Master Minded put up a fantastic performance to beat the previous champion Voy Por Ustedes because there is novidence to suggest the latter ran below his true form.

I'm thinking he must be using the 15/(distance in furlongs) formula, which would be:
0.9375*19=17.8125 + 169=186.8125, and knock off the fraction.
He accordingly elevated the five-year-old to the heady rating of 186, from 170, which makes him the best chaser since Smith took on the job ten years ago. The previous highest during that period over two miles was Moscow Flyer (180).

Can someone explain what VPU has ever done to justify a rating even close to 170? He was all out to beat Dempsey last year in the QM.
RPR have him running to 165 on Wednesday which must be the roof of his ability.
