Queen Elizabeth II Stakes

If he has to be ridden tactically here to get the mile, I don't think he will get the extra either, if it's ridden at the usual end-to-end strong pace

Normally I'd agree 100%. The single biggest factor facing a European trained horse is not the surface, but the attritional style of racing: go out hard and try not to stop first. However, the artificial surfaces have affected the style of racing at other tracks and it's hard to know whether the same will happen at Santa Anita given the limited number of races run on the ProRide surface there.
There´s also the fact that every European horse who seems to have to battle for a position ie. Stravinsky, Desert Prince etc. seems to take one bump and never be seen again.

If you race handy in the US you need to be able to take some racing, not just pansying round and hoping to come good in the stretch.
