There is a very useful feature provided by our forum software that every Talking Horses forum member should be aware of and feel free to use. It's called Report a Post, it appears at the bottom of each and every post, and it looks like this:

Why would your Report a post?

The Report feature is the fastest, most efficient way to ensure that a forum mod/Admin will see something you think we need to see.
  • If something appears on the forums that you think is objectionable or inappropriate, Report it.
  • If there is something on the forums you think we need to see ASAP, Report it.
  • If there is something on the forums you think we need to respond to, Report it.
The point is that if you want to focus our attention on something specific on the forums then Report is the best way (by far!) to do it. Also important to remember: Reports are private, only seen by the staff (me and Webzcas).

What happens when I Report a post?

When you Report there is an edit box for you to provide a comment, presumably telling us why it is that you've Reported the thing. You're speaking directly to the mods/Admin here. Your comments are visible to all moderators and the site Administrator, and no one else.

Your Report appears in a special Staff-only sub-forum and an email alert is sent out to each mod/Admin. In other words we'll know about it as soon as one of us reads our site-related email or opens the site in a browser.

In practice one of us will probably see your Report within an hour or so, usually a few hours at most. We're not promising to respond or act immediately on it but rest assured that we'll know about it in pretty short order.

The Bottom Line

The Report feature is a direct line of communication from you on the forums to us behind the scenes. Don't abuse it, but do feel free to use it when and where appropriate.
