Snowden et al

Clivex, you'll probably be chuffed that the transgender, reedy, turncoat clipe has chosen the name 'Chelsea', I expect?

Magic idea. Hats off to him

Transferred to a womens prison with any number of (admittedly unappealing) boilers desperate for a change from carpet munching and he will be banged up and banging away for the next 35 years

They might be a bit partial to a tranny too

he will be belting screws just to get the sentence extended i reckon

you constantly play the line that aqs attacks are due to action taken by "western" countries (as above) .

A straightforward observation that flights between some destinations in Europe are low risk is exactly that. It does not imply higher risk destinations are "deserving victims". To suggest it does is pathetic, vile, and very batty.

Without going back through the thread, I belive that you indicated that Spain was at less risk as a result of their withdrawl from Iraq and that France was at greater risk due to their action in Mali.

That would appear to constitute a suggestion that aqs attacks are due to action taken by western countries.

It would not indicate that they are deserving victims, but clivex did not actually say that you did.

Bradley Manning is a piece of attention seeking scum who unnecessarily put thousands of lives at risk by deciding that he should release onto the internet a load of information which may or may not have contained details of public interest (he didn't know - he hadn't checked most of it).

He deserves the name Chelsea.

Yes he did, in his post at 8.28pm:

But It suits your narrative to believe that the states attacked by al quaeda are deserving victims of course

You are right though. There is this constant background noise that attacks are "brought upon ourselves". It's sickening frankly

These are "people" who would kill an author of a fcking book or cartoon

Even aq happily admits that its action is against the very existence of infidels (including Shias as it happens).

You are completely irrational if you can't accept that AQ would like to hit some targets more than others.

Yes. Amongst those "targets" are girls that dare to crave an education

But of course they should take responsibility for that shouldn't they

Then of course we have the Christians in Nigeria Yes they have made themselves "targets"

How DARE they practice their religion

I suppose the thread should have been killed off in first reply. Ie What the fck has it got to do with you?

For a supposed champion of free speech and democratic values you certainly try hard to drown out other opinions on this forum and you make it very unpleasant for people to disagree with you.

I agree its very unpleasant for people who disagree with me. Their lack of mental capability is cruelly exposed

Unfortunate but true

A synthesis that is typical of government spin-doctors and black-propagandists when they attempt to influence the wider community in their favour and undermine freedom of information.
The oldest trick in the State-ist handbook .............. shoot the messenger of truth and revelation. Dehumanize him and make him an object of hatred on the basis of false accusation ( such as "could be the causation of thousands of deaths").
I'm surprised that otherwise sensible people still are duped by this bunkum.

If anyone is guilty of causing thousands of deaths it is government and it's militaristic branches who send their young citizens off to wars of aggression and capital gain.

He was trying to make himself look important amongst a group of people on the internet - that was his motivation.

Even if only one human life was put at risk by his choice to release reams of information without even bothering to check if the stuff he was releasing was pertinent (by his own admission), then that makes him scum in my book.

Total nonsense.
Manning went to extreme lengths to maintain his anonymity online -- his discovery came about from the hacker Adrian Lamo grassing Manning's true identity to U.S. Army Counterintelligence.

Manning was motivated solely by his/her disillusionment with the U.S.'s warmongering foreign policies and that country's crimes-against-humanity in Iraq and Afghanistan. He most certainly didn't leak the "War Log" files as a device to seek attention for himself. Any other analysis of his intent is pure reactionary spin.

Pitt people like manning and his supporters never seem to get quite so wound up about "crimes against humanity" by iraq and afganistan (as they were) and sudan. Sri lanka. Congo north korea. And so on

What makes me particular sick about those who continue to believe in non intervention in afganistan is the pathetic acceptance of a state that all but decalred war on western citizens and commited some of the most disgusting human abuses we have seen in decades

Thing is icebreaker, unlike some here you have posted your dislike and hostility to aq and islamists. The question has to always be , how else were they going to be tackled ? There wasn't really and option

It is analysis based on his testimony at his trial and not based on any spin where he stated that he discussed secret information on an internet forum where the people encouraged him to reveal more to them.

Which he did.

He was then encouraged by the other users on the internet forum to release more information.

Which he did.

And then he chose to download the whole shebang lot of the information to wikileaks after receiving even more encouragement from users on an internet forum.

That was his own testimony at trial.

Icebreaker - if you actually knew something about the case instead of making assumptions that anything which makes Manning looks bad is "reactionary spin" and anything that makes him look good is proof that he is a "messenger of truth and revelation" you might be able to form balanced opinions on the subject.

Clivex, you are correct. I detest Al Qaeda. A fascist inhuman outfit without mercy or a drop of humanity or compassion. Worse, a fascist outfit with mediaeval attitudes towards women and all other religious beliefs. They need to be smashed.

But attacking Iraq, Libya, or the imminent operation against Syria are not effective strategies in defeating Al Qaeda; quite the opposite. Such actions have resulted in creating vacuums that allowed a resurgent Al Qaeda to thrive.

But Manning's leaks were not a critique of the Afghan war per se; rather it was a summary of how the Afghan/Iraq wars were prosecuted -- the liberal killings of civilians and the unnescessary inhumane actions. The videos of U.S. helicopter personnel laughing as they machine-gunned innocent civilians on the ground -- as if those helicopter personnel were playing some X-box game.
