Snow

Light dusting here on the ground in Faringdon. Few more flakes fell this morning. The phone went at 8.30am and I was hoping it'd be the school to say the girls could stay at home today because the heating had broke, but no such joy

real cold night in the BRONX fish pond frozen too will have to face the elements and break the ice..........in more than one way......... but no white stuff as such........

And here in brum. The Head has just sent out an announcement that if it continues then we may be sent home at lunch but no promises as yet.

Snowing here now in Berkshire. I have been up and down the frozen motorways to Epsom (M4, M25, M3) area all week as a very good friend of mine sadly passed away last week. My friend was a co owner of my first racehorse Thai Morning, and lived just down the road from Lord Hartigan. Ewell is near you isn't it Brian?

I don't belieeeeeve it...

I've just seen a report on the BBC news from Kent - an inch of snow and the school has been closed. We had more than that yesterday but there was never going to be any hope of closing.

The snow hasn't hit us badly today, just the occasional heavy shower followed by spells bright and long enough to ensure a melt. Apparently it's much worse further east, in the Edinburgh area and further north.

No closure for us either. The snow comes for an hour, then melts in just about the same time, then comes again.....
I wish it would just bloody SNOW and get it over with, thouygh preferably not until next week when I have been paid and I can afford to spend all day in the pub (erm I mean marking...)

I'm very optimistic about my school being closed in the morning. The only problem is, by the time I get word I might be stuck on the M74.

Why do you work in a school??? Its obvious you're not enjoying it.
How is it obvious, Joe? I actually do enjoy teaching, I don't enjoy the other parts as much but it pays the bills so will do me quite nicely thank you.

I am not sure there is anyone in the world over 18 when given the choice of a day in the pub or a day at work would choose work. Do you know of anyone??

And by the way, that should read It's in your post :P

We have some here but it looks like it is not yet enough to close the schools. Bugger.
Now what do you say.

You know you didn't want to go in yesterday.

Eh? I assume that the word "want" was missing from that post and I refer you to my previous statement.

Could be worse.........

This evening, not too bad so far ..

This morning, a couple of inches, compacted snow on the road, one car (not mine) parked on top of my garden wall (which is a great deal better than it being parked in the front room)
