Griffin you don't need a parental responsibility order - a parental responsibility agreement is all that is needed .

There is a standard form provided by the Court Service and it is incredibly simple to do and understand. I am not sure when you are getting married but you could do this in advance to cover yourselves until then.

Thank you, I hadn't known that. But it's about time we got married anyway. July or August is looking likely

Georgia is gorgeous Griffin. She has such big eyes. Is she watching the racing on the TV in that pic?
No, staring at the door  She doesn't seem to find people interesting and enjoys looking at trees, windows, doors and lights

Is that because her eyes can't focus just yet?
I think so. It's so long since I had a baby I can't remember when her eyesight is supposed to improve.

Griffs, has she just thrown a wobbly? She looks a bit boiled, unless you've been holding her over the stove while you were cooking... :angy: no wonder she doesn't smile at you! Funnily enough, I was ruminating on how brilliant African mothers are, slinging the babes onto their backs in a mini-hammock of cloth, while hoeing the fields, pounding the maize meal, cooking, washing, fetching firewood and drawing up the water for the old man's hot wash after he comes in from an exhausting day tinkering with cars or annoying people with some petty bureaucracy. I'm surprised Mr GG hasn't suggested this as a way to free BOTH of your hands while taking care of Georgious!

Poor girl is a bit red because my new washing powder didn't agree with her. Last night I re-washed every single item of her clothing in non-bio powder, so hopefully in the next few days her skin should stop looking like a spotty teenagers.

Fortunately Mr GG is ignorant of the ways of African mothers, and I think he should stay that way  He's been really good though. He'd only been back at work a couple of days before I phoned him in tears, saying I couldn't cope, I was a crap mother etc etc and he took the following day off to be with me  He doesn't mind if he comes home and I haven't even started on dinner yet because of Georgia, he does as much housework as he can at the weekends and he spends almost every evening with her in his arms because he misses her during the day

Well done Griffin - gorgeous children.

Your uncomplicated experience just endorses my view that women these days make a meal of having babies this. Try having a shave in cold water on a winter morning with a blunt razor! Takes a lot longer than 45 mins!
Of course you're right :D

Griffin - dearest, I salute you for coping with even half a child, let alone three weans and a baby and a husband and a house to run, schedules to keep, cooking, washing, nappy-changing (barf!), thinking of shopping lists, school runs, doctors' appointments, nursey check-ups, and on and on... I'd have run screaming from the house long, long ago - or hired a 'lady wot does'! Mind you, you've still a wee way to go to catch up with my cousin: 7 surviving children from 8 live births (not all at once!), and every one's turned out really quite normal, cheerful, helpful, and very affectionate. Not an axe murderer among 'em. I've NO idea how Mums do it - medals for gallantry all round! :D

Exactly, Kri - a man alone is far too much to bear for more than a few hours at a time, nevermind on a daily basis - and there are many days when it's just meself & the parrot and all I want to do is chuck her out of the window!!! Fair play to you!!!

As requested, an update on Georgia :D

She's nine weeks and one day old today and she's just been for her fortnightly weigh in. Little monster weighs 10 lbs 5 ozs. That'll be because of all the milk she guzzles, feeding hourly during the day, constantly all evening and then a couple of times a night. Our night time routine has gone to pot since Friday though, which I'm not too thrilled about. She decided 4am on Saturday was the time to get up and I reluctantly was forced to agree with her. The next few nights were unsettled and then last night she woke up about 3 billion times. Bless her cotton socks :angy:

She's just started conversing with us, lots of oooooooh's and aaaaaah's from her, accompanied by frantic arm and leg waving  This morning she excelled herself though with an excellent impression of everyones favourite commentator, Thommo. She said "Ho ho ho" and then looked rather confused as I rolled around on the floor laughing  I shall have to stop watching the racing, it's obviously having a negative impact on her development.

This mornings photo session provided the following:

Looking good.
The Thommo impersonations are a worry though, don't be taking her to Towcester this evening as he may be there on commentating duty!!

I think Georgia was filling her nappy in the 2nd photo... followed by the "look what I've done Mum" in the 3rd!

She's a real cutie Griffin. :)

Does "Georgia" not give you a clue, AC? (See, I'm being helpful now, even if not particularly interesting.)

Very charming indeed, Griffin. How she'll love, in 15 years' time, knowing that these sweet photos and the rude comments were broadcast to hundreds of people she'd never met and probably will never meet! You will have SO much to answer for, Griffs! Thanks for putting up the update - she's growing apace all right.

As Georgia has had a busy few weeks I thought I'd update this and show her off in the process

She's just over four months old now and today she rolled over for the first time. I'd put her on a rug on her belly and within seconds she'd flipped over which frightened her half to death and she screamed for twenty minutes afterwards! Such a drama queen, and just like her sister Molly. Tonight she'd been rolling a bit more and seems quite impressed with her new found skill. Thus heralds the start of all kinds of bother because she can now make her way over to things she shouldn't be touching.

Last week she started eating solid food and she is loving eating fruit but hating veg, just like me then. She'd been waking up every two hours at night for the past month or so and something had to be done about it so I started weaning her earlier than I had planned to. I've been making all her food myself, having invested in a hand held blender. I've had great fun mixing various fruits and veg together, some more successfully than others. Cauliflower & sweet potato puree reduced her to tears, so we'll not try that for a while  Apple & prune seems to be her favourite combo. Mr GG says I remind him of that woman off of the Vicar Of Dibley who cooks all kinds of weird concoctions that should never ever be served together  I freely admit to not being the best chef in the world but I'm making an effort for Georgia. For now I can feed her the finest organic fruit and vegetables knowing that it's only a matter of time before I lose the battle and she's chucking E numbers and fizzy pop down her neck like her sisters

I'm feeling quite broody and wouldn't mind another one or two. Mr GG is taking matters into his own hands and is off to the vasectomy clinic on September 8th  I hope it hurts :P

You want another one or two??!!!!!! Is 4 not more than enough for you?! You sadist!!! :P

Glad to hear Georgia's doing well - long may it continue.

Where's all that lovely hair you GG ladeeze have? I can't see a strand of it - she's not going to be permanently bald, is she?

I'm hopeful that it'll start to sprout eventually  None of my babies have ever been as bald as she is, what little hair she did have has gradually fallen out. She has one wispy bit at the back but that's about it. It's not helped by the fact it's very very fair so when the sun shines you cannot see it at all. It'd be nice if it stayed the colour it is because the other girls have what looks like dirty dark blondish brown hair and what little hair Georgia does have is quite a nice colour.

Strange, isn't it? Some people don't like babies born with lots of hair - some seem to be quite furry, with dark forearm hair, too, so that they look like newborn chimps. I don't mind baldie babies - I just wonder at what time does the hair really start to grow?
