Road to the 1000 Guineas

Wading my clear pick at the moment.

Discourse did it very well in her last win but the form dont working

Lyric Fantasy has scope and showed good form but the newmarket form nothing special either

Maybe , good form as a 2yo but she has not the scope of her stable companion.

Think i put something on here about discourse months ago,i backed it at 10s the day after its win.The day it won was in a canter was .80 quicker than 95 rated captain ramius itself winning by 1 1/2ls in a very competitive 15 runner handicap on the same card. You could probably knock another five lengths off that win of discourses definitely one of the quickest of the season on the clock to win so easily. There may have only been one or two 2 yr olds as quick last season,if that!

Wadings time compares favourably as well at the track, they look a decent pair to bet even at 8s and 9s now can't see both of them finishing out of the frame!!1

Have the Godolphin fillies stayed in newmarket like Blue Bunting ? If so they have a good chance . If not , recent evidence suggests their chances are fucked

Talk of Discourse missing the Guineas for the Oaks. On pedigree she has dubious claims of staying 12f so I kind of think she might be slow coming to hand. Backing the boys in blue ante-post is always fraught with dangers.

Betfair's market has been weird for this race. Up until a day ago everything was drifting but now no one is looking to back Wading and Maybe is into 3.5

Godolphin's animals all seem to be needing a run and Crisford said Discourse was a bit ring rusty before her workout on the Rowley mile yesterday. Her trainer is happy with her and she does look like a beautiful filly. I think she's a nice price.

I'd rather wait to see what is running. Personally would be all over Mashoora if she showed up but Rouget is a Frenchman thru and thru so unless Sheikh Hamdan nudges him in that direction dont think he'll want to come over. Even on the day she should still be a good price.

Funnily enough I was just looking at Mashoora (missed the Imprudence.).
Asked whether the Guineas would be next, Rouget, said: "I think so. Of course I'll discuss it with Sheikh Hamdan's entourage."

Mashoora cut to 8/1 (Ladbrokes) although 10s still freely available.

anne marie ob has just tweeted that kissed will be running at navan or longchamp on sunday so the 1000 gns out the window.

Oaks - Wading was the one for dough ante-post up to Saturday then a drought and it piles on Maybe... I personally would prefer Maybe for the guineas and Wading to be left to win the Oaks... If you are listening in Anne-Marie

Lyric of Light looks one of the best bets I've seen in this race in years. She travelled like a dream in the fillies mile, and made up plenty of ground up late on. She is very well bred, and Al Zarooni has shown he can be judged differently to Bin Suroor in terms of not ruining a decent 2 year old. How she is not significantly shorter than her stablemate, whose form amounts to nothing, is mystifying. Maybe may well win, but at 9s, Lyric of Light is as good an each way bet as you'll find.

Does the Fillies Mile have a similar profile to the RP trophy as a guineas pointer? I have no idea, just asking the question.

Personally I much prefer Discourse. She looks like a miler, her form stacks up and so do her times.

37 winners of the Fillies' Mile have produced 3 winners of the 1000 Guineas - Quick As Lightning in 1980, Oh So Sharp in 1985 and Bosra Sham in 1996.

What about the form of those in behind her?

I'm not seeing a huge amount of form from the fillies LoL beat at Ascot. And Discourse was their number 1 hope for that race before she was injured. I think they're both worthwhile bets against the favourite who nevertheless does look solid.

When it comes to the 1000 I'm looking at the way a filly travels, the way she finishes her race and her pedigree and looks as much as the form of her beaten opponents.
