Robot Boy

Didn't have much choice - the 2 inside him decided to stay far side, and he had to switch and carry one with him to get on the pace. No chance after.

You're such a Prima donna.
It's a form discussion, ffs - now we'll see how he performs on the track you've said would be his absolute métier.

what exactly would you know about me old lad?..you are just someone who picks certain people out and belittles them for years on end...integrity accusation from forum stalker alert.

its not an integrity issue..its a fed up to back teeth with you trying anything you can to prove me wrong issue...you been at it since TRF days....remember them days when you didn't believe in pace or draw biases?..in fact anything Stav or I posted was to be shot at and ridiculed..you do it a little more subtly on here but this thread highlights it nicely. Only recently sectionals were deemed useless whilst i posted about them..now you think they great coz Prufrock posts his blog about them..laughably obvious bias against the poster not the subject.

i wouldn't mind if you were like it with everyone but you kiss so much ass when its someone in the media posting on here...i remember DJ threw a comment at you some time ago and you just took it up arris ..just because he works for TF.

i don't care if this wins or loses..i don't give a f**k...i've won plenty over the last couple of months..but i would like it to win just to p*ss you off which i know it will.

i don't give at toss what your gripe is with me..i'll guess jealousy..but do me a favour..pick another one out..you are a tiresome bore of the highest order imo..always have been and always will be.

stick him on the ignore list. I did and i've been much happier not knowing what shite he's spouting since.

Like it or not, radically altering posts to deliberately perjure others responses is reprehensible, and it's something you've done again and again, and not just on his forum.
As you keep raising the subject, I'll remind you that - all those years ago - my argument with you and Stav on TRF was about the Redcar draw, where you both insisted there was a 'golden highway' up the Redcar straight, where I said it was no more than pace bias responsible for the results in question (as others on here may recall), so it's hardly something new to me. Likewise, my stance has been constant on sectionals for years, that though the are useful in their place, using them as a guide for pace over 3f+ sectionals is ludicrous, a point I raised on Prufrock's dissertation on the 2013 Champion Hurdle - before you ever became involved in the discussion. While I have also have respect for DJ and Timeform, he'd probably tell you that our disagreements ( though more gentlemanly than yours :) ) have far outnumbered the times we've come together on a viewpoint.
Now, I'd rather stick to the discussion of horses, if you'd kindly allow.

Taken out of the 5f listed at Donny, Wed, but entered in Saturday's Portland - his best chance of adding another win this season.

wrong choice imo..was looking forward to seeing him run wednesday..the perfect race for him

i'll have a few bob on in the portland but the race is a punting joke

There are limited opportunities for a 102 5f horse, and little doubt he'd have run Wednesday if the ground had been likely to deteriorate for Saturday. However, the forecast's good, David Barron does know his sprinters, and he runs where he has the best chance of winning.

except when he sends them to ascot where he does really badly..but he sent this one twice..not what i call great placing..but it depends how easily impressed people are i suppose

i hope it gets out of the stalls this time anyway

Not entered at Ayr (and his 3 best performances have been on uphill tracks or extended 5f :))

only just read this complete rubbish

he has won 75% of his races on flat tracks..have you missed half his form out?...has looked one paced on a really stiff track..and Newcastle isn't that stiff where he burned them early anyway..would have won at York with a level start..yet another flat track

best 3 runs on stiff tracks?..give over..complete rubbish...anything just to give an opposite view to me...ffs....

i'll be so glad when this one wraps it up for the season..i'll never start another thread on here like this that is for sure.

For someone who's supposedly the injured party, you sure do start a lot of fights.
Read the ratings, ffs.

Look to me like the 10lb hike in the weights is a touch more tan he can handle and won't be winning gain util he's dropped a few pounds.

Take everything out of the race on the nearside at York and try hard as he did he never looked like landing a blow on B52 until the former started coming back to him and the others in the last 60 yds.

B52 looks to be fast improving and going the right way. He's also in the Portland so he for one should beat Robot Boy again and if Stacky send his over they both might struggle as the gelding is said to be the business.

When this thread started I thought Robot Bot could be something special but frankly he's hardly worth discussing now. Or in the case of you 2 losing the plot over.

He'll win races but he may continue to struggle on this side of 100

It would be a real shame if the thread, which started as a well-reasoned debate on the merits or otherwise of RB's Newcastle win, ended up descending into ignominy based on a personality clash.

Is it not possible simply to offer [concrete or not] evidence for believing why RB might not be as good as first thought by EC1 and allow him to answer in his usual measured way?

Somewhere along the line we should reach the 'agree to differ' stage but sadly it isn't in everyone's make-up.

Did anyone say [on this thread] they were leaving?

I enjoy disagreement within the confines of civil debate but you'll know from other threads that this isn't possible for certain people.

EC1 seldom offers an opinion with backing it up with very sound evidence. That's the kind of stuff that made this forum the success it's been going back to its C4 days. It's then up to the rest of us to agree or offer reasons for disagreeing.

I know I can be as stubborn as anyone if I hold a genuinely unshakable belief in something but it is very frustrating when people dismiss that opinion without offering compelling reasons for doing so.

The periodic Arkle-Kauto Star debate?
The Frankel-Sea Bird debate?

I don't recall them descending into acrimony but there was a strong element of 'we'll never know' about them.

There has to be the chance that at some point we will know if EC1 is right about Robot Boy.

PS - I hope he is right about the horse because it's always good when someone puts up a strong opinion and is ultimately proved correct. Me? I think there was something not right about the original Newcastle race. Uneven going in certain parts of the track? I really don't know but will always keep EC1's view in mind in any race involving RB!

Interesting to read the Halmahera "story of the race " in Racing Post last Sunday.
The fact the race is an in between 5. 5 furlongs may help Robot Boy (or hinder him, depending on your point of view)
It is a great shame when any thread descends to "%^* language.
Life is surely too short imo.
Plenty of grief to be got/given in the real world far away from this playground !
