Speculative punts for 2012

Frank Lampard 250/1 for SPOTY with Boylesports. He's after lifting the Champions League as captain and today was given the number 8 shirt for England.

He's only a hat-trick in the Euro 2012 final away from going odds on.

the problem is he can't hit a barn door at 10 paces when playing for England..if he'd had 5 shots at John Lennon he'd still be alive today

I'd want a 1000/1 Lampard scores a hat trick let alone in the final resulting in him winning SPOTY. In an olympic year in the UK?!!!
 
He'll score a late winner in the France game.
He'll score a penalty in a 1-0 win in the QF
He'll score in the penalty shootout in the SF
He'll score the winner in the Final.

That's all less that 250/1. I can't believe he's odds against to be honest.
 
Breaking news on Sky Sports, direct quote "Lampard pulled up in training with a thigh injury and not looking good"
 
Steven Gerrard is doing what I expected Fat Frank to do. Given that Engkand are 11.5 to win the tournament and Gerrard is a best priced 33/1 to be named player of the tournament the 66/1 and 50/1 for him to win SPOTY is too good to be missed. A win in the Euros however unlikely you think it might be would almost certainly lead to an England player trading sub 6/4 and Gerrard is in poke position after the group stages.

Blue Square will lay 5.35 @ 66/1 but I'm sure the 50/1 bookmakers will accommodate me.

I just think its blindly obvious that if England reach the final there will be fortunes up on Betfsir taking 5 or 6/1. 50/1 is just too big.
 
If you think England are going to reach the final then, instead of faffing about in the SPOTY market and waiting until December to get paid, why not just back England to reach the final?

I don't necessarily think England will get to the final. I do know that Steven Gerrard being captain and having three assists and one man of the match performance in the bag is not a 66/1 or 50/1 shot for SPOTY. Its a risk/reward bet.
 
Agreed that makes it more difficult. He'd probably have to lift the trophy but it's still the best betting proposition to profit from England doing well.
