Snow

Maybe obvious, but still funny! :D

Ven - no, not a single flake at Lingfield, scout's honour! To the north, the sky was bright for most of the day, although the wind also came from that direction to buffet the horses as they slogged up the straight. Later in the afternoon, it turned very, very dark to the south, but nothing came our way. But we did get a tiny, tiny flurry, mixed with a few drop of rain, at Fontwell directly after the last race today. The morning started out bright 'n' beautiful, but by the time of the first race, people were turning blue.

By the way, I tried to find your alternative route to/past Lingfield, but it's not any good to me, as it would take me quite a lot further out of my way. But thanks for the thought! When traffic's light I can do it in 47 minutes, which isn't bad without triple ram-jet turbo thrusters installed.

Gib has been steady at about 16 degrees and sunny for the last week or so, though it was a little windy in town yesterday.

Heading back to UK on Wednesday evening and had fancied the idea of going to Kempton over the weekend. Sounds like a change of plan is in the offing. :(

Thank the Lord for that.....a hike of 16 degrees in temperature & the sun will be a sight for sore eyes, I can tell you!!!!

No snow here yet, the weather forecast is for snow showers this afternoon & more tomorrow - sky's looking ominously white though & it feels like snow....

Not too bad in a fleece, sunny and not too cold out of the wind. The ground is beginning to dry out fast, gave the lawn its first cut this morning.

Here in Surrey it's a glorious crisp sunny day - ideal for long walks in the country. Me, I'll carry on with the TV, the PC and the sofa...

Lol - ditto here!!! It attempted to snow for about 2 mins earlier, a very pathetic attempt though. Despite my dog repeatedly hanging around making puppy-dog eyes trying to get me to take her for a walk (the Ridgeway is going to be just too cold!!!) I decided this morning that pc-hi-fi-sofa was by far the best option for today....

Snowing now in parts of Hertfordshire, Essex and North London. Expected to be in the West End in an hour. Looks like it could be on its way here.

Had snow this morning on the way to Hull but it had melted really quickly when i came back and we had some light rain this afternoon but now we are having hail !

It's sunny here but the clouds are stacking up, they're on their way....

Needless to say, the mutt won.....am now defrosting in front of the fire & trying to extract half a hawthorn bush from my hair & bits of bark from my eyes. Decided it was a good plan to take a toy with me to throw for her (a bit of rope with a handle one end & a tennis ball at the other) but after that I wish I hadn't! Got half way up the track & found that I was in fact walking two mutts (had been joined by a big black dog I'd never seen before!!) so had to act as ref in the fights for the toy. On the way back down from the Ridgeway (thank God it's downhill on the way back) managed to get said dog toy wedged on top of a 7ft hedgerow predominantly comprised of hawthorn....what sort of prat decides to climb into the middle of the hedgerow (thorns & all....) & hook down said toy with a stick?? This prat, that's who!! Got bark in my eyes & more hawthorn than hair on top of my head!!! Still, at least the mutt's knackered now I guess....even if she is covered in mud as she has a nasty habit of flopping down into muddy puddles..... Still, Mumsy had the fire going when I got back & she's just gone out to pick me up a bottle of vino! :D

Got large snowflakes falling here in Berkshire now....

...what are the chances of my flight on Weds from Gatwick being affected now that it's falling thick & fast in the east? Knowing my luck, pretty large I'd expect!

Had about 2 minutes worth and now stopped. There seems to be a school of thought especially among some of my southern friends, that if you live in Scotland you get loads of snow. We don't and I really really want some.

oh another celt did not know that TRIP I for some reason thought you came from the north west of England i.e. Blackpool.... was in my mind just goes to show really......

NO SNOW AS YET HERE......... there is over 500ft though.. on the mountains .....

We've had two brief sleet/hail showers this afternoon. Still waiting for the proper stuff................

We've had intermittent heavy snow showers (not really forecast) this evening (but we're about 700' above sea-level).

It's not much use to me if the m-way is passable in the morning, although I can always hope the SE of the country gets a doing tonight.

The other problem is, by the time the information chain kicks in to tell us we're closed I'm nearly there!
