Road to the 2025 Champion Hurdle

Asked whether Brighterdaysahead is the best hurdler he has trained, Elliott replied: "Over two miles, you'd have to say yes, she is. If I run her in the Champion Hurdle, would I have ever had a horse with as good a chance as her? Probably not. She's a lot faster than Apple's Jade.

"I'd love to win a Champion Hurdle. We've been lucky enough to be second and third in it and, if we do run her in it, it would be great to win it."

I doubt if the difference of 28k will influence the Bectiive owners to accept the chances are she wouldn't beat Constitution Hill. They tasted their first Cheltenham winner when she won the Marti Pipe and that is what they could be losing by trying to beat the best hurdler since Istabraq. I just don't see it happening when she could even lose 2nd place to one of Willies.
 
My bother today suggested I lay off my bet on Constitution Hill. would be a huge profit if I could but what he fails to realize is there's no way I would get matched. Many of the bets struck don't have the facility available. Bet365 don't allow you to lay bets as do many others..the exchange has about 84 pounds at 1.84 but lay it and you'll struggle to make it worthwhile as the lay price will sky rocket for at least a day..there simply is no way to lay back large sums once your in your in...even on the day of the race you need a massive bank at hand to get matched for decent money. It's a hard life 🙏
 
In all fairness, it seems to me Simon is saying what we can all see - brilliant Supreme and Champion Hurdle winner, issues since, back to winning ways, hard to know if he's as good as he was, though, but might not need to be.

Less hopeful than I was about my 12/1 about him to never win another Champion Hurdle, a truly shameful bet to have had as I bet him at 3/1 when he first won the Champion Hurdle, but every horse has its price to win - and to lose
 
Constitution Hill is the best I have seen and I will continue to have him the best until something comes along to lower his colours.

I got into racing just towards the tailend of See You Then's career and thought he was a classy hurdler, enjoyed Istabraaq ousing class up the hill and Constitution Hill is miles ahead of both in my opinion.
Would have loved to have seen what Our Conor would have done as a 5 year old onwards as he for me was the most electric winner of the Triumph I think I have ever seen.

Yes, but he's quantifying that brilliance and adding the perspective of quantifying the ability of the opposition.

I always like reading his musings as I appreciate that a lot of groundwork goes on behind the scenes. He makes me think about my own figures and ideas and I'm always looking for ways to make my figures as close as possible to reflecting a horse's ability.
