Royal Ascot 2019

I have to do FUN MAC today in the 500.
I think it might be a case of which side of the stable he got out of this morning but hopefully he is in a good mood.
Has run in the Queen Alexandra stakes the last two years but was probably too highly rated for this off 103 + 107 but back in 2015 he was 2nd off 98 and today runs off 91.
Took 16s 6 places with skybet so fingers crossed.

Romanised's punters will be feeling hard done by there. As might backers of Accidental Agent who was entitled to have finished alongsie the first two on their previous form.

Lesson for next year: the worse they run in the Lockinge the better their chance in the Queen Anne

Perfect tactical ride by Moore on Circus Maximus. My main bet was on King Of Comedy who, for me, was not given a great tactical ride, trying to come from near enough last off an even pace. I'll be interested to see what mark-ups are calculated.

Good day for me with Arizona winning (stunning horse in the flesh) and I also backed The Grand Visir each way (couple of others placed so finished day up). Shame about the rain as it did impact on me bothering to go down to the pre parade ring.

Interesting bit of gossip circulating there involving Sheikh and Mrs Mo. Apparently her personal training has resulted in her horses being moved to trainers other than her husbands...:ninja:

And apparently the social stable guy crossed a line in referring to Cumani and Bell....

Ladbrokes didn't treat Accidental Agent as a non-runner yesterday so they won't be getting further business off me this week.

Boylesports got ahead of the curve yesterday by getting themselves a name-check on ITV by declaring immediately they would do so but I was wondering how many other bookies followed suit?

My bet on Ickworth was not refunded but I don't see why it should be. If the horse refuses to race, how can you argue that it might have won?

I accept that it shouldn't be refunded but if other bookies are doing so as a goodwill gesture then it looks a bit stingey for Ladbrokes (and any others) not to so I'd rather give the others my custom. Refunds in these circumstances are usually more about PR than anything else.

You're right, provided you're getting the same odds as you would elsewhere.

The exchanges don't make such refunds and nor should they in my opinion, because it would mean unfairly taking a slice off winning bets.

They have slashed the prices on his last two which means there will be value elsewhere, if I knew where to look.

Stradivarius superb there - Dettori riding beautifully but all the puff and bilge from Oli Bell ,Rishi and Chamberlain very annoying.
