Sea The Stars - Retirement Announced

I hope he runs but a bit of me wouldnt mind seeing him have a little break before the arc. Its not the end of the world if he misses this particular race, although i understand how strange it would seem for him not to have raced in his trainers country at 3.

The Prix Moulin (especially if the ground is soft) would be ideal for Mastercraftsman.

Would Ballydoyle really run their two colts against each other if Sea the Stars was absent?

No. The idea was to only run the two if STS runs. Mastercraftsman was confirmed for the Moulin at yesterday's latest forfeit stage.

Mastercraftsman is fine on soft but just as good on firm.

Fingers crossed. Oxx will leave the decision until midday on Saturday if necessary... a game of bluff and double bluff.

Perhaps you're right but it's quite likely he's better off on soft due to others not handling conditions without a drop in their performance levels.

If the ground was good to soft, and FAG, MCM and STS all ran, I'd think Mastercraftsman could well be the most interesting of the three.

The Irish Independent are saying Oxx has given STS "the go-ahead" to run ater inspecting the course this morning. I suspect they just noticed he'd been declared and lazy journalism kicked in, but maybe not.

Yes I'm sure you are right about the lazy journalism. Oxx stated after declaring him that he will leave the decision to midday on Saturday, if necessary.

Fair play to the racecourse management. They are doing all they can to square the circle!

Had a real short but very heavy shower here in Kildare....its the sort of showers you would hope Leopardstown will avoid.
