a social service, being 'warm hubs' where the less-than-well-off can while away hours supping free refills of coffee

Yes, the one in EK, while quiet (which is why they do special offers), attracts people who tell me they can't make themselves such a hearty breakfast at home for that kind of money, they come into the place via their bus pass and they aren't paying fortunes to heat their house all day.

But Tim Martin himself I have no time for (ditto O'Leary re Ryanair).

We ended up in a gay bar once, it was amazing 😆 probably a very different experience to if we were a bunch of lads though. ( welcome to being a woman !!)
Been hunting - deliberately and accidentally, did my dissertation on it and turned a 98% anti class into a 65% pro class after it was read out 😇 would I still go these days? No - clean boot maybe, but drag hunting isn’t for me, it’s too quick, many of the antis are venemous and it’s generally not my idea of fun now I’m older. I’ll happily debate it with anyone who is prepared to have an actual discussion, sadly those people are few.
Barely go to pubs any more, but spoons does a lot of good, it’s a shame it’s owned by who it is.
I love Waitrose !!
