Sacking Ross is a good opportunity for Auntie to save a few quid.

Ross has been suspended for 12 weeks - no mention of the word 'sack' as yet.
Brand resigned before they had the chance.

Because of the total failure of oversight (i.e. the programme was vetted by the BBC before going on the air), the BBC are snookered here. If they sack Ross they will probably have to pay him off.

Who vetted it though, Homer? Apparently the comptroller of Radio 2 was loyal to Brand right to the death and was virtually the only form of "authority" over Brand so to speak. She has resigned since this fiasco.

Not sure trackside, but whether it was vetted or not is the BBC's problem - not Ross or Brand's.
