Shadow Leader

I have only spoken to an capall on the phone, and can confirm that he sounded like an extremely shrewd individual. I could tell from his gravelly voice that he had the ear of many of Ireland's top trainers, and Willie Mullins.

I could also tell that he is a southsider extraordinaire who probably has a jumper tied around his shoulders at all times.

I have met An Capall and although I seemingly didnt make much of an impression, I knew there and then that he was a typical southside knob.

Hmm - well, I don't suppose he even remembers the first time I spoke to him (he was MIA @ Cheltenham and his voice was more slurred than gravelled...). The second time he was obviously at his desk and had a very posh telephone voice on :P

I have never spoken to or met An Capall but believe there's still some Northside good left in him.

Did you get them tickets ye little bollocks?

ps Garney, I merged you and Grey together, and as a Borg you knew that already.

I object in the strongest terms about not being included in the Irish clique; I wasn't going to say anything but my trainer said I should stand up for myself. I have never met An Capall.

After consulting with my lawyers, I need to restate that Mr An. Capall is not in fact a knob. He never was, and unlikely to become one in older age. I was wrong to suggest such, and humbly apologise for offense caused to him, his friends or family.

Id like to meet him....when he gets out of course. But with the way the justice system is in this country, hel be out in 6 years or so.....Not much use to those pensioners who lost their homes.......

I am becoming quite aroused with all this attention. Please don't stop.
Quite dangerous whilst incarcerated i would have thought??!

I haven't met An Capall either - or anyone else on the forum either (or at least that I can remember!)

Personally I don't contribute that often although now the flat season's upon us I may do a bit more. Mainly this is because I haven't worked in the racing industry for a while so I'm not quite as in touch with things as I have been in the past. Also, as I am a bit behind these days sometimes I feel like I don't have anything particularly interesting to say so I don't say anything. I do like to read what's going on here though so I often read quite a few of the threads even if I don't actually contribute.

I'm not really into the betting side of things and all the speed/times stuff is completely beyond me although I do try and follow the threads if I can. Mainly I like the breeding and actual racing side of things so those kind of threads interest me plus things like Spoons' first ride and Kathy and Crazyhorse's new arrivals.

I don't think I've really come across any sexism - certainly nothing that would put me off posting. As somebody else has mentioned, I think as quality of racing varies throughout the season then so (sometimes) does the quality of the threads. It can't be like Cheltenham fever all the time :P

The forum is ultimately what we the contributors make it.

I have met many people of the forum in Ireland and England and I have enjoyed it very much in general.
I keep contact with some of them and the forum has proveided me the way to meet some people in other way I wouldnt have done it.

The forum is not as interesting as used to be in the past, I read with more interest some posts than others and I also confess I am nor writing as much as I used to do.

I find very good some people like Galileo trying to give life to the forum but I missed the posts of some people like Prince Regent, Brian H, Luis Martin and some others that dont write nowdays. People like Maurice being badly reated when he used to post some very good figures ratings is also one thing the forum misses.

About An Capall
I think he is a funny and nice man, I have met him in Ireland and the only problem I have with him is that he has not given me the winners of the bumper races the days we have met. He is completely wrong in politics but when I go to Ireland is a pleasure to phone him to meet in the racecourse or dinner.

I've met An Capall and bought him a drink but he was too engrossed in Brian Hartigan chewing on a baby's head to notice.

I too miss Maurice being badly treated when he posts his very good figures. Dirty south Lanarkshire **** that he is. :D

The forum is what the forum is. Quit with the navel gazing.

Although I am disappointed that I have never been invited to an audience with An Capall. Or Maurice.

PS - Sorry Suny, your English is excellent, but I couldn't resist. norty

Not true. A meeting was arranged with Maurice but it never materialised.

In reference to my earlier post, I told a blatant lie as I have actually met a couple of people off the forum as one of them pointed out to me earlier :shy: although An Capall sadly isn't one of them. It appears I am already having 'senior moments' as the girls at work call them. Hope I didn't offend those I didn't mention!
