What price do you think a bookmaker would lay me on Maybe winning the Derby?

I would lay you 100/1 if I were a bookie - Ballydoyle would rather run a 33/1 colt than a 3/1 filly in the Derby.

I could not agree more with you Hamm! A friend of mine who is a serious judge is convinced this filly would beat any of last years colts. I pointed out he could just lump on at 12/1 for the Oaks buts it's just not in his nature. I'm of the opinion that even if she was a certainty to win the Derby it would be of no value to Coolmore to run her so therefore it could not happen.

If Coolmore thought they didnt have a colt to win it, would they run her to stop anyone else winning it??

keep chipping away at him - it will never happen!

Cape Verdi is the last filly to run. Alex Greaves rode a filly a couple of years before that for some girl on girl action.

Six filies have won the Derby; the last one was Fifinella in 1917 I think.

Three of the six were following up in the Derby having previously won the Oaks.

Godolphin might consider it, but I'd agree its unlikely Ballydoyle/Coolmore would.

Even when Cape Verdi ran in the Derby Godolphin also ran the colt City Honours (who was runner-up).

Sorry to be pedantic, but you should have said after Easter, April 14th to be exact.
